bought something from ebay that im REALLY not happy with

i bought some dvds from there. a new boxset as i understood. i won and paid for the item, yet when i received them they were just copies thrown into a jiffy bag. I have emailed him twice now asking for my money back and recieved no reply. I have alerted ebay of this too. This was last week. What else can I do? I know I have probably lost my (hard saved for the past year) money. It was supposed to be a present but I can't give them copies!!! How long should I leave it before I leave negative feedback on him?

can you put a link to the item?

if the description said new boxset and they are copies in a jiffy bag I would email once more saying if you dont reply I will leave negative feedback

I'd keep on to ebay definitely as he has broken the law....seriously broken the law. Try and get as many details as you can on this guy as well.

Email him and tell him you want the real thing as this is what was stated in the ad or your money back at least.

Leave him bad feedback too, as this will warn other ebayers of the risks this seller poses.

Good luck in getting your money back/the real thing.

Titania, where does it say it was a boxed set? It says new but not boxed set that I can see. I suppose they meant new copies - cheeky b**gers.

No it doesn't say boxset. It only says new and I suppose in a round about way they are new.

The wording is very clever isn't it?

Surely it is illegal to sell copies of DVDs. Doesn't that count as piracy?
How did you pay, can you cancel it through paypal?

You should have some protection if you paid paypal. Not quite sure of the ins and outs, I'm afraid.

most sellers do wait to be left feedback before they leave theirs. the picture wasn't even of the product Hermione1 - just a picture of the A-Team and a picture of the menu bit of the DVD on a TV screen.

it's against the law to sell copies, esp films with copyright.....please get this dude done for this!!!

Threaten the seller by reporting him for piracy to ebay and also the official piracy hotline number (0845 6034567) unless he gives you a refund.

Hate to say it but the listing doesn't say box set, and there's no boxed set pictured. One pic is a generic A Team one and the other is just a photo of the TV, so there's nothing to suggest that it would have been a boxed set.

However, I'd definitely make sure that ebay know that this guy is selling pirate DVDs, and mention that he's got another auction that's due to end in 3 days, as the bidding's getting high on that. You might get your money back that way.
