3yo DS and I were baking muffins on Sunday, he called flour 'pastry powder' Grin

I don't imagine that one'll stick once he knows the real word, but DH calls quiche 'egg cake', and friends of ours all call raspberry jam 'pink jam' since the kids named it years ago.

Any more?

The timer on the cooker has always been called the bingerbanger.

And I have just massively outed myself.

shockedballoon · 01/10/2014 19:00

DS (4) calls cigarettes stinky-sticks, unfortunately this has not pushed his grandma any closer to giving-up!

Boobs will forever be called fatty stick - ups, after DS announced recently that that's basically what they.

Nikinakin00 · 01/10/2014 19:08

Fatty stick ups....
Hahaaaaaa!! Applied to both genders Shockedballoon?

When I was about 10 there was a girl in my class who was developed enough to have pubic hair. Attempting to tell my mum this interesting news, I said "she's got hair on her befront." I didn't know what to call it, it was sort of on her behind, but it wasn't the behind bit so . . .

(Surprised at all the surprise about "orange yawn" though very cute of course - haven't any of you heard the Australian expression "technicolour yawn"? )

PedroYoniLikesCrisps · 01/10/2014 19:17

DS(3) blows strawberries instead of raspberries.

Today is 'this day'

And at night he sleeps under a 'tuck-oo-in' (presumably because we say 'shall we tuck you in?' whilst covering him with his duvet)

AlwaysHoldingOnToStars · 01/10/2014 19:23

DS1 used to call his blanket his "sleep" as he went to sleep with it.

He also called his big toe a thumb foot.

Ds2 called greenhouses "lots of windows shed" I still insist on calling them that!

Jellyboobs · 01/10/2014 19:24

DD calls her nose 'the bogey house' I love this!
"I'm just getting the bogeys from my bogey house mummy"

monsterfaery · 01/10/2014 19:27

One of our local parks is called 'the dome park' by my kids it has a name but its main feature is a climbing system inside a dome shaped frame.

Desert is known as 'something else'

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 01/10/2014 19:27

My kids used to call white bread play doh bread.

Queen0fFeckingEverything · 01/10/2014 19:32

My smallest called the tin opener "the spanner for beans" Grin

FreeWee · 01/10/2014 19:33

DD 19 months calls a trampoline a 'bouncing', a roundabout a 'round and round' and DH's watch 'Daddy's cock'...

FreeWee · 01/10/2014 19:35

Also her sleeping bag is her sleepy-sleepy bag because that's where she has her sleepy-sleepy

SoonMeansNever · 01/10/2014 19:38

DS blows 'raspbellies' on my tummy - raspberry + belly = raspbelly! Grin

Barbecue is a 'cooking box'!!!

Meggymoodle · 01/10/2014 19:44

We have a "wet hoover" (steam mop) which it ever more shall be. Horses have "trots" (hooves) and our local diy shop is the "shed shop" as when you walk in, it actually does look like you're in someone's shed!

Mof4 · 01/10/2014 19:51

The horizon is 'the very back of outside', a silk eye mask is an eye purse. My brother used to call fly spray 'bee polish', we still call it that!

ModreB · 01/10/2014 19:51

DS3 calls Cheese on Toast "Bubbly Cheese" He is 14yo.

We also had "Peabutt Nutter", DS1. He is now 24yo

Dibbledob, Weetabix with banana and milk, DS3

fififolle · 01/10/2014 19:52

My son has (4) has always called his big tie his 'thumb toe'!

Satinlaces · 01/10/2014 19:56

Frank Singingatra. Some time ago.

Pasithea · 01/10/2014 19:59

God son used to say No yes pleases instead of no thanks.

cakesonatrain · 01/10/2014 19:59

DS (3) gets very upset when he wakes up and has got "a bogey in my eye, mummy!"

Bagels are round toast, toilet roll is round tissue, and a pub/restaurant is a food house.

I think DD (18mo) thinks the toilet is called a wee, and boobs are called milk (she asks for milk and boob appears!).

WeDontDoPrincess · 01/10/2014 20:01

DD - 3yo:

Yucky cough = sick
Wheelbarrow for people = wheelchair
Pink fish = smoked salmon
Slime = hair conditioner
Lady mouse = tampon

cakesonatrain · 01/10/2014 20:07

Oh, and "hello" is also a verb - if Daddy is on the phone DS will say "I want to hello him"

Fortified · 01/10/2014 20:09

Labradog (favourite breed of dog)
Boobie covers (as in "Why don't you wear your boobie covers in bed, Mummy?")

Dinesaur · 01/10/2014 20:19

My 18mo dd says "hello woof" and "hello meow" to every dog and cat she sees!
