Have been very good today - have a roughish version of one section which is where I hoped to be by the end of the day (its double the allowed wordcount at the moment!). As the TMA is more of a report than an essay I am hoping it won't cause me masses of angst.

Needed to get on with something to distract me from DD2's driving test this morning - she passedGrin

winnybella · 28/02/2011 15:24

I'm still on the February assignment, due tomorrow Hmm
Haven't started writing yet.

Will be back here on Wednesday.

Good work, schroeder. Well done webwiz's DD!

Oh, FGS. Angry

Had 2 hrs while DD was napping and I couldn't make myself write anything.

So it's going to be usual, write the whole essay in 4 hours in the evening thing. Again.

Espressos will be needed, but Wine would be nicer...

Yeah, I'll do it,I've no choice but it won't be great. Oh well.

When's yours due? My next one isn't til April 5th, I think. But have to read a novel by James (and 2 others), whom I like a lot, but it's not the easiest read iyswim.

Not that this is a surprise as you seem to only get firsts, iirc? Grin

Well done!!!

I'll be lucky if I'll get a low 2.1 for this one.

Hello! Can I join you? I'm still trying to write mine (due tomorrow at midday) and doing anything rather than get on with it. Have just come back from taking the kids to see Flawless and have buggered about tidying things, so I guess it's going to be an all-nighter. Except I usually fall asleep face down on the keyboard.

I'm struggling to be honest because I got bogged down on the wrong thing and now there's not enough time to put it right. I suppose it's better to just submit something crappy rather than nothing at all? It's only worth 10% of the final mark. Why, why, why can't I just get on with things in plenty of time? It must be less stressful.

Hope you all get on OK.

winnybella · 01/03/2011 23:53

I didn't get on in the end and asked for anoter extension. About 2 hours before the end of this extension Hmm. No reply yet (surprisingly).

Yes, yes, deffo better to send it, even if it's not your magnum opus- it'll make a big difference to your OCAS.

I didn't send one tma earlier in the course as I didn't feel it was good enough and now have an extra pressure to perform to get the grade I want. Substitution for 0 points doesn't really give you that much iyswim.

What's your tma about?

mmsmum · 02/03/2011 10:56

I'm also Envy at 87!

I've got tma4 due on the 17th and I am not leaving it til the last minute again! I'm going to make a start on the reading this week, do extra reading and planning next week and then writing in the final week.

Sounds much better than trying to squeeze it all into 2 days and I want a higher mark this time, I have yet to get over 70 so far

schroeder · 02/03/2011 11:47

I dream of 87Smile.

Now tell me to turn of the 'puter 'cause I really have to crack on with this stupid essay. All I really want to write is;

Sir Humprey Davy
Was not fond of gravy
Lived in the odiom
Of having discovered sodium.

And I don't think it's long enough nor pertinent to be honestGrin.

Oh bloody hell, that was, and still is, awful. Managed to hit the submit button at 11.57am for my midday deadline but my hands were shaking so much I nearly didn't manage it. Then I terrified myself by thinking I'd sent the wrong document and submitted a letter to my daughter's PE teacher asking that she be excused on the grounds of being pathetic bruised toe.

Mind you, maybe it would have been better if I had. I'm so mortified at the work I have produced - it's worse than awful. No structure, all waffle, no relevance, not properly checked, referencing all to hell ... and all my own fault Sad I'm actually too embarrassed to look at it again and don't think I will be able to look my tutor in the eye. Next time I will read the question properly and then just get on with it. Yeh, right.

Still, at least it was submitted and it's not a huge percentage of the module. It's the first OU course I've ever undertaken - doing U211, Exploring the English Language. Not that anything in my essay remotely resembled good English!

Anyone else care to share tales of disasters to cheer me up?
