George wanted me, but I was just too busy making cupcakes.
And didn't she look awful [bitch emoticon]

francaghostohollywood · 16/10/2009 17:05

She does look a bit grezza, I think.

JavierBardem · 16/10/2009 17:14

Do you think so? I looked at the pics trying to find fault with her, but goodness, i think she is really beautiful!
Maybe she is not a cretina, maybe she is really intelligente, but knew she would not get anywhere on italian telly, if she showed her brains. I just cannot believe George would go out with a scema.

Camomilla · 16/10/2009 17:27

I like the pink dress she was wearing on red carpet, but somehow it looks too low, as in her boobs look by her knees... (not that I'm jealous or anything, just an observation - says the pancake woman...)
I don't think so much grezza as desperate to get noticed

francaghostohollywood · 16/10/2009 18:06

No, no, I'm not saying she is scema, and she is beautiful. But there is a teeny weeny bit of tamarra, no?

I'm just jealous really !

Camomilla · 16/10/2009 20:08

DD had another one of her histeric crying thing, as always at dinner time because she's overtired. Managed to giver her a quick shower (she'd enjoyed emptying her bottle over her head, so smelt like cheese ) and she was in bed by 7.10!!! that's a first in months!! but the night is looooooooooong still. DS is going soon and then I can go and crash on the sofa, evviva! (he's asking me what his surnames mean, DP's actually a "proper" word, but mine, well, not meaning as such)

francaghostohollywood · 16/10/2009 20:10

Oh camo! Here's for a night of uninterrupted sleep!

JavierBardem · 17/10/2009 19:44

Add thorougly restful day resting and playing with the kids! I feel at peace!

JavierBardem · 17/10/2009 19:44

Had not Add.

Sputnik · 17/10/2009 20:12

You have spent to long in east London, Javier!

JavierBardem · 17/10/2009 20:25

Innit?

TheMysticMasseuse · 18/10/2009 19:58

hello girls... sorry i haven't read the last few pages but is anyone around? i need advice.

so. we are just back from geneva. it was exhausting and we have narrowed down our choice of accomodation to two apartments:

apartment A: beautiful, elegant apartment in the poshest part of town; overlooking a great park; super-central; great decorative order

apartment B: slighlty further out (15 min by tram from the city centre); in a converted house with old landlady living upstairs, quiet cul de sac; GARDEN!; gynormous cantina; kitchen and bathrooms a bit , ie a bit 70s.

my heart says B but i am scared that we'll be too far out of town and i'll feel totally isolated... to complicate things further i still don't know where dd1 is going to go to school the one i really like is really close apartmnet B but if she doesn't get a place there i am screwed as my second choice is on the other side of town....

what do you wise little italians think???

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 18/10/2009 20:13

MM I will answer in a min.

Can you answer this for me first please. Any late night farmacy near you/us?

Sputnik · 18/10/2009 20:15

I think the garden and quiet would swing B for me. 15 minutes by tram is hardly isolated.
What did you think of Geneva in general? I went there once inter-railing when I was 18, but can't remember anything about it other than the lake and how expensive everything was.

JavierBardem · 18/10/2009 20:16

I would say apartment a, I would want to be in the centre, even if it meant no garden. I would be put off by the landlady living upstairs, would she moan about noises from the kids, etc? Surely, most schools are very good there?

Sputnik · 18/10/2009 20:16

What's up Damon? Hope a is ok.

TheMysticMasseuse · 18/10/2009 20:16

bigpippi has had 38.5 all day despite calpol every 4 hour. At 7.30 she had 40 just an hour after she had calpol. DH is trying to find some neurofen somewhere but there's no chemist open.

When I've done the questionnaire on the internet they gave me a code for tamiflu ! Isn't it a bit quick?

Me too, I remember the lake and not being able to buy anything as it was soo dear.

Anything on google Damon?

Rosa · 18/10/2009 20:20

HArd one- Possibly A if the park offered everything I wanted for the dd's ( it won't be like here full of sh*t!!!!)
Is A child friendly though ?
But then again I like my peace and a chance of a garden where they could run round and play and be 'free'. Plus in Switzerland with a 15 min tram ride - they wlll be on time , they won't strike and the driver will probably smile !!

OP posts:
francaghostohollywood · 18/10/2009 20:20

Hi, personally I'd go for:
A) as I'm a snob and I love being central and I prefer parks than having my own garden.

When will you know about the school? Of course, if you get a place in your favourite school, the more sensible thing is to live nearby (and 15 minutes of tram from the city centre is not that bad!!). Also, in my experience (as a child and as a mother) it is much nicer to live close to the school, so that the children have local friends (and this is another reason why we didn't go for the english school here in milan)

Rosa · 18/10/2009 20:21

Pippi hope you find some try sponging the the meantime .....

OP posts:
TheMysticMasseuse · 18/10/2009 20:22

poor bigpippi i hope she gets better soon... you could try the old pezza fredda sulla fronte, it does bring temp down a bit.

geneva was ok, actually, and as expensive as London (ie very, but we weren't shocked).

I am really torn between the two. i wiould love to have a garden but landlady puts me off a bit... although... in an apartmnent building there's plenty of scope for annoying neighbours...
