I've been scouting around the site for a few weeks, looking for info on parentnig issues (soon to be stepmother) and I was wondering how do you bear to talk like this about your family members? What's wrong with you all??

OP posts:

Ah, go on then Chipping.

Wine and a promise to agree with everything I ever post, ever?

confuddledDOTcom · 07/12/2012 21:17

Well I remember 10 years ago when I split up with my exhusband my family and I used to call him "DH" but it was no darling! I hadn't even heard of MN back then! I haven't seen a forum that doesn't use them.

I don't like to use them, mostly because of the ex connection. Although I do tend to use LC when talking about my angel baby because it's confusing to say "my eldest" in the next sentence to saying your first baby died. Sometimes use OH and MIL/ FIL etc.

Anyway, the OP sounds like a nasty and rude person! I can't believe the response to the post about woolly hugs!

DH and DC are just abbreviations for fast typing. Nobody actually says them out loud. Do they. Grin

SantasHugandRollintheSnow !!

Shock

I know this was about eleven pages ago, but your little song! My dad always used to sing that about our dog, I thought he just made it up!

You're not my dad are you?? Where on earth is it from?

Gladyss · 08/12/2012 00:37

There is nothing like a good moan about our loved ones to a friend to let off steam. A good friend recognises a moan that is general sound off when we are finding life hard and our loved ones are the ones that get the blame.
They are also the ones that are the sounding board for when we know we can make better choices. Its just a way that some women work through what needs to be disposed of or tolerated. Can seem a bit extreme when viewed with a cool head. But is recognised by those people who have shared the same experience. Perhaps you have not got there yet

I don't know where it came from, my dh used to sing it too. I am off to the land of google on a treacherous adventure of discovery, should I survive I will return with the knowledge you seek......

The road was windy, I hit many dead ends. It transpires its one of those things that many families sang and I cannot and have no inclination to dig any deeper to find its origin.

SDTGisAChristmassyWolefGenius · 08/12/2012 21:34

Andula was posting on other threads as late as yesterday. Nothing since then though - either she's had her fun and left, or she'll be back to tell us that she hasn't been here on account of having a real life - which we obviously don't. Xmas Hmm

Tolly81 · 08/12/2012 22:56

I bet she's still reading this though. That's what's really pathetic - she really doesn't have anything better to do. I feel a bit sorry for her. But not as sorry as I feel for her stepchildren!

DowntonSprouts · 09/12/2012 00:37

Yes but she says LOL a lot.

And we all know that is totally unacceptable.

confuddledDOTcom · 09/12/2012 09:00

I don't have a real life, if I'm not straight (lying down or standing up) I get painful contractions (not BH, proper ones that don't do anything and the rest of the time they're there but not so painful) so I'm lying in bed most of the time. People like Andula help pass the time Wink

There's some odd people out there.
