I can't be the only one with a bit of a nappy obsession.

Can I? [confussed]

Way-he!

ValiumQueen · 06/11/2012 14:55

We will be told off for him being too fat next Grin

PurplePidjin · 06/11/2012 14:59

You cannot go wrong with cow print. I have ordered two cow print bags today from Bum Deal Nappies.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 06/11/2012 22:27

I too am a lover of the cow.

Am on the lappy so shall put fluff bums up when they've finished downloading off my iphone.

My giddy aunt you are organised PP!! I've been anal and labelled the drawers with size 1, wraps, inserts etc.

Good on you both VQ that's a great weight gain!

Notgrownupinmyhead · 06/11/2012 22:59

Ive put some up of wash day and the younger 2 sporting theirs. Smile

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2012 06:56

I am now a convert of co-sleeping having got out of bed once last night! Woo hoo! He woke once at 1am. Amazing. Gonna enjoy it while it lasts. Gonna dig the wrap out later I think. It is amazing how they are all so different.

LeBFG · 07/11/2012 07:40

You'll be weaving lentils soon VQ, mark my words Grin.

I had to cut DS's hair for the first time yesterday Sad it really was too long. The blond ends have gone and he looks darker now. We co-slept for a few months and DS was really clingy, wouldn't go in a pram or car seat - the classic 'high needs' baby (everyone said I'd made him like that Hmm). He went off the childminder for the third time yesterday - no tears, all he did was play said the CM Shock - they really do grow up. It's great but I can't help feeling a bit humph. Crazy mum.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 07/11/2012 09:25

Isnt it just. DS1 was very high needs and still is now at 4yrs! DS2 is really laid back but gets in a right state when hes on one. Im not cutting his curls off. Ds3 is so far an easy baby. Luckily I dont have to rock/feed to sleep, i can just put him down and thats it. No doubt it'll change!! I think thats down to him constantly being put down when he was first new cos I've the other dudes to deal with!!

Strip wash today but with washing up liquid instead of dishwasher tablets to see if there is any difference.

My mate had turned into a bit of a lentil weaver. Grin

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2012 13:49

DS has not slept more than 5 minutes since 9am. Bless him.

I am looking forward to cutting his hair ASAP. The girls have long hair, and there are always tears when it is washed or styled.

DH does not like it when I put a pink nappy on our boy, and will not let me use flower nappy. He has one on now as I have run out. Clearly I did a good thing buying more Grin

Bum Deal Nappies delivered first thing! Lovely items, and I will be copying the idea of the key ring! The wet bags are minky, and delicious. The size 3 LL bamboos seem huge!

eBay cheapies Alva 3 nappies fit boy really really well. Can put them on him today as DD2 at nursery.

DD did a poo yesterday that any cow would have been proud of. It was the worst one ever, green (slush puppy side effect, not ill) and so very stinky. DH had the pleasure, as I was feeding (such a shame) It went through the fleece layer and stained the soaker. She also put her hand in it. Nice. He was on the phone to MIL at the time Grin. I must put a fiver in her money jar. She deserves it!

Potty training is around the corner for her. This morning she said poo, push, did so and grinned. Very aware I would say.

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 07/11/2012 21:12

Just been checking out people's pics, PP I am envious of your organised stash! Can't wait to see Pidjchick modelling them... And Notgrownup your boys are great - I love the wash day one too, I love doing laundry - and as for the poo in the cot...! There are no words. We've had builders in this week and I've been so disorganised I've used disposables the last few days, can't wait to get her back in fluff tomorrow, I miss that big nappy bum!

VQ so glad J is chubbying up nicely, well done. Enjoy co sleeping and lots of cuddles!

Notgrownupinmyhead · 07/11/2012 23:16

Thanks Biscuit. They're on the maiden downstairs atm! I love washin too. Been at it all day and will be tomorrow.

VQ we do need to see J Grin so glad hes getting chubby. Lovely little fat folds but not so good cleaning milk out of them at the end of the day!!

PP aren't you good at crochet! Is it easy to learn??

Must stop watching OBEM!!!!

PurplePidjin · 08/11/2012 07:32

They won't stay that way!!

I do like a spot of crochet, I've got a cable owl cardigan just finished to post a pic of when it gets light enough (you can see the sleeve on there already) Come join us in the Hotel Crochetfornia in Arts and Crafts and we'll get you started :o

VQ, isn't it funny how unenlightened they can be - mine is fab at equality but shudders at the thought of a ds in a flowery top. I'd just be glad it was clean!

Notgrownupinmyhead · 08/11/2012 10:15

I might just do that pij. VQ, ds1 wanted a toy buggy so he could put his teddies in and we could play babies and dh thought it was a bit gay. Angry how did you get on last night?

PurplePidjin · 08/11/2012 11:25

Dp's not too bad with the freedom of choice thing - if ds decided to dress up as a fairy princess at nursery, that'd be fine - but he doesn't like adult-imposed concepts of gender neutral - if i bought ds a fairy princess costume, dp would be furious. Ditto, only available clean pants are girlie = fine, deliberately buying girlie pants (or y fronts for a girl, tbf) = big no. Pink polo shirt, ok; pink frills, uh uh.

It's really complicated, trying to find the line between encouraging an individual personality and forcing outmoded social concepts reinforcing the dominance of the patriarchy Confused

PurplePidjin · 08/11/2012 12:06

Oh, and I've acquired half a dozen or so Imse Vimses. They don't appear very absorbent, anyone know what they're like?

Notgrownupinmyhead · 08/11/2012 14:44

Well using washing up liquid seems to work for stripping they didn't smell of anything when taken out the washer.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 08/11/2012 14:50

The other post was meant to read vq how did you get on last night. Sentence got a bit muddled up.

Ds1 hates pink with a passion and would go without pants if thats all there was. Smile

ValiumQueen · 09/11/2012 09:05

Sorry I have been AWOL. DD2 has vomiting bug. Just what I need with a newborn Sad

Tiny nappies LL bamboo have arrived and are as cute as can be. They fit well too. J is sleeping 3-4 hours at night, so no leaks with the bamboo. They were pretty wet though. I washed them 3 times yesterday! Then put them in the dryer. Took 2 hours! But i was determined to try them last night.

I am tired.

PurplePidjin · 09/11/2012 09:08
Brew
LeBFG · 09/11/2012 09:33

Ahh, big Brew from over the Channel too VQ. It's so hard to begin with and you've had, and are still having, a LOT to contend with. J is sleeping really well! That is great news.

Have finally received three large Onelife wraps from the Nappy Lady. They are a bit 'basic' range tbh. Bit cheap crinkly. But a nice size and fit, so hopefully they'll do their job - in which case I can't complain at 3 quid a shot. I also ordered a super big booster for when I move back to doing night nappies. It is enormous - I'll have to put it outside the nappy like VQ does as there's no way it's going to squeeze into the fitteds.

ValiumQueen · 09/11/2012 09:46

Thank you for the Brew. Just what I need, although would prefer Wine

I am quite impressed with the onelife wraps, although agree they do not look like much. DD prefers the fleece though. She pongs in the morning, but I have sniffed the bed and duvet and there is not a hint of pee there.

I was worried I had too many nappies, but with two in cloth, and one pooing every 1-2 hours, washing daily is essential even with my vast stash. DS was in pink all afternoon - the LL OSFA. They fit ok if they have a big insert and a bamboo booster. DH was out, so got away with it. I am sure having the night nappies will help.

I am going to be working on little liners for the bamboo, and huge liners for the size 3.

J is doing really well, still sleeping with me, and I am loving it although DH wants to nip it in the bud. He tried to settle him in the Moses basket last night and he was in there for 6minutes. DH did not have the energy to try again. If he cannot be arsed when he does nothing else at night, then I am having him in bed with me.

First night without painkillers needed. Very pleased.

LeBFG · 09/11/2012 10:16

It's soooo easy to forget the number of poos a newborn does. You change day and night for what seems like ages. I've also got some of those newborn night gowns on ebay so you don't have to undo pjs in the middle of the night. I hope this will help.

The real sad bit VQ is when he's quite happy to sleep by himself and you spend the first night without him. It's really sad. I had a baby-BFG size gap left behind in the bed. Even now, I like it when he (extremely rarely) falls asleep on me. So relaxing. Enjoy it while it lasts, as they say!

ValiumQueen · 09/11/2012 15:51

BFG aww that is lovely (sob, sob). I have three nighties but they drown him at present. At the moment the nappy change is meant to wake him up so he can finish a feed, but in time, I will use them. They are lovely. He has fed. All. The. Time. Today! And I am shattered.

I am really enjoying him again, thankfully. But the breast feeding is so tiring!
