Ok Italian ladies eyes open for the first fur. Has to be a proper one either jacket or coat . ( Not a fur edged one or sheepskin)

francaghostohollywood · 12/10/2009 20:27

Yes, Amazon is great! I should buy from it more often (I also love buying from my local bookshop and la feltrinelli, I have a reward card)

No, at the moment the only furry thing around here are my eyebrows

Bucharest · 13/10/2009 08:25

Morning- we've got a wind like in Trieste this morning, so I might see the first fur today!

Love Amazon here too....I did decamp to BookDepository for a while, but stuff kept getting stolen lost in the post, so I'm back to Amazon.

Sputnik · 13/10/2009 09:21

Was really windy here too yesterday, a tree in our street was half blown over. Lovely again today though.

Wel after saying last week no one had had a cold yet this year, obviously they both had to catch one the next day DD is ok, but DS very snotty, poor thing.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 13/10/2009 09:23

'Morning ladies.

Big shouting session in the pippi household this morning re getting dressed!
[guilt emoticon now]

Sputnik · 13/10/2009 09:37

Yes, I know exactly that scenario!
Now I get DD to race DH to get ready, silly but it actually works!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 13/10/2009 10:03

Not silly at all. Unfortunately I am on my own so no one to race. Bigpippi's head is always up in the clouds (or 'sugli alberi' like she says) so after every single garment I put on she wanders off and completely forgets where she is and what she is doing. Most days I don't mind calling her a million times and just get her dressed while she daydreams, other days like today I explode like a vulcano!!!
To give you an idea of how dopey she is at times after she wondered off for the millionth time, after I showed her the clock, told her how much time we had etc I gave up and put my jacket on and called them to go out. She got her book bag and left the house with no shoes, no skirt, no jumper, no jacket on ! She only woke up from her daydreaming when the cold and the gravel hit her!!! Then my shouting began !

We both apologiesd in the and but it was dreadful!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 13/10/2009 10:31

Just checked my bank account and for 4 days I went £100 over my limit (a mere £300) I got charges totalling £263! and is an understatement. Just phoned them and they cancelled £70 worth. Certainly it is ridiculous especially when I tried to deposit money throughout the w-e and every single cash machine would not let me use the deposit facility. Should I now go to the branch and threaten to close all accounts unless they refund more?

JavierBardem · 13/10/2009 11:37

this happened to me when i was in hospital to give birth, in my experiece it is a waste of time to visit the branch, i ended up shouting at some gormeless individual bored out of their pants.
phone them and ask to speak to the supervisor, that worked with me once.

another time i wrote a letter to the headquarters detaling what had happened, emphasising you tried to cover the deposit on such and such days at such and such cashpoints whilst single handendly looking after your kids, explaining that you if they do not waive the full fee you will

  • refer them to the financial ombudsman (cannot remember the specific name)
  • close all your accounts (both you and your husband's) helps if you have savings with them, they will not want to lose you
Effing pita, but they should not take the piss.

francaghostohollywood · 13/10/2009 12:17

I can't believe they charged you 263 pounds! Sodding banks... Javier's advise sounds very sound.

Oh last year ds was a nightmare at getting dressed in the morning, so , like the Sputniks, we decided he had to race dh every morning. It really helped and he is much better (fingers crossed) this year... last yr he went to school with his pj bottom under his jeans more than once!!!

Very windy - but sunny - here too. I have a violent cold, I blame dh.

Rosa · 13/10/2009 13:54

Sorry about the colds adults and children you have my deepest sympathy....
Bank are taking the piss- especially if you have as said a couple of accounts it is all automatic. I would as Javier said say where you went to pay in money and you have had your account X years etc etc... Go for it.

Wind died down here its fresh and sunny cool in teh shade. Went to say hello to the consultorio today and had a lovely welcome really made me feel nice ! they took time to talk to me about minirosa and food, suggestions etc and also I asked about improving the defences as I tried the Sanagol stuff and got a thumbs down. They gave me some good suggestions and as I left they said don't be a stranger !!!!!
Off to see a house this pm ... We know 2 different prices and know nothing else apart from roughly where it is !!!!!!!!

OP posts:
francaghostohollywood · 13/10/2009 13:58

Oh let us know how the viewing goes rosa!

and about the consultorio!

I cannpt open my yahoo mail. Yahoo keeps freezing on me and I have to force quit the application. Do you think it's a virus?

francaghostohollywood · 13/10/2009 14:02

Ah, not only has dh given me his cold, but he's eaten up all my shortbread biscuits

Rosa · 13/10/2009 14:03

I would run the anti virus ... I have just had a cup tea and 2 vitasnella biscuits - nearest to galibaldis I can get me thinks autumn is coming !!!!

OP posts:
francaghostohollywood · 13/10/2009 14:10

have just had a nice cuppa too... was looking forward to my shortbread biscuits... cavolo!

Will try with the anti virus

Rosa · 13/10/2009 14:22

They last 2 mins in this house so I don't buy them . I am not a mulino bianco ( or the supermarkets own versions) fan so I get the Vitasnella 'crackers' they are more of a biscuit really and minirosa sucks on them for a good 10 mins !!!!!!

Camomilla · 13/10/2009 21:01

evening ladies, sorry to hear about more colds...

Pippi, even with 2 adults, there's a lot of shouting here in the morning too, as DS lives up in the clouds as well. he wonders off, he has to play, he has to watch tv, he wants to look at the book...

oh, go to that martin bloke off gmtv website, he has a template letter thing about extortionate charges

francaghostohollywood · 13/10/2009 21:04

I don't like mulino bianco biscuits either, so I spend lots of money on shortbread, dark choc digestives and New York choc chip cookines

Camo, how is it going? Are you feeling a bit better?

Camomilla · 13/10/2009 21:21

rassegnata I guess, franca, thanks for asking. might take her in bed with me tomorrow and see (too knackered tonight to even attempt expressing) I think she's just too active, as soon as she wakes up she wants to just walk!! she;s a train constantly going (and even better if she can eat at the same time!)

francaghostohollywood · 13/10/2009 21:42

Oh bless. She sounds adorable though camo!

Bucharest · 14/10/2009 07:37

Morning....I feel like those soldiers returning from missions abroad this morning (not the dead ones obviously) We survived ludoteca hell!

All the new class came except for 2, so had 21 kids I basically didn't even know, plus about 15 friends.....chaotic doesn't even cover it....Have now got a corridor filled with tat lovely gifts.....Didn't realise quite how big a Barbie camper was

The horrid bullish thumpy girl child in dd's class was there, and had to be physically restrained at times for beating up other kids! I had chance to have a good look at her, and tbh, I think there is some hormonal thing going on- could this be possible I wonder? She is 6 and looks 12, not just because she is "robusta" she is developed IYSWIM? But so masculine as well...really odd. I met her mother, who actually seems very normal....my dp was horrified at what this girl was getting up to, the slightest thing and she was pinning other kids against the wall and drawing her fist back to hit them, and yet when you spoke to her, she fell over herself to be helpful. Very odd really.

Only downside (apart from thumpy scary woman-child) is that dd is on sofa with febbre of 38 and poss tonsilitis this morning. I was and said to dp it would be a horrid brutta figura not to send her the day after the party, but he said, no it wouldn't, the maestra would almost expect it....

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 14/10/2009 09:42

Morning,

Buch, 'he said, no it wouldn't, the maestra would almost expect it.... ' yes I agree, the italian way.
Maybe she is selfconscious about ther look and she has been bullied/teased and has got no other ways to deal with it so that is how she reacts? (pippi's tuppence psychological profile of woman-child).

Been in crappy modd for two day re stupid bank now think who cares it's only money.

minipippi is watching real pippi on tv. everyday after school run and walk in the park she screams 'piiipiiiii' asa we walk in.

Camo for you. From the sound of it minicamo looks very much like possessedbythedevilminipippi and maybe it is their time to focus on movement and discovery rather than confort and cuddles? (pippi's tuppence psychological profile of minicamo developm stage). Minipippi for example needs less cuddles and confort than bigpippi who cannot go without for a minute. (actually today for the first time in 4 years she managed to get up after falling from scooter not cry and not asking for cuddles and I bet it was because she is learning from minipippi who must have fallen 100times this morning without a sound).

JavierBardem · 14/10/2009 10:40

my 2 pennie worht of cheap psychology: girl, beside the way she looks, has been brought up without boundaries, is angry at her parents, but transfers anger on kids around her. Actually I have no idea, but Buch, you do paint an interesting pic of life nel mezzogiorno.

In a bad mood today, boh!

Camomilla · 14/10/2009 10:41

Pippi, check this, might help.

Buch, wow! how did you survive all those kids!?! I was thinking along the lines of "pippi's tuppence psychological profile of woman-child" too, maybe you can try speak to the mother now that you've met her if things get bad again with your dd (and yes, that campervan is huge, DN's got it)

Pippi, looks like you're right, maybe it's a second child thing. had another terrible night last night. she woke up crying, I thought it was her teeth as she kept on rubbing her gums, a nightmare to get her to have some med, and then all she wanted was trying to get carried out of the room - she just wanted to go downstairs! rest of the night was up/down/up/down (biiiiiiiiiiiig bags under eyes today....)

at minipippi and real pippi!!
