Do you feed your little ones 'crap'?

I was amazed yesterday at the amount of rubbish food i saw people feeding babies and toddlers- has the world gone mad?!

2 kids got on the bus (max ages 3 / 4)at 10am, both eating full size chocolate bars AND crisps, then saw toddlers with McDonalds in their pushchairs, and my personal favourite...a baby of no more than 3mths being spoon fed ICE-CREAM in her pram!!

i think some of you should have a look on the SN boards at just how difficult it can be to get your kids to eat anythig so whether its considered junk or not is really not an issue, maybe you shouldn;t judge peopleso quickly. my DS looks like any other child but attempt to go anywhere near him with certain fods and the backlash could very easily put you in hospital...he is 6 btw.

these threads irritate me. i doubt there is a single person on the planet that goes shopping and thinks "ooh i think we will feed the kids crap tonight" more than likely they are either ill informed as to what correct nutrician really is and they are manipulated by clever marketing of sugar free, low fat, no additives etc etc. or they buy what they can afford t buy...and yes i know you can buy a lot of fresh food and its often cheaper to make your own..but not if you have never been taught!

at the end of the day, what you feed your child is up to you...you should mind your own business about what others feed theirs.

Moondog...of course I would. It would be ridiculous to say otherwise but how many times have you read about people who know that their smoking is killing them and yet still smoke?
Lots!
Addictions are not easy to treat or beat.

There is a plethera of information out there including NHS help for smoking and drugs but not for eating addictions unless you are anorexic...even then, their care can be patchy.

This could do with another thread I think. Do start it up if you wish. The debate might be very enlightening to you and help you to understand what is a tricky thing to get your head around if you have no weight issues.

Amen MrsPoppins! I feel exactly the same. I'd love her to see me fit & healthy, but it's not that easy to change the habits of a lifetime.
I'm gradually trying to change my own diet, as I developed type 2 diabetes age 31, but it's a struggle every day. Whats not to understand? I don't want her to suffer the health problems I have.
