Woohoo! We are now officially on holiday!! Had a lovely day yesterday with chocolate cakes and daffs in the staffroom at break time.
Had a lovely long lie-in this morning and then we all had hotcross buns for breakfast - brilliant!

Loving the picture of T singing MAS - he is sooo handsome!

Hotcross, lovely idea about the dogwalk but a quick glance on the calender reveals Dillydog is in the groomers most of that day, hopefully being turned from a wooly mammoth into something vaguely resembling a dog. Somehow.

So by the time I have taken him, and then collected him 3 hourse later it may be a bit tight. Let's make a date for when MAS is free too!

Remind me again, where is B's totempole? We are going to Guildford at some point over the holidays and would love to see it!

Better go, E wants the computer and I still need to finalise a grocery order and check e-mails.

Oh , by the way, enjoy the bunny! (hope I have one now otherwise I will look daft)

hotcrossbunny · 01/04/2010 13:45

HAPPY EASTER! Just off to mums and MIL's. Will be back some time after 11th I think.

Love the pic MAS!

Totem is outside the Electric Theatre Hippi. Will catch up when MAS is free then.

MaryAnnSingleton · 01/04/2010 14:07

Happy Easter too from me - and yes, let's make a date when we're all free !

Hello Back to school. That means I can actually switch on the computer and check emails/MN etc! However, the house seems very quiet and the mess is incredible

Hope you've both had lovely holidays? Ours has been mixed. The first week and a bit we toured our families, which was nice but a bit stressful at times and tiring. At least we're done for a bit so don't need to feel permanently guilty! This week dh has been off too, but he's had a poorly tum so we haven't been out and about much really. Lots of gardening this weekend though and B had a lovely time in the paddling pool with her friend from next door.

Am now preparing to tackle the mammoth ironing pile, but at least I've got a Sky+ box filled with rubbish to catch up on!

Shall we try to set a meeting up date soon???

hippipotamiHasLost80lbs · 20/04/2010 08:09

Hello

We have had the best holiday. It was so lovely and relaxed.
The first week we hired a skip and cleared out the back of the garden (contents of an old shed) and replanted some plants etc.
We also went to Cadbury's world - it was great!!
And on the Sunday we went to Highgate to spend the day with my sister - she lives inbetween Highgate cemetary (so we took a stroll round there) and Hampstead Heath (where we took a lovely picnic and climbed to the top of Parliament Hill)
The second week Steve was back to work so I helped O and E with their homework, they both had friends to play, we did some longer doggle walks and cycled into town along the canal.
Great fun

I was absolutely gutted about having to go back to school. But yesterday was not too bad.

Better go - another day at school beckons.

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/04/2010 10:26

hello you two !! lovely to hear that you had a great holiday Hippi- sorry that yours was a bit mixed hotcross - visiting is stressful and poor dh not being well is rotten.
We had a nice time generally - it seemed such a long break.
T stayed with my brother and family over Easter w/end and the second week week went to Notts. to see MIL and rest of family up there.
In between managed a trip to The Vyne and Basingstoke and Wagamama. Saw my brother and niece again on Friday here to finish off.
Have just had another head bump removed at GPs -all ok this time- no major bleeding thank goodness..
All feels slightly weird this week as I'm having my hospital check up on Thursday (mammogram the week before last) and it's coming up to the one year mark since diagnosis -the day we met at The PackHouse.
Anyway, off to make restoring cup of coffee !

Glad you had great holidays Hippi, I like the sound of cycling along the canal. We're looking into getting bikes for us as B goes so fast now it's not much fun trying to keep up on foot! Sorry you weren't happy about going back to work, but hooray yesterday was OK!

MAS, you're having an evetful week! How are you feeling now after the lump removal? Was it this morning? Try to put your feet up for a bit if you can I can't believe a year has gone by so fast I hope it's all good news you get on Thursday. You've certainly been through the wringer.

How were your dcs going back to school? B was really excited to see all her friends, but getting up early is a struggle. It's so much easier with the good weather though I can't believe it's her last term at Infant School I just hope she's as happy at juniors as she has been the past three years

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/04/2010 14:04

head is fine -have put a cotton bandana on to hide the mess so I don't frighten the children when I pick up S and H !! T was happy enough to go back to school I think - he got up in good time anyway...he is making carrot cakes today in food tech..
Am sure B will love junior school - much more challenging for her,and interesting - T seemed to cope well with the move up- I remember sobbing the first day of term though
Hope work is good and that your happy this term Hippi.

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/04/2010 14:05

you're grrr

OP posts:
hotcrossbunny · 20/04/2010 20:27

Hope your head is OK tonight MAS, not too tender? Bet you look very fetching in your bandana! Wish I could pull off the headscarf/hat/anything other than hair on my head look - you'll look arty and lovely

Off to watch TV and try not to feel hungry - am on day 2 of careful eating and am not finding it easy!

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/04/2010 21:18

you are too kind hotcross ! Careful eating sounds dull for you -I am not carefully eating some milk bottle sweets and have also had one of Theo's carrot cakes (v good) among other bad things.
Head no too bad-will put the bandana on my white pillowcase tonight just in case

OP posts:
hippipotamiHasLost80lbs · 21/04/2010 08:09

Awww MAS, you have been in the wars with your lump and bumps...
But I agree with hotcross - you will be the one who can carry off the headscarf look!!

I cannot believe it is the last term already. O's last term in primary school Actually, he can't wait to leave. He has had a tough year friendship wise (it is still all a bit difficult for him, he is very much on the sidelines) and he is ready to start afresh.
I am so worried that the two main 'bullies' from his current class are going to be in his form though. I had even thought about emailing the head of year at the high school to ask if they could be kept separate from O but I don't want to come across as one of those mothers... [fret]
E is quite excited about moving to the junior school. I think she will be fine [fingers crossed]

Argh, another day at school. Better get ready

Good luck with the careful eating hotcross

MaryAnnSingleton · 21/04/2010 08:37

have washed my hair -so much better ! combed very carefully ! Am off to do Sainsbury's shortly...
In T's school they are mixed from the different feeder schools into tutor groups -T is with a few from his old school - I don't think it'd be pushy or anything to speak about your concerns to O's current school as they will be advising the new school on who should go where - I think they can suggest suitable mixes - that seems reasonable enough and would help to ease your mind.
Have good days

Hello

Glad you're feeling more normal MAS, I do think you're amazing though, you seem so serene and together, while all this is going on, or are you 'paddling like hell underneath' as they say??? I always seem to fall to pieces at anything, but others seem to stay calm, but they may well just hide it really well. Sorry am waffling

Hippi, I think O will do well at secondary. He's such an engaging chap, he'll quickly make like-minded friends in the bigger, new 'pond'. It's such a shame he's not been happy though, and horrible for you too He's lucky to have such a lovely family

I've been to the dentist today. I need a small filling and a big filling. TBH I expected to need much more work than that as I've seriously neglected going to the dentist... Losing the tooth last month has given me a boot up the bum though and I'm determined to go regularly and tackle my fears head on. It helps that the dentist is such a lovely gentle guy, who is happy to go at my speed, so I'll have the wee filling done first in a couple of weeks. He also wants to take xrays of my bridge as he says it's poorly done...but I'm ignoring that for now!

Right off to make dinner.

hotcrossbunny · 22/04/2010 21:52

Hi just popping in before bed to say hello!

MAS, hope today went really well. I've been thinking of you... xxx

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/04/2010 08:02

Yes, agree with hotcross- O will flourish at secondary school I think - you'll see
Thanks for checking on me hotcross - I am calm but I churn underneath ! I am fine-check up was all ok (they still have mislaid my notes so my consultant had my temporary notes from last time) and the mammogram was clear. I get seen again by him in six months this time locally as he does a clinic at the Community Hospital. A lady in the loo was so pleased with her reconstruction by our surgeon that she showed me !!

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/04/2010 09:31

forgot to say -well done about getting to the dentist -he sounds v nice -dental health v important I think -I still get anxious about going and am terrified of losing bits of teeth/fillings !

hippipotamiHasLost80lbs · 24/04/2010 11:35

Sorry I have neglected you both again - so much is going on in this madhouse I hardly get time to breathe...

Am definately going to speak to the head of Y6 about the bullies as things came to a head yesterday
One bully, boy M, started calling O names (effing retard and other such delights), O told him to eff off and M then pushed him to the ground, kicked his leg and punched him in the stomach.
Later that afternoon we found out that the reason O is so sidelined at school is because bully number two, boy L, had created a MSN live account in O's name and had been sending mean (downright nasty actually) emails to classmates which thus appear to be from O. Dh is in contact with Microsoft to get the fake account closed down and O is going to contact his classmates on a new account saying that the other one was not him. (but not naming boy L, we dont' want this to escalate)

AAARRRGGGHHH! Ruddy kids!!

We have also decided to put the house on the market. Whilst I love love love my house, I cannot put up with the impracticalities of it any longer. The large garden has gone from my pride and joy to something we cannot keep on top of. The lack of parking is driving me insane. And O is rapidly outgrowing the standing-room in his loft bedroom. Sadly our budget won't allow us to purchase anything more exciting than a 3 bed 1960's semi but as long as it is in a quiet road and has a garage and off-street parking I will be much happier.

And finally, we are adopting two chickens, Boris (who is a girl) and Matilda. A lovely teacher at school can't keep them anymore and offered them up in the staffroom. So we are getting them Complete with Eglu and run Will post pictures when we get them (probably be next weekend)

Right, better go - am supposed to be helping O with his homework.

Hope you are all well especially in regards to heads and teeth

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/04/2010 12:55

oh God - poor O - that is unbelievable... I'm so sorry.
Chickens sound great but moving house is sad for you ...let me know when it might be on rightmove so I can look [nosy emoticon]

Oh and to top it all off we have had a major falling out with next door. I feel sick to my stomach, can't stop shaking. The dispute (over recycling bins of all things) started Weds eve. Yesterday I wanted to apologise (even though I don't think I am in the wrong) and approached him in the garden. He started going on at me about my values etc so I lost it and yelled Fuck off you fat slob. Sob. Not my finest hour.
He now definately wont' listen to an apology and I feel so so crap.
Things are just majorly on top of me at the moment and I am not coping.

Am now shaking in case he hinders the house-selling progress by being a twonk and I feel so so bad. Have not stopped crying since yesterday afternoon.

Oh god. [fret]
