I can't be the only one with a bit of a nappy obsession.

Can I? [confussed]

Hey VQ, its self cleaning til they're about 6 ish when the foreskin can retract by itself. I just wash/wipe in all directions and leave inside well alone.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 31/10/2012 19:10

Greedy dude Grin

Yeah, thats the story. It took her an age to get the kids back after all that.

Have you taken loads of pics of Jacob in his fluff?? I've done that with David and his butt is huge with all the night time boosting. Funny. They will be getting shown to all his dates when hes older Grin

blonderthanred · 31/10/2012 19:12

I read up on this for a similar reason (!) and my understanding is it can cause more damage to pull them back at this stage. Have you considered circumcising for that reason?

I hate those horrid crystals in Huggies, DS is getting them even after just a short time. Poo is changing so I think cloth tomorrow!

I read up on it as DS1 is 4.5yr and wondered when it would need cleaning inside.

Are those crystals Silica??

LeBFG · 31/10/2012 19:33

Poor you VQ. Remember, you've been through a birth and have a whole new little life to look after. You're bound to be easily upset. Focus on you and your little Jacob. I just wish the hospital had been a bit more understanding Angry.

ValiumQueen · 01/11/2012 01:35

Thank you ladies. DH says he needed circumcision as he had a tight foreskin due to having a huge dick.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 01/11/2012 04:35

Grin VQ.

I think the only things really to look out for apart from redness and swelling is if the wee comes out sideways rather than straight ahead and if there is ballooning of the foreskin when they're having a wee.

Got waaaaaay too many sweets leftover.

LeBFG · 01/11/2012 06:19

Just read about the willy problem VQ. My advice - do not touch. At 2 months, my DS was still peeing into his face and the GP had a good to tug on it. I cried afterwards (it was so painful for him) and it looked blistered too, ballooning when he peed. We looked this up online and the guidelines are very clear. Any attempt to pull at the foreskin is deemed very old fashioned. In almost all cases, the foreskin does this by itself in its own time.

LeBFG · 01/11/2012 07:49

Any update on the baking powder cleaning method?

ValiumQueen · 01/11/2012 08:53

Thank you very much for the advice. DH has been told clearly, and says he did not retract it fully and certainly did not force it.

The small Fuzzis are containing everything even though they are still too big. I tried a bamboozle, but the wrap would not cover it. Gonna practice with the bamboo squares on the doll this morning.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 01/11/2012 09:22

Ahhh the good old wee in the face trick Grin how can such a small being wee so much?!

Just spotted this, any use to anyone?

LeBFG · 01/11/2012 09:35

Notgrownup, how do they poo so much too? When DS was just a tiddly wee thing, DH was asked to change him for the first time. DS lifted his delicate little legs in the air, DS did a huge fart and projectile pooed across the room. The nurse had to wipe the door on the other side down afterwards . DH was v proud Grin.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 01/11/2012 10:10

PP - excellent but I went mad a couple of months ago and got loads Blush

Ha ha BFG I stuck my hand in a big splat of the new boys yesterday morning after not checking inside the nappy first. Hmm when he had just come home meconium was just pouring out of him and going everywhere. Mid nappy change so again all over my hand. I wish I'd seen your projectile poop incident, bet it was funny and gross at the same time. Its always good when the blokes get it.

LeBFG · 01/11/2012 11:53

It was decidely a very welcome bit of light relief in a very difficult period for us. It was the first time I's seen DH smile in days Smile.

His nickname for the first few months was Poo-pong (also a play on the french word 'poupon' for little baby, which the neighbours kept calling him because he was such a baby baby - some babies look quite old for their age, but DS was a real cuddly cutey). He did some fantastic bf turds. THen the weaning came....omg!

ValiumQueen · 01/11/2012 12:18

DS put on 40g in two days, so they are happy at the moment. I am feeling slightly less stressed. As soon as he is above birth weight I will refuse all further monitoring m

LeBFG · 01/11/2012 13:24

Great news VQ.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 01/11/2012 20:33

Dave looks like a proper baby, big moon face with big eyes and chubby cheeks. He laughs when I massage his feets.

VQ get innnn!!! Thats ace, Grin glad you're feeling better now. Wink

PurplePidjin · 01/11/2012 20:49

PidjChick looks like a sugar skull on his photos scans so far Hmm

Glad things are picking up, VQ :)

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 01/11/2012 23:21

Glad that things are improving VQ, saw you posted on the feeding section, there's always good advice to be had there.

BFG love the poo story! I remember before DD was born we joined NCT and they sent a load of info, including a leaflet with photos of poo! Newborn meconium, bf poo, solid poo, so you could see what to expect at what stage. DH and I almost passed out with shock/horror!

Notgrownupinmyhead · 02/11/2012 05:16

Sugar skulls are cool. I collect skulls and have 2 from Cuba.

Ive been drying the cheapies in the drier and one of them, the pu has come away from the cloth, still works though just need to remember to airer them!

ValiumQueen · 02/11/2012 10:47

Day 3 of my boy in cloth and loving it! I hated changing the rough paper nappies (Huggies so not cheap crap ones) and his bottom had been bleeding raw. It is a different experience and bottom now. I look forward to nappy changes, and he is mostly happy during them. Bottom lovely, not a leak in sight. Why doesn't everyone use them?

LL sale starts tonight at 8pm! Lots in it apparently, so if you have not liked them on FB yet, do so. I am gonna get a few microfibre size 1s, not because i need them, but because I can (been given money for baby).

I was also given a changing bag. Never had anything other than the free boots one. It is a tad old fashioned (antler) and not my colour, but is a tardis. I fitted everything me and baby needed for 2 nights in it, with room to spare Grin

ValiumQueen · 02/11/2012 12:39

Dangerously high BP now, so off to be admitted anyway. Grr! Me, not baby.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 02/11/2012 13:13

No way!! What next? Ffs. Its their fault stressing you out the other day. Angry

I try and get who I can into cloth and still no joy. Ill just be a loner. Sad

How is Jacob doing? Bet he looks well cute in cloth, pink or not. Who cares what colour it is?!

Ive just weighed myself and 4stone needs to go. 1 stone is baby weight but looking at ma gut looks like more. Might not look as bad when I sort my stomach muscles out.

Cant wait for the LL sale!!

Notgrownupinmyhead · 02/11/2012 14:43

Ive just discovered my washing machine had a nappy wash setting.

What a throbber.
