Dp a loving kind man doesn't wake at all with our dc. Our ds2 is 6 mo currently a bit unwell with a cough etc and is up every 1-1 1/2 hours every night, he's been up like this for a few weeks now and I'm tired... Dp doesn't quite get it and I need to explain it in a different way... Anyone help??

Actually, it is quite extraordinary that we had two children.

Passes Brew and sympathy to the OP :)

This thread has reminded me why we are stopping at 2dc! Thanks x
I did manage to injure myself (accidentally I promise!) and was in hospital for a few days which was wonderful! I slept and slept and read and then slept some more.

It is awful being that tired. I hit some sort of low point when DS was about 6.5mo old. I've had similar tiredness from work on two different occasions. 14 hour work days for 90 days in a row coupled with insomnia will do that.

My body begins to give up after a while. I've had shingles and recurrent mastitis as a result of chronic tiredness. DD is 9 weeks and sleeps very well - she's up once or twice a night. DS is currently up once a night. So I feel pretty good at the moment because I know I've been much worse in the past.

My tiredness and illness due to tiredness is why we did controlled crying.

Controlled crying with DS, not with the 9 week old, that would be awful!
