I can't be the only one with a bit of a nappy obsession.

Can I? [confussed]

I think that would be a very good thing to do!

Notgrownupinmyhead · 05/11/2012 15:43

£75 for 10 or 15, I cant remember!! Cosmics.

Are pre folds terry squares with a wrap?

Hey wewere!! Ive supper wee'ers too. Ive been using inserts and boosters. Boosters in the nappy and inserts outside the nappy then wrap! Butts like melons but funny Smile

Just been beasted by the physio. Nice.

Its reet bladdy cold out today!!

ValiumQueen · 05/11/2012 15:48

Pre-folds are more like Muslins and are sewn with the middle third thicker. Folded in various ways for boy, girl, newborn etc.

Pic on profile :o

Now i just have to find the blasted nippas. I've got 4, they're in an envelope together, they're either hiding from me or dp chucked them by accident as part of The Great Autumn Clean we've been having in preparation!

I reckon the prefolds will be useful as boosters, burp cloths and under his head in the crib to catch drool as well as actually keeping his bum dry! Sure I'll find more uses as time goes on :)

LeBFG · 05/11/2012 16:29

I think prefolds will be better than muslins actually - muslins are crap at aborbing liquids and babies (my baby) produce lots of liquid!!!

I love your piccie PP Wink vvverry organised. Can you reach the top without a chair (not sure I could, short arse)? I can see you are trying all possible options! I'm v impressed you bought all that for 80 quid. Where did I go wrong?

Hi to wewere. Night time weeers, mmmm. Stuff, stuff, stuff with fluff. Are the nappies really leaking wet or is it just a leaky wrap perhaps? When they're older, they pee less at night, so perhaps wait a few months and try again?

Is J munching well VQ??

ValiumQueen · 05/11/2012 16:52

Are prefolds made of muslin though? Lots of layers?

J is munching well, but have the ongoing battle with healthcare professionals and the sodding scales. Being weighed tomorrow. Fingers crossed for fatness. Who'd have thought eh?

PurplePidjin · 05/11/2012 16:53

Yeah, that's a built in wardrobe so the rail is about head height (5'4") and it's only Christmas decs above!

The only new one is the £7.49 tb ef in stars. The rest were a combination of clever bundle buying and Very Kind Friends (the other tb ef's were a RAOK off here, totally out of the blue offer of some nappies going spare due to potty training, for example)

wewereherefirst · 05/11/2012 17:49

Prefolds are made of cotton mainly, the middle part is a thicker 'booster' . You can get hemp and bamboo ones too.

wewereherefirst · 05/11/2012 17:54

LeBFG, he's totally saturated and I can't fit the wrap around the boosted fluff as it is. I've tried LL wraps, blueberry, Smartypants, Gro Via and Pocket Bots, so I don't think its a wrap thing... I'm a little obsessed!

Tesco were doing their TBv2 for a fiver recently, I think someone on a cloth site got one for 49p!

wewereherefirst · 05/11/2012 17:55

Purple, what is the spotty one?

PurplePidjin · 05/11/2012 18:39

www.hiphipbaby.co.uk/realeasy.htm

One of ^^ them. From my friend who doesn't like poppers so swapped half a dozen for a crochet lesson :o

wewereherefirst · 05/11/2012 18:49

Ooh good bargain! That's a pretty bit of fluff you've got

LeBFG · 05/11/2012 18:57

Pigj is v proud of her fluffy bits Grin.

PurplePidjin · 05/11/2012 18:59

And another month or so till i get a bum to put in them Wink

That's half a dozen random fitteds btw, not half a dozen real easies. Just realised how that read!

PurplePidjin · 05/11/2012 18:59

[raspberry]

Notgrownupinmyhead · 05/11/2012 20:10

I have some nippas I dont need PP if you want them.

Wewere, do the nappies your'e using have a booster sewn in? I fold the booster 2/3 times then position it over their widge's. seems to help. The boost!! Wink

VQ I cant get over all the farting around and hassle your getting. They should just leave you to enjoy him. Angry

PurplePidjin · 05/11/2012 21:22

Yes please, if i find mine I'll send them back!

Anyone got a good suggestion for a simple nb boy fold? I'm thinking angel with doubling at the front plus maybe a booster; might give me a couple of hours between changes?

Notgrownupinmyhead · 05/11/2012 21:56

I dont need them. Grin

PurplePidjin · 05/11/2012 22:08

Thanks I'll make a note to pass them to a library/free to the next person once I'm done. I think half my stash will be going that way to thank Karma for being nice to me! Local library options are either miles away or part of the evangelical and scarily tie dyed attachment parenting group, though, maybe i should try and start one? Is there any money in it?

ValiumQueen · 06/11/2012 07:30

PP I was thinking of starting a nappy library too, once I have some not I'm daily use. I have to wash daily with two in cloth now. When I was sent to hospital, my mum said she would wash them, then she got ill, so yesterday I washed nearly every sodding nappy I own, none of which had been sluiced. It was not fun, and filled the machine twice.

I cannot see your profile PP, wondering if it is an iPad thing. Is there another way of looking rather than clicking on your name?

PurplePidjin · 06/11/2012 08:34

I've checked, maybe it's an iPad thing? Profile is definitely available...

ValiumQueen · 06/11/2012 10:09

Still cannot see it Sad

Bum Deal Nappies have size 3 bamboo LL nappies for £4.99 each. Some other nice things too, but some quite pricy, eg ruffle and animal nappies. The postage is a bit steep, but as new customer is £4.99. I got a large and small cow wet bag, £4.99 and £1.99 respectively, a bib for £1.99, cow print, and a real nappy key ring, £2.99. I got 3 size 3 LL bamboo nappies too. This is my push present to me, and I will put the bib away for J for Christmas.

LeBFG · 06/11/2012 11:04

VQ - that is a great website. I'm completely in love with the baby legs. Such a good idea when you're changing LO ten times a day.

ValiumQueen · 06/11/2012 11:11

Nearly bought some baby legs as DD2 hates wearing anything on her bottom half at home. I am not sure what I think of the ruffle ones, and the animal ones. A lot of the pocket nappies are rebranded Alva nappies from what I can see. Shame about the postage cost, but I figured it was worth it for what I got. I am going to put a large nappy bag up hanging on the wall, as DD2 got into the nappy bucket last night (DH watching her closely obviously).

ValiumQueen · 06/11/2012 12:22

DS has put on 6oz since Saturday. No more weighing until 6 weeks. Thank fuck!!!
