Reasons my child has cried today

She wanted jam on her toast - but not the jam that was ON her toast. No. The jam in the jar

She wanted to drive her car. She was sitting on it. But she didn't want to move her feet.

Her legs aren't long enough to hang over the edge of then sofa

She wanted to watch peppa pig. But on the iPad not the tv. Then it was the wrong episode.

She wanted my lunch. As we were eating the same thing I have her my lunch. She then cried cos she wanted my lunch. And could no comprehend that I now had her lunch....

I wouldn't take her to France

She wanted to but strawberries in tesco. But none of the punnets I selected would do.

She wanted to buy flowers for daddy. We bought them. She gave them to him. She then wanted to pick them all apart and we wouldn't let her.

She didn't want to go in the buggy but also didn't want to walk.

She's 2. Granted she isn't feeling 100%. The above is a selection of reasons she has cried today. She has cried at more stuff aswell but these were the highlights.
I am shattered

Mine is also not 100% but her main reason for crying today was because I wouldn't let her play with the blender

Because I said no to keeping a butterfly as a pet in a jar.
Because the dog ate the dog biscuit he was given.
And the best so far was just because he can

It is not going to stop as soon as you expect either.
DD2 (4) cried because she doesn't have a favourite number .
Mind you a couple of days ago DD1 (9) cried because she is growing up!

My DD (4) had a massive breakdown because she wanted Daddy he was downstairs she was upstairs
This meltdown merged into another phantom scalp pain as I plait her hair.
All in all a pretty good day I predict DS (7wks) will cry all night because he is nocturnal a baby

passme you are a bad parent! How will she learn if you don't let her blend her fingertips?

My daughter (almost 8) had a massive meltdown yesterday. Was completely hysterical about the fact that she didn't know what to "study" and if she didn't start "studying" RIGHT NOW, she wouldn't go the big school she wanted (we live in an area with grammar schools and she wants to go to the High School), if she didn't go to the right big school she wouldn't be able to go to university and if she didn't go to university she couldn't be a vet. WTF? She's never even mentioned wanting to be a vet before! And I was trying to drive at the time. No idea where it all came from but she was inconsolable for hours. Nothing I said made it better...

Because I told her she can't fly.

DD2 has been a pain recently and today she cried for many reasons;

1. She wasn't allowed to climb on the balcony which is about five or more meters high.

1. I told her not to run down the steep hill nearby and after she went against what I said and fell over, she cried even more as I didn't tell her not to apparently.

1. I told her off for climbing on the kitchen island.

1. Her brother gave her a green apple instead of a red apple even though she asked for green.

1. She wasn't allowed to change the time on DH's watch.

1. I put the wrong kind of suncream on her (we have never used any other suncream)

1. She threw DS1's book in the pool and got in trouble.

I can't deal with a four y/o monster child.

1. I suggested it would not be a good idea to 'prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die'
2. I informed her that the reason she was wet and sticky was that she was pouring apple juice on herself
3. I removed said apple juice.
4. That Tuesday is not tomorrow and that Sunday is not the day after.
5. It was raining
6. It stopped raining

Thanks for making me smile.... I am sure none of you are, but my DS just cried all afternoon cause he's 4 months and teething. It would of course be the day before we go away for 2 weeks so I need to pack, and DH has been away for 12 days/nights, and gets back late tonight, and the last day is always the hardest anyway... Urgh.

Because I wouldn't let him eat the stick from his peppa pig ice lolly.

Because I wouldn't let him open the window and climb out.

Because he wanted to eat the leaf he'd picked up from the floor as we walked along.

Because I dared to suggest he might want to sit down to eat a biscuit.

He's 2.

1. DS had one rice cake in his mouth and one in his hand but was unable to get another out of the pot to hold in his his other hand (and screaming about it was hard to do given the mouth already full of rice cake!)

1. DD wanted a blanket....there were two there but they were not the 'right' blanket

1. Opening the drawer mummy said not to open and then catching her fingers didn't receive any sympathy

1. I wouldn't let DD wear all the winter clothes I was sorting out for her baby cousin

1. Being told repeatedly not to climb up the bloody bookshelf

1. Because I wouldn't give DD her inhaler when she happened to spot it on the side (she didn't need it)

They have definitely cried a lot more than that today but that's all I can remember! Time for a glass of wine!

I have read these threads and they make me smile. My only saving grace is knowing that there are other completely irrational children elsewhere.

1. Because after about 20 repetitions I stopped saying "don't vet ze bed fred".

1. Because I forgot to give elvis cridlington a sufficiently Welsh accent when reading her fireman sam book.

Ah yes, the weeping...

• because I said she couldn't take her biscuit in the bath
• because she broke the same biscuit in half, and then it was in Two Pieces (the horror) so tainted, and I wouldn't replace it (or glue it back together)
• because she fell over after I told her not to run, and I am mean for letting her fall over and not magically catching her
• because her plaster fell off after she picked and picked it
• because I cried (briefly) when she accidentally kicked me in the face. I'm going to have a lovely fat lip tomorrow...
• because her football had a teeny smear of mud on it
• because I wouldn't wipe dry her trampoline (it was still raining) even though she Needed To Bounce.

She's nearly three.

Because he was missing Max. The other kid the CM looks after. This was when I went to drop him off in the morning. Max and his Mummy were standing a foot away. 'Here is Max, you don't have to miss him, you can have a lovely day together.' 'But I miiiiiisss Max so much (sob sob sob).' Eih?? In fairness he is 2.5 and cries once a day or so and most days not at all. And is lovely and cuddly and v affectionate.

Yesterday he cried because he was using a digital thermometer to read Panda bear's temperature but the lady wasn't speaking, ie since erm Mr Bear doesn't have any temperature the instrument was beeping but there was no voice reading out the temperature. He got v cross and teary at 'the lady Aunty who is not speaking.'

He has also cried in the past because I don't have a willy and he feels sad for me.(Has been recently potty trained) Through the tears he promised to go to Sainsbury's and get me one. 'I can pay with my card Mummy.'

Not today but last week DS cried because I wouldn't let him eat melon standing over the toilet

I think the invisible dog wins. That's just a statement of: I want to be mad at you! Look! You sat on my invisible dog! I hope my DDs don't get that creative, I'll never hear the end of it.
Mine was:
-- I'm hungry, can I have my eggs now?
-- Yes, please come in for dinner, your friend X needs to go home (shared garden).
--- NOOOOOOOO!!! NOOOOOO!!
Cue massive tantrum in full view of at least 3 sets of neighbours who share the same garden. I laughed at her a bit (she is 6) and she was even laughing mid-tantrum, not that it stopped. Somehow it is so much worse when they are hungry.

Because he wanted to be first downstairs
Because his sandwich was the wrong shape
Because he didn't want to leave the sandwich behind...

1 - because none of the 5 cereals on offer were suitable
2 - because I said no to watching Nemo at 7am
3 - because the present of dinosaurs he was given was 'rubbish, want different present'
4 - because I wouldn't let him get in bed in Ikea
5 - because his milk was too cold
6 - because I wouldn't let him drink bath water
7 - because 'hiro' is downstairs
8 - because I said no to chocolate x 20

Also 2, going to work tomorrow for a break

We had tears because DH said he'd make her a sandwich, but she had to get the cheese out of the fridge.

Apparently he always gets the cheese out of the fridge for DD1, who is his favourite and he never wanted DD2 anyway.

DD2 is 10.
We have hit the hormones, big time.

Because he's just drawn on the table and I pointed out that wasn't what we do.
Because he was asked to get a cloth to clean it off.
Because he was told to clean the pencil off the radiator which he did on his way to get the cloth.

Ivecrcried today because my drains are blocked and I've got raw sewage covering half my garden for the 2nd time in a month
