Close the browser. Turn the WIFI off and get on with it.

Blimey. I would never have started it with more than 48 hours to go!!

Go write a plan...

winnybella · 31/10/2010 10:36

Thanks Katy- fab news about your dd's sight, btw.

That's the problem, though, that I haven't figured out the angle from which to approach it.

Don't want to do boring, para by para analysis- want to take out the most important issues and analyze them to death. My brain won't cooperate, though. Feeling lazy.

Thanks guys. What are you doing Prolesworth?

Yeah, I always leave it til last minute, but have promised myself it'll be different this time and it's my first 3 level course- would be gutted to get low mark.

You have to start writing something, or you will never overcome the inertia. If you haven't got your whizz bang ideas together yet, start with the plodding stuff and the whizz bang stuff will come when you get to that bit. Thank goodness for word processing I say, where you don't have to start again when you change tack!

winnybella that's why the spray diagram (spidergram?) is so important; throw it all down on paper & see what you have

(Thanks)

Cracking a whip

KatyMac · 31/10/2010 13:37

Ladies - how are you doing?

winnybella · 31/10/2010 14:09

I have a choice on passages from two novels and just now I'm thinking of doing the other one.

Just read the extract, didn't write anything yet.

Meh.

Do a spray diagram for each then pick the one that works best

Come on, come on

You can do better than that

Do I have anything to proof read yet?

TheFallenMadonna · 31/10/2010 16:11

Get writing! Blimey - I once realised (in the olden days of posting TMAs) that I really had to get it in the post the next morning, so started writing my TMA at midnight after 2 margaritas and half a bottle of red. I finished at 5am (after much coffee). You have to get writing - reading does not get you any further forward

KatyMac · 31/10/2010 16:18

I did mine with a broken toe.....come on get something written

winnybella · 31/10/2010 16:19

I've done a few of those, FallenMadonna! I promised myself I wouldn't do it anymore Hmm.

No real progress here, I did type all the quotes I'll use with references etc so it felt like I was doing something.

Just made fondant au chocolat, will have a slice or two and some strong tea and will start again.

Did you finish your ECA, then, Katy? (I lurked on your thread)

TheFallenMadonna · 31/10/2010 16:22

Seriously - start with the boring plodding stuff and you will be inspired. I did tend to develop my arguments once I got started. As I said, it's easy to rearrange, expand and delete. Good luck, and stop procrastinating.

I always left it 'til the lat minute BTW. I need the adrenaline to make it happen Grin
