I can't be the only one with a bit of a nappy obsession.

Can I? [confussed]

LeBFG · 17/10/2012 16:34

Err, not for me thanks VQ, I have three already Hmm.

Biscuit - nappy lady says the onelife wraps wick a bit. Have you found that yet (I don't want to buy yet more wraps that'll wick - perhaps I should bite the bullet and buy some motherease after all)

NumptyDumty · 17/10/2012 18:00

Thanks guys!

Luckily for us my OH has a friend in work with a DS 6 months older than ours so we have saved a fortune on clothes by having most of his hand me downs, so instead of spending loads on cute little outfits I've spent it on nappies instead!

VQ my microfibre LL are crap really good for being quick drying but I won't leave the house with them, there also really bulky so make his bum look very cute but then his pants are too tight!

BFG aren't LL bamboo and bamboozles very similar anyway? You would be better off saving penny's!

I'm very happy to be part of your gang, I've never been in one before Grin

NumptyDumty · 17/10/2012 18:01

Also never thought of shopping in charity shops for nappies.... When I'm next out I will have to have a nose

They had it marked as a swim nappy :o

Actually, could you cover a despicable with a wrap for swimming?

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 18:44

A despicable? Is that a new brand? Not an attractive name Grin if you mean disposable, then no. Better just using a regular washable, like a pocket, but with no insert.

numpty not suprised by your comment about the LL microfibre. That saves me a few quid.

Been looking at reviews of one life. Wraps good, nappies not so. So far anyway.

Thinking perhaps I should have spent my £11 on another blueberry, but hey ho, I needed some little wraps too, and I can always sell them on for profit on eBay. DD2 will not be in nappies long now anyway. Note to self- do not buy on impulse!

DDs skin is fine tonight, and new liner looking good. A bit short, but it is only a prototype so will see how it goes.

Need to source 300gsm fleece now.

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 18:46

Charity shop for fleece! Buy men's or ladies fleeces! A lot cheaper than on a roll.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 17/10/2012 20:36

Yo ND!! GrinGrin

Grunty pants is the new boy 4wo now and beefcake is the 1yr old and all you get out if him is 'uck' Grin

What size wrap are you after VQ? Ive alot. TB and Motherease in size 2 ill post you one if you want in exchange for fleece liners??

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 21:10

What, my make a million liners? Grin I have just won two fleece wraps tots bots on eBay to fit DD, about 15mins ago. I am only short size 1 ones now, although I would love to see a motherease in the flesh. Seriously though, fleece liners would be a very poor deal for you. They are so easy to make, and I can ask my DH to put the shape on a computer file or something and email it to you, it just needs a bit of work. I think the shape of a liner is quite important with a bamboo nappy, as they get wet right up to the waist.

Thank you for the kind offer though Smile perhaps if I included fudge it would be a fairer swap?

Notgrownupinmyhead · 17/10/2012 21:13

Numptu does that mean we are a girl gang? Wink

We shall beat people with our nappies!!

I'd never thought if looking in charity shops either. Another excuse to go in them!!

Ive boosted boy3 bamboozle and snugged the wrap a bit more round him.

Boy2 is consistent now with roll off poo apart from this mornings but that was the curry we had last night probably. Its only the 2nd time hes wolfed it down eaten it.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 17/10/2012 21:14

Sold to the large baby producer up there! What size? If its 2 do you need velcro or popper fastening??

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 21:17

Any size, but poppa please Grin. It might take me a little while, but I will message you when fudge and liners are completed Grin

Notgrownupinmyhead · 17/10/2012 21:24

Ok VQ. Ill send you a 2. I bought loads off Ebay and use them at night time, I get on with them and are washed in Fairy. Do you want it before or after fudge??

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 21:27

Thank you notgrownup I will message you. Smile

Off to bed to dream of fluff!

blonderthanred · 17/10/2012 22:14

Apologies if this is old news to all of you but I was looking through all the bumpf I've been given in the last 9 months and there is a totsbots deal code: BTRIALP12 in the Bounty booklet.

It's for a trial pack of 1 x Teenyfit, 1 x Easyfit, 1 x Bamboozle Stretch size 1, 1 x wrap size 0 for £23 instead of £46.

This is the link, hope it works.

ValiumQueen · 18/10/2012 06:39

Ooh thank you blonder I did not see that!

Notgrownupinmyhead · 18/10/2012 09:59

Feck feckity feck I threw it out so thanks for the link!! GrinGrin

Nappy wash day yay! Not.

Im trying to convert people to the land of fluff but they're not into the faff. I think my bessie mate might though her ds is 3 days older than new boy. Trying a different detergent next time to try and get rid of the smell. Strip washing today.

NumptyDumty · 18/10/2012 10:34

So postie brought me a parcel today Grin

Don't know if anyone was involved in the Random Act of Kindness group on Facebook last week? basically people gave away nappies for postage, so kinda like a big swap, was fun although i missed out on all the new stuff because i was too slow!

Anyway that's what the postman brought me, only thing is they stink... absolutely honk! I know it was technically a freebie but i gave away some lovely fleece soakers that were too big for my DS so didn't work for us.

My question is this.... is white vinegar the best solution?

Apart from the stink and they are obviously quite well worn they look ok i suppose .... Hmm feels cheated out of my lovely soakers

NumptyDumty · 18/10/2012 10:36

Notgrownup i have brought my best friend round to cloth but her little girl is PT'ing so i was a little too late, be lovely if your friend tries it then you can talk nappies in RL haha!

LeBFG · 18/10/2012 10:53

Numpty - yes, yes, yes to the vinegar. I can't believe people even use stinky nappies let alone give them away/sell them. It boggles belief that they's put their own childrens' tender bottoms in it. All that ammonia must hurt them?

Feeling pangs of envy at all the little fluff parcels arriving at your houses!

PurplePidjin · 18/10/2012 10:53

I was on that, Numpty, but don't have pp (can ask my dad) so wouldn't have been able to pay for postage quick enough.

My wet bag arrived today, it's very big and has lots of guitars on :o

Notgrownupinmyhead · 18/10/2012 12:09

I treated myself to a hobo wetbag yesterday.

The ammonia smell in the mornings lasted about a week or so and just smell of normal wee. The smell I can smell isnt a wee or poo smell so I mustn't be rinsing them properly and I can only smell it when I put my nose right against it (washed) and sniff right up and Its there even though its faint its still a stinky to me Grin

I signed up to one of those fb nappy pages and they seem cheaper on ebay but ill keep checking it.

Vinegar or dishwasher tablets help with proper stinky pants Wink

Notgrownupinmyhead · 18/10/2012 12:22

Hobo has just arrived and its huge!!!

LeBFG · 18/10/2012 12:52

Night-time pee can be a bit strong because there is a lot of it hanging around for upto 12 hours. I suppose if you peed in the toilet without flushing and came back in the morning it would smell a bit. I was wondering, if you rinsed out the pee from the night nappy each morning before putting into the wash basket, would this help?

Am well envious of all you poo-rollers too. I'm cursed with a sticker!!!

LeBFG · 18/10/2012 13:21

Talking about washing (my favorite topic it seems), I wouldn't mind trying a washing powder every now and then. My nappies are so clean they don't smell of anything plus I like washing the odd item of clothing with the nappies and prefer them to smell of something. Problem is, every bloody box of powder in the supermarket contains bleaching agents. I would like to order something. Any ideas? I guess the Bambino Miocare would be the most likely to be ok for nappies?

Notgrownupinmyhead · 18/10/2012 13:36

Im willing ti give anything a go but its not a wee smell. It might just be me being a freak and thinking I can smell something. Grin

Do you have the usual detergents over there?? Ill do an extra rinse at the end of the super rinse cycle and see.

Are there alot of cloth users where you all live? I dont think theres alot where i am, i get strange looks when talking about them.
