3yo DS and I were baking muffins on Sunday, he called flour 'pastry powder' Grin

I don't imagine that one'll stick once he knows the real word, but DH calls quiche 'egg cake', and friends of ours all call raspberry jam 'pink jam' since the kids named it years ago.

Any more?

My dd 2 told dh when he got home from work that "her tummy was sad" (she had overheard me saying she had a bit of an upset stomach)

she once asked me if I would paint her finger lashes (finger nails!)

HolyDrinker · 01/10/2014 18:11

Pretty much all I use my iphone for is to take pictures of the kids (and MN obvs).

Because of all the snaps of him, DS used to call it my iJack (his name).

We quite like a 'roast breakfast' in our house!

Caramelkate · 01/10/2014 18:22

My dd told us she had done a 'porridge cough' when she was sick. And a watering can was a 'flower washer'

Little straight meat (mince) - DH aged 4 Grin

Zipitydooda · 01/10/2014 18:24

My DS when he saw a man with dwarfism said "look mummy, there's a little daddy!"

smallsofthamish · 01/10/2014 18:26

"Can we paint my feet nails today?"

Zipitydooda · 01/10/2014 18:27

Booby-carrier (bra!)

v26 · 01/10/2014 18:27

Instead of having sleep in your eye. It's called Eye Dream. Makes sense to me

cashmiriana · 01/10/2014 18:28

DD1 called goosepimples/bumps "naked spots" when she was a toddler.

Of course, 13 years later we still call them that.

elportodelgato · 01/10/2014 18:30

DD1 says people with hearing impairment are 'ear blind'

i'm loving these!

My older sister used to call her hood her 'lid' but then she also called yoghurts curries. She's never been normal. ;)

TheObligatoryNotQuiteSoNewGirl · 01/10/2014 18:32

My brothers used to call the radiator the heaty-heaty.

And we all still refer to hanging up the phone as "making the phone go duh-duh", since that's the sound it makes when you hang it up.

Oh and DD2 says 'fluff' instead of 'stroke' as in 'mummy, I really want to fluff that doggy' which is kind of what she does as she rubs the fur the wrong way

Nassau · 01/10/2014 18:35

DD2 (4) calls bras 'boobie patches'. First heard that last week in a shop when she asked did I need any.

sara11272 · 01/10/2014 18:41

I love these!

DS used to call nectarines 'new apples'.

They all call my bras 'boobies' which makes for great conversations when out and about - 'mummy, are you going to buy new boobies today?'

UnicornsAreMerelyExtinct · 01/10/2014 18:43

Microwave = hotter thing

ShyPhilosopher · 01/10/2014 18:44

My youngest, until very recently, thought ice cream van chimes signalled the arrival of The Ice Cream Band. I assume she misheard people saying the ice cream van whenever they heard it. It took us months to convince her otherwise :)

oliviafrombolivia · 01/10/2014 18:46

this day forwards and this day backwards for tomorrow and yesterday.

whatsagoodusername · 01/10/2014 18:49

Green milk - semi skimmed milk
Blue milk - whole milk
Baby milk - 1 pint

We do a lot of milk in this house.

Nikinakin00 · 01/10/2014 18:53

There's a terrible giraffe... "Theres a terrible draft!"
Scratch my dinosaur bone "I have an itchy esophagus"
Scratch my doggy bone "itchy collar bone"
Pass me the hello "pass me the phone"
A shoulder warmer "gillet"

I could go on for hours......

threepiecesuite · 01/10/2014 18:54

DD asked if I was going to put my new flowers in a jarse. (vase/jar). Seems logical.

We also use underbrella.
