eagle further to your brilliant invention you coukd store some water in the back part to help clean the potty after use...maybe even one day join it to the mains water.... oh, wait a minute....Wink

a Kew meet some day HAS to happen, surely. Is only place I'm a member of and usually get annual fee covered by visits in first month.

moved house around (so to speak) so T in our old bedroom next to dd on first floor and dh and Ioved to attic conversion. is glorious - full if light even today and feels clean and uncluttered. We'll for the first 24h. T has futon in his room so we can fold out for guests and he has huge play area. Also got rid of ginormous dresser in DD's room to make way for a wardrobe and fewer drawers - and five her more floor space, plus moved her bed etc. All coming together well. When new bedrooms all sorted will move mist of toys upstairs and liberate our tiny "conservatory" on the back of the kitchen to be an eating area again.... it's v refreshing way to start the new year and is forcing me into some v therapeutic decluttering and charity shop runs

Will read back shortly but have to vent.
F**king technology has conspired against me for the past two days. Mobile banking, ebay, Facebook, phone storage, memory cards, various fucking call centres (i try to be nice but they infuriate me) and just don't get me started on fucking PayPal. .......
I have however battled on courageously and finally bought a pre loved ergo. She's posting it today. It has been the most stressful £45 pounds I've spent in years. Now praying it turns up. (Dh hates me buying anything on line and especially from a person, sowas not bbeing helpful. He did however save the day when my frantic tears at my own stupidity and inability to use simple systems resulted in a melt down :(
Done.
Off to dream of future ergo adventures. Happy Christmas to me.

rosiedays · 30/12/2013 15:11

Reading back. .
Rock on scarecrow! ! A big clear out and move round is great just after Christmas. Welcome the new year fresh so to speak. I love a clean fresh room (It was my job for years!!) Enjoy your therapy. Xx

Ooh rosie a new sling! Will check ergo out! Let us know how rosebud takes to it - and you too.

Commiserations re computer says no. Maddening! I've genuinely been pushed away from this thread at times by the number of posts I've lost. Glad your

scarecrow that sounds fab. Makes me wish we had a house but we are moving into a flat with improbably high ceilings soon. I do think home making or whatever you want to call it is something that happens over years almost like plant growth and the only way is up - more ergonomic, more beautiful, more organised. V good for the soul.

Unless you move every year like my sharky dp seems to need to do.

Yes to kew meet up!

notso so j is 10 weeks - he is still in that muddled stage when he won't know day from night. It just creeps towards some sort of order and predictability. You think it won't but it does, it has to. Takes its time of course.

AFM relieved to have not seen sis for a while. I was thinking just the other day 'how clearly I can see others' denial. What am I in denial about? Is it possible I am so brilliant I'm not in denial about anything?' Er, no indeed.

Somelet is taking milky from a bottle - ta knotty for showing it was possible after bottle refusal. I put a teat in her treasure box - she used to suck on it for ages maybe that has helped. It's nice cause she gets all soft and breast-feedy and relaxed which doesn't happen with a sippy cup.

knicky where are you? Are you lurking?

my sweet smiley boy looks Luke a smiley wind up bath toy when he swims: he grins and flaps his little arms like flippers. It is almost unbearably cute. That's it. I just had to share

EagleRay · 31/12/2013 20:30

Happy new year everyone! Wondering what you are all up to this eve - imagine a fair few (majority?) have their feet up on a sofa somewhere and are hoping there's no cries from upstairs.

Re lost posts - if on a laptop, use a text editor for typing posts, then copy and paste into browser. If on a mobile and typing directly into MN, select the text and copy it before submitting post, then you can always paste again if post is lost.

Hope you all have a wonderful 2014 ahead - our babies are growing fast and will all be toddlers by the end of the year!

blueblackdye · 31/12/2013 21:20

Happy New Year to all, peace and joy in all families, better/easier communication and relationship with our OHs, good health for our fast growing babies. May all our dreams come true.

blueblackdye · 31/12/2013 21:21

OMG I am turning 43 in a few hours...

blueblackdye · 31/12/2013 21:23

Knotty, I don't know what I did on FB but looks like I invited Dean in our secret group, can you or me remove him ? How can I do that ? So sorry for this stupid mistake. Anyone knows ?

EagleRay · 31/12/2013 22:01

Wondered who the mystery man was! He must have had some strange postings in his newsfeed Xmas Smile

Happy birthday!

knottyhair · 31/12/2013 22:05

Just wanted to pop on and say Happy New Year to all you amazing ladies. I'm off to bed, but DS is dying to stay up and see the new year in, bless him, so DP has agreed to stay up with him. I'm leaving them on Minecraft eating crisps hope they're not still there in the morning.
BBD, I'm sure we can sort it, no worries, I'll have a look tomorrow Smile.

If anyone is out celebrating, have a good one, and if not, hope you get a good night's sleep!

blueblackdye · 31/12/2013 22:54

I wanted to say as well thank you to all for being here, you have listened to my moans, shared my despair, made me laugh outloud, given me wise advice, talked frankly... Thank you for all that, 2013 has been a good year, I met lots of wonderful ladies and made friends, thank you. I am pretty sure 2014 will follow the same pattern. Lots of love to all

rosiedays · 01/01/2014 00:07

Happy New year everyone :)

scarecrow22 · 01/01/2014 07:24

happy new year lovely ladies. Thank you for the friendship, and wishing you and families sleep, health and happiness xx

scarecrow22 · 01/01/2014 07:38

is it happy birthday bbd ??

rosiedays · 01/01/2014 08:01

Happy birthday bbd. Xx

somewherebecomingrain · 01/01/2014 08:02

Happy birthday bbd you literally don't look a day over 25. I was going to say 18 but the truth is sufficiently amazing, no need to exaggerate.

I stayed in last night, really good NYE. No booze, healthy food, the croods with the kids followed by, er, The Act of Killing with Dp. Not exactly enjoyable but not a waste of time - extraordinary film which breaks new ground both in terms of how it is done and what you learn.

happy new year all. I value this thread so much. Where else can you vent your darkest fears at 3am or in the corner of a family gathering, and get such quality responses, comedy, advice, empathy?

Happy Birthday BBD! Have a lovely day.
We watched "The Thirteenth Tale" last night (recorded from the night before) - v.good if you like an unsettling "ghost" story - Olivia Colman who's always very watchable. Act of Killing sounds interesting Somewhere.

blueblackdye · 01/01/2014 22:31

Thank you Ladies. It was a quiet birthday but all went well. Watching horror movie with DH atm. Can't wait for the weather to clear up, have been stuck inside since we came back and DS is getting out of control while A picked up DH's cold....

rosiedays · 02/01/2014 01:00

Bbd glad your birthday went well. And yes this weather is getting boring.
A little story. ...
As I was drifting of to sleep tonight I heard a loud yawn followed by several 'raspberries' then silence. I stifled a giggle as it was so cute. A few minutes later and another yarn followed by more raspberries and then silence. I just had to look. i turned over (pretending to be aasleep) and these huge dark eyes were starring at me. They were like owl eyes. Bless her. She continued to yawn followed by raspberries followed by silence for ages. Dh and i were giggling into the quilt it was so ffunny. .then silence then another yawn /raspberry and a little fart. I was mesmerised by these huge eyes and funny noises. When she got board of yawns and raspberries she took her little white rattle teddy and chatted and chewed for a while, one final yawn followed by raspberry and she went back to sleep. It was pure baby magic.

somewherebecomingrain · 02/01/2014 09:33

rosie amazing. So gorgeous.

bbd I love horror films - have an old blog on the topic which I might one day post a link to. Which film?

knotty will look up 13 ghosts on iplayer.

Rosie, this is so cute !
Somewhere, we watched World War Z with Brad Pitt ! And a few days ago, it was The Frozen Ground with Nicolas Cage and John Cusak...
Scarecrow, a while ago before DH I was a good customer of these brands, not anymore but I m still on their mailing list !

blueblackdye · 02/01/2014 20:53

Made myself a chocolate tart this afternoon with strawberries, DS insisted on the strawberries. Had Pierre Herme truffes, leather gloves, RL snow white Golf zip jumper. DH has gone mad !
Golf was because of Marrakech, I managed to throw pretty far, beginner's luck I suppose, DS loved it too so DH has decided we should all try to get better.... Still, I don't really see the point of a special jumper :) if I ever become Tiger Woods...
Saw paediatrician in Paris for A, her weight gain is very little compared to DS, but at the same age, DS was on formula ! Some months she would not put on weight at all, this time she put on 175 GRAMS ! The consultant had zero concern, her height and weight are perfect for a breastfed toddler, same for her motor development and speech. 17 months, 10.275kg, 81cm, A is spot on !
Her godmother could not help herself and splashed out on a Chloe furlike coat for A. Madness ! But very cute... My Mum offered her beautiful tiny earings :) what a family ! Traditions and lovely gestures. Not sure what she will get for her 18th birthday...
That is very weird, I have bought designer clothing as birth presents for my friends' babies before I had my own children but now I would not do it for my own, i always find excuses, don't like the material, it is not machine washable, it is too white, it is not practical...
Oups, little cries from upstairs, got to go

scarecrow22 · 02/01/2014 21:33

Rosie. that might be the best baby story ever. What a contented secure little girl she must be. I will smike inside for a long.time
