How long did you have your LO in just babygrows?

Hello,

I'm just wondering really, my DS is 7 weeks old and up till now he's just been wearing babygrows. I've popped him in little jeans once, but to be honest he just looks uncomfortable.

I asked a friend about it and she said she's had her DS in 'day clothes' since he was born.

So how long did your LO's stay in babygrows before you introduced so called day clothes?

sleepywombat DS does as well. In summer he gets heat rash and in Australia that was and is grisly - I know what you mean. He slept in just a nappy when it was very hot. Sadly that isn't an option now as eczema means he scratches (v sensitive skin all round).

It's so cold at the moment he has a vest, then a couple of t shirts, then tracksuit type bottoms/dungarees/trousers and a sweater. Down-filled coat ith hood wand gloves for outside, with ugg boots. But it is several degrees below freezing - don't usually bundle him that much! And he used to refuse to wear hat and gloves until it got really cold and the comfort factor hit home, so I used to use a 2nd hand pashmina from Ebay (posh people sell bobbly ones, and they're still warm, light cashmere but v v cheap!) wrapped around his chest and head in the buggy. It would cover his hands without him protesting as he did with gloves.

In the summer DS wore sleeveless vests rarely a babygro. In the winter he is wearing longsleeve vests under babygros, sometimes with a short sleeve too. Outside I either give him a cardi and a hat (in car, shops or short walks in sling) or a snowsuit if I am walking all the way into town with the sling (i find he gets too hot in a snowsuit for just popping between car and shops)

A year with first DC, a couple of months with 2nd.

First DC was a DS, 2nd a DD. Had so many cute outfits for DD just had to. I thought DS looked better in babygro (and it was easier - real screamer!)

Freezing at the moment - ds is in a long sleeved vest, babygro, t-shirt, jogging bottoms, socks and a cardi Grin

DD1 born at the beginning of summer so had lots of short dungarees & short all-in-ones, plus she has a short torso and long legs so quite hard to fit. Had lots of soft knit tops/leggins for winter.

DD2 born at the end of summer in babygros forever. We also lived in the US for most of her babyhood and you can get really big and nice babygros there, and she is tiny. We did a lot of travelling when she was 16mos and she wore a babygro most of the time! She still loves them for pjs at 2.5. Must get my mum to send me some more big ones.
