rasputin - cup of tea, some paracetamol and a hot water bottle and some chocolate as it's too early for gin

winny - nope, not finished. Not started. Can't think of anything. I've decided I just plain don't like short stories...gah!

rasputin Grin

I feel more at home with poetry too - my own writing is always poems. My prose always feels clunky and unnatural. I will have to do my EMA a poetry collection I think, or I'm doomed.

winnybella · 17/01/2012 12:23

I had a nap Hmm, bowl of soup and now am sitting here in panic.

I read that the inability to start a long or challenging project (especially one that is 'ordered' by someone else) is one of the symptoms of ADD (i.e. one without the hyperactivity bit).

FFS. Again, here I am, few hours before deadline and no idea what to write.

My hands are cold, too-but I think it's because I'm sluggish and not moving enough.

Anf this tma is worth 30%.

Ok, I'm giving myself 10 minutes to write, then I'll take a break. Maybe I'll get some ideas.

I'm going to do shops and school run now. I have been wasting time and even nearly waded in on the skinny/bootcut thread on S&B which just shows how bad this bloody procrastination has got Angry

winnybella · 17/01/2012 20:37

AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH.

wildstrawberryplace · 18/01/2012 09:50

Morning.

How did you get on winny?

I have to finish mine by midnight tonight. Well, I say finish, I haven't actually started yet Confused

Did you submit rasputin?

OP posts:
winnybella · 18/01/2012 10:21

Nope, haven't started finished. Deadline expired last night, I'm hoping the tutor will be merciful and let me submit tonight.

I haven't got any ideas, though- it's that dear in the headlights thing.

Let's motivate each other. Hmm, I bet you will not have written 500 words by 3 pm.

Hmm Grin
winnybella · 18/01/2012 10:22

*deer, not dear

chipmunksex · 18/01/2012 13:44

How you all doing?
I have done nothing except print stuff off and arrange it beautifully in my new folder in the last 10 days.
( why is reading about someone's itchy nethers, so much more interesting that what Rawls has to say about religion in politics?) Hmm

Melty · 18/01/2012 18:24

Well, I am up to my tricks again.
I have 3 lectures to watch tonight, ready for the tutorial tomorrow.
(should only have one, but I haven't got round to watching the others.)
I am still buggy and coldy, and absolutely wrecked, so spent the weekend asleep, and have crashed each evening this week.
I have no choice tonight, plus if I dont watch them, I have no chance of doing a decent essay. Which is due the 31st.
I might need to understand the concepts of research a bit more to actually write the blessed thing.
Am just in from work, have to eat then get stuck in.

Melty · 18/01/2012 18:33

And am such a procrastinator, I even procrastinated writing on this thread.
Its in my "watching" list, and I have felt too guilty to join in.
Part of my assessment comes from attending and taking part in the online tutorials, and I missed one before Christmas, was sick after Christmas, and contributed exactly nothing (as I hadnt watched the lectures) last week.

[Weeps]

wildstrawberryplace · 18/01/2012 20:26

God. Just. God.

OP posts:
winnybella · 18/01/2012 20:33

Yep. Me too. Also got an email from OU asking whether I want to withdraw from one of the courses, so my chances of succeeding at the other are greater as apparently it's very unlikely that I'll be able to catch up Hmm That's because I failed to submit 2 tmas. A bit snotty it was and basically encouraging me to drop out. I know that I am a horrible procrastinator who is capable of getting decent grades (as my record shows) so I didn't take it to heart too much, but if they send such discouraging emails to people who genuinely are struggling, then that's not very supportive (I mean, I am obv. struggling as well but ykwim).

Anyway, how are you doing? Did you get anything written? Have you got an idea, plan?

chipmunksex · 18/01/2012 20:55

2 courses at once-wow what are ya gonna do?

Wine all around

winnybella · 18/01/2012 21:01

Well done on arranging materials in your folder, chipmunk Grin

Oh, I'm going to persevere somehow- no way I'm droping out of a course that cost me 1600 pounds (am outside the UK).

winnybella · 18/01/2012 22:06
chipmunksex · 18/01/2012 22:10

nose to grindstone then winny-just get on with it and stop fannying about arranging statinery items

Try and tick something off every day, however small maybe?

Can I help by whipping your ass? Grin

winnybella · 18/01/2012 22:16

Erm, I've got to write a fucking short story before tomorrow morning (and even then I don't know whether it will be accepted as am late).

Panic, panic, panic.

chipmunksex · 18/01/2012 22:22

Well get the fuck off mumsnet and get on with it winny! Angry

(That's me whipping your ass btw)

(senses she's not helpingHmm)
