MMR - was your child ever the same afterwards?

just wondering what your thoughts are? Feel like my child changed after having it and now nearly 2 years on having problems with ds on the language and social side! Yet to be confirmed if he is autistic. Did you have this combined vaccine and if you haven't yet I would advise going private and getting the single jabs. Don't take that risk!

DD definitely had a reaction to the MMR - she was grumpy, fragile and generally not herself for about 6 weeks afterwards.

Had I read this sort of thread then, I'm sure I would have been worried it was a sign of incipient autism, caused by the MMR.

After 6 weeks however she came out the other side and was back to her old self. She now has excellent speech and no signs (touch wood) of autism. So, I think she had a temporary reaction to the MMR, but no permanent effects.

I think it's dangerous to judge in the period just after the jab as the previous US poster suggests (talking about how different the affected kids were just HOURS after the MMR). There may be a temporary reaction but it takes a lot longer to know if it's permanent.
