@crazy, glad you feel rejuvenated! Why is it that these baby's we gave birth to refuse to sleep well at night for us!!

@ off
I'm truly inspired now!! Ill just have my last binge on the junk in the cupboards tonight, then tomorrow I stock up on chicken breast and feta. I hope the hot weather remains. Its so much easier to live on salads when it's hot.

Despite being a bit under the weather and up loads with DS2, we actually had a pretty good day today......... obviously until everyone get cranky dinner time etc.

Good luck tonight ladies

Offcolour · 19/06/2013 19:56

M3nj, unfortunately, feta is quite high in fat (obviously because its tasty)... Cottage cheese is about the only cheese as far as I know that's properly low fat/calories.

I've been eating piccalilli with my chicken pittas, which makes them really tasty if you like that kind of thing... Trick is to add tasty stuff with few calories, balsamic glaze is good, fresh basil or mint.

Mummy2NJ · 19/06/2013 21:21

Oops sorry meant cottage cheese lol!!
Thank for the tips. Will defiantly try these x

debbie1412 · 20/06/2013 21:34

Just bought a slender tone abs belt. However much weight I lose I always look 5months pg, stomach muscles parted like the red sea.... Hmmmmm the red sea !

crazypaving · 21/06/2013 13:14

Debbie have you heard of the tupler technique? it's specifically for separated abdominals. she has a book on Amazon for about a tenner. it's supposed to be really effective.

I'm having another bad week! I can't put my finger on what it is exactly but everything is really tough and I'm really shouty. really thought I'd be coping better by now - ds2's heading towards the 9 month mark ffs. doesn't help we've got thrush and feeding's a nightmare. gah. nearly the weekend. I'm supposed to be going out tonight and I just can't be bothered. nothing to wear and I look a right state - and it's a night with loads of glam women I barely know. boo. would rather go out for dinner with dh if a night out is on the cards.

moan moan moan. sorry Sad

debbie1412 · 21/06/2013 14:22

I said to Antony last night that it would be nice if we could escape for an evening. A movie and dinner. It's his birthday Sunday my parents are down for the weekend but we havnt seen them in 6 weeks so it's rude to ask if we could abandon them sat night. Oh well only another 12 years until il let Daniel babysit lily.

Offcolour · 21/06/2013 15:15

Debbie, we rarely see my dad and my in-laws, they live the other side of the country, but when they come we always go out! They want us to! Although we have no help at all normally so they try to help us out as much as poss when they're here.

Crazy, sorry you're having a rough week. I'm the same, somet

Offcolour · 21/06/2013 15:17

....sometimes I feel I've cracked it, other times I'm just totally fed up and want to run away.

Swimming today and ds has woken up early from his nap and is refusing to feed before we go. It will be a fun afternoon!!! Dh probably back late as well.

BUT IT'S FRIDAY EVERYONE!!!!! Week is almost done :-)

Offcolour · 21/06/2013 19:45

Kids almost in bed....!

Wine for all!!!

crazypaving · 23/06/2013 12:28

I went out on Friday night - one glass of prosecco, in bed by midnight - and I've been a wreck ever since. where's my stamina gone? I have absolutely no reserves Sad great night though Smile

eversomuch · 24/06/2013 21:58

We have now had about seven straight weeks of DS waking every morning between 4:30 and 5:30am. Yes, he mostly (but not always, esp now with teething) sleeps from 7pm until then, but the early morning wakeups are really starting to drive me insane.I can rarely get to bed before 10pm and I'm dreading going to bed tonight because I know I'll be woken up at that ungodly hour and I'll get so cross and feel like crap most of the day.

And he hardly sleeps during the day maybe half an hour at most so I feel like I'm getting just no break at all, and I don't know what else I can do to get him on track. It's probably just a matter of him being ready to sleep through, but I can't take it anymore. Though I know I have no choice. :(

Sorry for the rant.

crazypaving · 25/06/2013 08:45

ever I can sympathise with the horrendous early starts - I have an early bird too. but not getting a break in the day is really tough Sad hope this phase doesn't last too long for you.

debbie1412 · 25/06/2013 14:05

Hey all considering getting rid of Lily's dummy as was up 3 times last night and the night before, now where didi put my back bone?? X

crazypaving · 26/06/2013 08:28

let me know where you find it, if you do, Debbie. we still haven't got rid of ds1's and he's 2.8 Confused too chicken Sad

Offcolour · 27/06/2013 06:47

Oh ffs, ds sleep gone to shit again after a few decent nights. Feel v low. Seriously considering getting a sleep consultant, but I know what they'll say - I have to stop him feeding to sleep. He doesn't always, just sometimes. Argggh I'm so fed up!!!!

crazypaving · 28/06/2013 08:36

oh no offcolour Sad hope things improve. it's so bloody frustrating Sad

satsumagirl · 28/06/2013 13:08

Hope things get better for you soon offcolour.

Crappy morning. Long walk in tje rain taking toddler and baby to new playgroup. Got there and it was cancelled! Arrgh! Then on way home toddler kept pulling the raincover off the buggy (he was sitting in it with newborn in baby seat behind him). He kept getting wet and so did the baby. It was a real battle of wills. In the end he insisted on sitting there without the cover getting soaking wet! Bloody awful and I ended up shouting awful things at him. I'm a crap mum Hmm

crazypaving · 29/06/2013 13:51

DS2 has slept through (til 5) 4 nights out of 5!

Shock Shock Shock Shock Grin

It's amazing! I can't believe it! And while I know it's just a phase and it won't last, just knowing he can will hopefully tide me through the next phase of awful sleep.... or, of course, make me resent it more Wink

part of me is starting to imagine a life with full nights' sleep. Idiot that I am. Besides, I haven't slept through the night yet - my sleep mechanism is far too broken!

satsumagirl · 29/06/2013 20:19

Fab news crazy! What's your secret? DD1 (aged 7 months) sleeps from 11.30ish to about 6am about two thirds of the time. DS1 was sleeping from 7-6 at this age so can't wait for her to start doing that. It feels like a long way off though as she is still not taking a bottle.........

crazypaving · 29/06/2013 20:45

honestly no clue satsuma. ds1 didn't sleep through til 16m so I had no expectations. I think sleepers are born not made

I do think sleeping through is a milestone they all reach in their own time I'm pretty sure this won't last! just enjoying it while it does.

Offcolour · 30/06/2013 13:52

Great news crazy! Ds still up twice a night on a good night....hoping he'll improve and go to one feed soon, he's eating vast quantities of solids now so shouldn't really be so hungry.

eversomuch · 30/06/2013 22:30

Congratulations, crazy. That must be divine. Enjoy it while it lasts!

eversomuch · 30/06/2013 22:37

Offcolour Re: feeding to sleep ... I fed DD to sleep and she just gradually started not being fully asleep when I'd put her in her cot. So I guess it might be more accurate to say I fed her (and am doing the same with DS) until she was finished feeding. Early on that meant until she was asleep, but as she got older, she'd simply finish feeding and then I'd put her down and she was fine with it (usually).

Just my experience. I remember being really worried that I was going to pay big time for feeding to sleep bc so much of the advice says to avoid it, but it worked for us with DD. Hoping it will work with DS too.

debbie1412 · 01/07/2013 14:10

We are going backwards with the sleep it's not unusual to be up 2-3 times in the 7-7. She was going better at 4 months, kids should come with a return label Grin
