I can't be the only one with a bit of a nappy obsession.

Can I? [confussed]

498 to go then Wink

PurplePidjin · 16/10/2012 20:45

Hooray, showed dp the pic of the wetbag and he likes it :o

Also showed him some ebay cheapies with footballs on and not only did he like those, he expressed a preference for an animal print one

I might be in the market for some minky cows in a couple of months!

NumptyDumty · 16/10/2012 21:42

We've got a bit of a selection...

TB bamboozles (old style and the new Strechies) TB easy fits, LL microfibre and quite a few eBay cheapies.

Bamboozles are my fave for night time and easy fits seem to be working best for us during the day (i did well and picked up a truck load of starburst when tesco had there promotion on :-))

Gosh, you're doing well Numpty. And converting DP too. I'm not sure many of us fall into that category. I've looked with envy at the bamboozles but have decided a load of prefolds and bamboo LL and Nature Babies will be enough for the newbie.

Lots of [bew] and sympathy to VQ this morning. Hope today goes better.

PP I heart minky cows. I've always had a soft spot for cows.

It does seem harder and harder to get cheap seconds now. THe fb pages sometimes have really cheap offers (frequently not the AIO types - these seem to hold value really well, specially the less common cow print style things). YOu can also snipe a few deals of ebay. But I agree, on the whole, no where near as cheap as once was.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 17/10/2012 09:22

Im another one who uses TB Bamboozles for night. New boy went right through his though and left me an explosion this morning, thanks son! Must boost it tonight, thought i could get away with it.

Ive got 15 size one bamboozles and 15 size two. 10 cosmic easyfits and about 20 Ebay cheapies. Wink and they're not that bad really, I use them on new boy and fatty is in the Easyfits in the day.

Im loving the wetbags! Where sells the Wee ones? I need one!!

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 09:40

I am so pissed off with Tesco. Live near a huge Tesco extra and they only recently started stocking terrys. No chance of an easyfit bargain. Very jealous of those who got some. I keep looking on Tesco direct for an offer, but still at full price.

numpty what do you think of the microfibre LLs?

notgrownup I am amazed little boy defeated a bamboozle! Was it a size 1 or 2? I am hoping my 2s will work unboosted otherwise his arse will be the size of a small planet.

DD got blisters off her LL wrap overnight. Not happy.

BFG the LL bamboo do the job just as well as the bamboozles IMO. Save your pennies for cow prints!

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 09:41

Fatty Grin

Notgrownupinmyhead · 17/10/2012 09:49

VQ it was a size one but it could have been down to the big shite he'd done or me not fastening it tight enough with him being new and all that.

Poor DD Sad is she ok?

Notgrownupinmyhead · 17/10/2012 09:50

Ooh hes a right beefcake. Babyboobs he has. Hmm

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 10:19

DD seems to have stupidly sensitive skin. I have put metanium on the blisters, that were broken and although she winced, it seemed to help. She was very restless overnight so may be to do with that. She was in with me from 3am and did not complain of soreness. Nappy was not as wet as it often is, so I believe it was the stupid wrap. Will use the blueberry each night now, and get a fleece soaker as soon as possible.

I think my boy will be a beefcake if he is anything like his daddy. Thankfully the girls have inherited my build more or less. I was quite slim until I started dieting and messed up my metabolism. nothing to do with the crap I eat, like apple crumble for breakfast today

Notgrownupinmyhead · 17/10/2012 11:20

Bless her, what wrap was it? Beefcake takes after his dad he is of rubenesque stature.

Babies grunting kept me awake again most of the night so shall be going to sleep in a mo.

What were the Tesco offers? Shouldn't really buy more fluff but cant help it!!

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 11:33

Every now and again Tesco sell the tots bots easyfits for between £3 and £4 each. The cosmic print, cherries, flower power etc, so older prints. They are still £15 on the website, but have been known to go that low there too. There are loads on eBay so I think folk are buying in bulk and selling on, which is what I would do probably.

The wrap that causes the most problems is a Little Lamb bombproof which I got new, only £4 granted, but the Velcro has a tendency to rub her thighs, but last night it was the elastic so I possibly did it up wrong trying to keep the Velcro away from her skin.

I only use bamboo at night now, so only need a wrap at night. I am gaining in confidence with the other nappies, and even keeping them on her to go out. Occasionally get a leak, but only if I have left it too long. One of the nappies (fuzzi) the other day was so heavy when I took it off her, I could almost pour wee out, and there was the tiniest drip on her trousers. She had been at my mums and mum is scared of the washables so had not touched it. I think she waits for leaks tbh. I have shown her how to check. When DD was in disposables, she would change her hourly, whether it was wet or not! She is nearly 70 so can be forgiven.

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 11:41

I want to buy some size 1bamboos but I do not need them.

I need to buy wraps size 1 as I only have 1 and my blueberry. Not sure how the blueberry will do on a little one. I will try it before I buy more size 1 wraps.

I feel the urge to make things, but do not have the energy. I still have not finished my fabulous liners ffs! I did cut up my old wraps though in readiness for making training pants. They were past use or selling, and a lot of the pul came off when in the wash. They will only be a waterproof layer, not touching skin at all.

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 13:36

Does anyone use fleece Longies? I prefer the idea to wool ones, and would be good for DD as she will not wear pj bottoms, but may wear funky Longies. I could duplicate them too.

LeBFG · 17/10/2012 14:31

she will not wear pj bottoms Your DD sounds like a little character - bless.

When there's a free tutorial you can adapt? Wink

PurplePidjin · 17/10/2012 15:06

katrinassqs.blogspot.co.uk/2007/10/free-soaker-pattern.html

She might prefer a soaker though :)

PurplePidjin · 17/10/2012 15:12

Actually, i reckon you could easily adapt that second one for a pop in booster to transition from nappy to pants...

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 17/10/2012 15:34

Welcome Numpty! V impressed by your stash already...

Just spotted the Nappy Lady has some size 3 onelife wraps for £3, I'm using these on chunky 14mo DD with our bumbles, they're popper fastening, v similar to motherease airflow - just thought I would mention for anyone like purple planning ahead or for VQ DD at night?

Notgrownup your grunting beefcake sounds so cute - hope you managed to get a nap.

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 16:03

I think I love you PP Grin. The second link has a link to a Longies pattern which is just perfect for what I need.

BFG she sure has personality!

biscuits I just saw them and was going to google them, so thanks for the recommendation.

I was reading what the nappy lady was saying about absorbencies, and I got very confused. I might do my own testing.

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 16:13

Just bought 3 of those wraps, and also bought the two weeny ones as they can be fixed no doubt. Also got the microfibre inserts as it was cheaper than paying postage. Thank you biscuit.

Anyone wanna buy some scratchy nasty LL wraps?

PurplePidjin · 17/10/2012 16:23

Blush my pleasure, vq :)

I'm very proud of my Mum. Nature Babies size S, purple galaxy type print...

£1.50 in the red cross shop :o

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 16:26

Wow PP what a bargain!

There is a shop near me, forgive me if I have already mentioned it, and they have the grottiest used nappies at about £5 each. Wraps even more! No wonder they never sell any! (or so it seems)

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 16:28

I cut out my prototype liner today. Will use it tonight and adapt pattern as necessary. It is pink with white flowers. Fussy-no-pants will (hopefully) approve.

PurplePidjin · 17/10/2012 16:34

I got 60 something prefolds and 18 wraps for £46 all in, and 10 various fitteds for £30 all in. £5 better be something pretty bloody special, and clean to boot!

Just checked, new Nature Babies wraps are £8.99 :o
