Hellooooooo!

No problem with poisoning the rats (other than I found it difficult as I had grown fond of them and I hate having to kill anything (chickens for dinner excepted )

Tbh I don't think cats would eat a dead rat anyway. It's all in the thrill of the chase for them. They are never interested in anything once it's dead and they've played catch with it.
They don't always eat what they kill either. It's just a fun thing they do.
They are hard-wired for the stalking, catching, playing and killing bit. If they are hungry they might eat it (or a choice bit of it) but not always.

Mmmmmm local food fair.....

Berrie · 23/05/2010 18:43

Didn't go to food fair, didn't go to allotment, didn't do the clothes!

Afternoon.
Been in for my epidural injection this morning. It was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!
It bloody hurt!
Am resting now at home but think I will pop up and get the kids later. I think I'll be ok to drive by then. Nice to get a day off but not worth it!

OP posts:
Berrie · 24/05/2010 16:36

Note to self...next time arrange for someone else to get kids...can't belive I have to have two more!

OP posts:
Berrie · 24/05/2010 16:45

Epidural injections not children.

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 24/05/2010 20:54

Are the injections helping, Berrie?
Oggs, how long till the festival? Have you got a lot to organise?

I'm getting all nervous about tomorrow
First I have to get to Dover on time, which will be stressful if there are any hold-ups, then I have to spend 6 hours travelling with people I don't know
I'm sure it'll all be worth it. I'll report back in a coupla days.
See ya!

Berrie · 24/05/2010 21:28

I think they have a cumalative effect and they are only for leg pain anyway.

Have a great time Lyra!!!!I'm sure it will be fine.

Festival this weekend. Dh very busy but I'm not.

Epidurals don't sound nice Berrie.

Hope you have a fantastic time Lyra!

Berrie · 25/05/2010 13:12

Guess it's just you and me Oggs.
Feeling pretty grumpy today. I was traumatised yesterday and I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself that no-one came with me. Having said that, I'm not sure I'd want DH to waste 2 days holiday for the next ones so he can't win.

I have just sorted the clothes mountain into mini - or not so mini mountains. There is the dc underwear and pj's mound and our underwear mound. There is a towering heap of just put it away and then Mount ought to iron it. Mount ought to iron it of course now needs splitting into peak oh ok then if I must and Mt you are having a laugh.

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 25/05/2010 14:22

I used to quite like ironing. I haven't done it for nearly 15 years now.

I bought a second hand travel iron to use for blocking my knitting with and dd very occasionally has a go at ironing something.

I used to do it on a Sunday while an old film was on tv in the afternoon. Quite relaxing.

Not that you want to hear any of that

Dd and me are off for haircuts after school.

Berrie · 25/05/2010 14:39

I don't actually really mind ironing. I just can't be arsed to do it and prefer anyway to be recumbant.

Having anything daring done? I fancy a bob but am too scared!

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 26/05/2010 07:08

Dd now has it shorter on one side than the other
I have a sort of shaggy bobbish layered chin length cut. There was a huge pile on the floor when she'd finished.

I hate going to the hairdressers because of the whole tipping thing. I never know what to do. Are you supposed to tip? What if it's the owner who cuts your hair? I don't usually tip anything.
If they want/expect more money they should just ask me for it . I don't tip the woman in Tesco or a solicitor or a mechanic... why hairdressers?
It came to £14.70 for the two of us. I gave her £15.
Honestly, I wold rather they charged me more than leave me tying myself in knots over what to do.

ghostofoggs · 26/05/2010 07:09
Grin
Berrie · 26/05/2010 07:15

They don't deserve a tip if it's wonky!
I've never tipped a hairdresser in my life.

Work today then ironing....lots of ironing.

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 26/05/2010 07:31

Noooooooooo... dd wanted her hair shorter on one side than the other. I believe it's something quaint called 'fashion'

Berrie · 26/05/2010 12:33

Tee hee!

Is she a punk?

OP posts:
Berrie · 26/05/2010 18:50

I wonder how Lyra is getting on?

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 26/05/2010 22:17

I'm back!! It was AMAZING!!!
The other girls were lovely, we listened to Muse CDs all the way to Paris, then got lost in the craziness of Paris traffic, picked up our wristbands from the venue, got lost again finding the hotel, dumped our stuff, freshened up and headed to the gig. The venue was tiny, the band were relaxed and chatty like I've never seen them before, we got two songs they'd never played live before, the first outing of Matt's new double-necked guitar, and the return of a much-loved favourite song that they haven't played in years. It was all stripped down, no fancy visuals, just three guys on a stage having a great time and a very appreciative and energetic audience.
We then went for drinks and chat - our hotel was directly opposite the Moulin Rouge so the area was busy and buzzing till well into the night.
Set off at 9am for the trip back, got home at 5.30pm knackered but it was all well worth it.
Feeling sad that my little two-day adventure is over but I've made three new friends and been to a real one-off gig.

17 days till Stade de France

ghostofoggs · 27/05/2010 07:22

So you had a good time then?

I have the delights of Sports Day today, then it's Festival weekend starting tonight.

Berrie · 27/05/2010 07:35

Berrie · 27/05/2010 14:51

Lovely here today. it rained last night though...just after I'd given the garden a good watering!

We're off on half-term hols tomorrow to a caravan park on the Yorkshire coast so I prob won't get online much (they have Wi-fi but it costs money so I may not bother).
Have a lovely week, y'all.

Berrie · 29/05/2010 08:18
