i don't mind depressing music, but hate how all the smiths stuff sounds the same

starlover · 17/06/2005 12:07

i hate them too... i have nothing against depressing music (being a manics fan)... but agree that they sound the same.. a bit like an unhappy choir boy

HappyHuggy · 17/06/2005 12:07

starlover · 17/06/2005 12:08

NomDePlume · 17/06/2005 12:11

i like em, no shame. How can you not love the lyrics to Frankly, Mr Shankly ? Comic genius, albeit dark. Although Morrisey has gone up his own a-hole lately

skerriesmum · 17/06/2005 12:13

Love them, best band that ever came out of the 80s, pure genius.

katierocket · 17/06/2005 12:24

love them
and joy division.

definitely a particular era though, I think you only appreciate them if you were an angst ridden teenager when they first appeared.

tarantula · 17/06/2005 12:26

HappyHuggy · 17/06/2005 12:30

katierocket · 17/06/2005 12:36

HappyHuggy · 17/06/2005 12:36

MumOfTroubledTeen · 17/06/2005 12:37

You'll recognise a couple of their songs, I'll bet, Huggy. We're the same age (give or take a year or so) and I know who they are.

HappyHuggy · 17/06/2005 12:39

im 22

MumOfTroubledTeen · 17/06/2005 12:40

i know

Rhubarb · 17/06/2005 12:40

Hate 'me, hate 'em, hate 'em! Wow I used to think that Custy and I shared no common interests in music whatsoever! I still far better taste, obviously, but I agree that The Smiths should be put out of their misery as should Radiohead. Yeah yeah, you're so bloody depressed and life's a bitch, geez GET OVER IT! Whingeing whining bloody millionaires!

HappyHuggy · 17/06/2005 12:41

havent you got a 13 year old?

wow

TinyGang · 17/06/2005 12:41

I liked the smiths All teenage angst, misery and despair with the odd gladioli slung in for good measure. Great guitarist (Johnny Marr)too. I reckon it was only tongue in cheek anyway.

Cam · 17/06/2005 12:41

HappyHuggy, I'm really surprised that Morissey has never, not even once, impinged on you consciousness?

noddyholder · 17/06/2005 12:42

love them

Cam · 17/06/2005 12:43
