i bought some dvds from there. a new boxset as i understood. i won and paid for the item, yet when i received them they were just copies thrown into a jiffy bag. I have emailed him twice now asking for my money back and recieved no reply. I have alerted ebay of this too. This was last week. What else can I do? I know I have probably lost my (hard saved for the past year) money. It was supposed to be a present but I can't give them copies!!! How long should I leave it before I leave negative feedback on him?

£92????

Titania, if i were you i would definitely keep onto ebay about this. Thats an out and out scam...

nutcracker · 16/05/2005 19:18

Sorry but i'm confused (doesn't take much). On the first link the name is different and the feedback is low. On that other link the name is different (disgusting name too) and the feedback high.

piffpaffpuff · 16/05/2005 19:19

people pay a lot of money for this stuff don't they?

ediemcreedie · 16/05/2005 19:19

Hold on, you spent £92 on a team dvds?

(thunk)

ediemcreedie · 16/05/2005 19:20

you could have had all of series one for £15

piffpaffpuff · 16/05/2005 19:25

oops!

darlingbud · 16/05/2005 19:26

I'm sure Titania doesn't need to know what she could have won!!! I think she is after advice on what to do now

Spacecadet · 16/05/2005 19:28

i think he was very crafty in that the listing does not say that they are new boxed dvds, just complete series, however, i would report him to ebay for selling pirate copies, was it a private auction?? I would steer well clear of those.email him saying his listing is misleading and that the dvds are poor quality, threaten to report him for dvd piracy and he might refund, but I doubt it, other prob is he can start up again under another user id with a diff email addy so ebay wont suss him, but def report to ebay and leave neg feedback so that other buyers dont get caught out by him.I never buy from people with negative feedback.

Thomcat · 16/05/2005 19:32

Ouch that's gotta hurt. So sorry you've been stung .
It is illegal to seel copies of films so report him, please, to the original distributor of the DVD, and to ebay and to anyone else you can think of. Maybe speak to citizens advice bureau?? He didn't say new or boxed etc but he shouldn't be selling copies of DVDs. Sorry mate.

breeze · 16/05/2005 19:33

I have had this before, altough only a film. I emailed and received no reply. I then said that this was for a present for my brother in law, who is a policeman, I think it was about 45 seconds till I received my refund lol.

Deffo report him Titania.

Not only is he selling copies but he's charging appauling amounts for them.
The discs cost pence so really thje majority of what people have paid he has in profit

Go through paypal and complain, they do ask that you should contact the seller, which you have done so you shouldn't really have any problems.

Report him to Trading Standards

kid · 16/05/2005 19:48

That link posted by Enid shows when he sold them before. If you look at the feedback, it seems that person returned them and got a refund.

Titania, email him and tell him if he doesn't give you a refund (minus the postage if it makes him happy) then you shall be taking legal action. Tell him if you haven't heard anything within 24 hours, you will contact Ebay and the police.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

bubblerock · 16/05/2005 19:49

I think you might be ok Titania if you look at his feedback you can see that the person who bid £70+ before for the same thing got a refund so she obviously wasn't happy either - probably the same ones!! You could always try emailing her.

bubblerock · 16/05/2005 19:49

X posted Kid - oops

Gwenick · 16/05/2005 19:50

he's currently selling another of the same item..........

I've submitted a question asking for more details

breeze · 16/05/2005 19:52

Gwenick, perhaps if we all bombarded him with questions asking him to refund, he might get the message

Gwenick · 16/05/2005 19:53

oh not asking for refund - asking more about the product he's selling......

You know - is it a box set, how many DVD's, still sealed etc etc............
