"I get the impression Sabian has said things that upset Cod's friends, but he's only reporting facts. Can't see why MN should report him for stating his own feelings and facts of what happened..."

Actually, I'm p*ssed off with his attitude. All the "I've banned our house from MN, deleted all the shortcuts, blocked it in our browsers blah de blah de blah" and then up he pops again with rather agressive postings. It's got nothing whatsoever to do with Coddy.

And do you know what, popsycal, I'm angry to but not, I suspect, for the same reason as you

popsycal · 15/05/2005 10:41

I think everyone wants to let this drop...correct me as on 1 hour sleep last night, I may well ve delusional.

SoupDragon · 15/05/2005 11:41

I just wanted to correct a misinterpretation, Popsycal.

WideWebWitch · 15/05/2005 11:46

Cor, is this still going on? Ha ha.

WideWebWitch · 15/05/2005 11:46

I like Pie too.

SoupDragon · 15/05/2005 11:51

WideWebWitch · 15/05/2005 11:53

Just came upon this and if I may add my bit to this. I never realised until very recently that there was any problems between MN and Pie. I am a member on both MN and MO and use the sites for different reasons as they are completely different. There is room for two sites and I think that is obvious to anyone who is a member of both sites. My username here and my username on MO are different just in case anyone picks up on the fact that my username here is also that of a member on MO too. I didn't realise that Pie was banned from MN which is obviously why she has been unable to come on to defend herself so Sabian has. Wouldn't any spouse or partner do the same in the circumstances.

I understand too that Cod is also upset but the bickering is getting nowhere.

Lets just drop the whole matter, accept that there are two sites - actually for those of you in the know there is also another parenting site and that sites owner is a regular visitor to MO and vice versa Pie visits her site and it is totally amicable.

Lets all beg to differ and get on with life and enjoy it.

Enid · 15/05/2005 15:25

sabian is laughable. What a petulant post.

lol

chicca · 15/05/2005 15:52

What is MO??

chicca · 15/05/2005 16:31

Ignore me - I gottit

tigermoth · 15/05/2005 17:08

I can ask my question again....I did ask it last time but the thread was deleted before I got to read any responses, so here goes....

As a MO member I saw I was allowed to request a link to any good parenting sites on the MO useful links page. I requested a link to Mumsnet. After some faffing around, a link appeared (with the discription 'mumsnet, useful for all sorts of things').

I don't have much time for any other parenting sites apart from Munmsnet, but I do look on MO occasionally. The last time I looked, the Mumsnet link had been taken away. On the deleted thread here, I asked why this was - the whole MO page had been reorganised (lots of links to parent orientated businesses as well as other sites) so it might have slipped off by mistake. But lots of people do seem to post on both sites, and mumsnet is certainly not unknown to MO members so why don't more MO members want to put mumsnet up as a useful link?

I know you can say that mumsnet does not have MO as a useful link on the listings here, but (excuse me if I'm wrong) the useful listings is not such a large or active part of mumsnet as it is for MO. And tbh, it might be good if both sites listed each other on their respective useful links pages, as obviously some people use both sites.

As a member of MO, I was a bit miffed to see my requested mumsnet link had vanished and I hadn't been emailed about it. Still, until I know the MO side to this, I won't pass judgement.

Congrats if you have read this far - it's a bit trivial I know, but it is Sunday afternoon.

mishmash · 15/05/2005 17:14

Tiger - if this is a question for MO when not post it over there?

Hulababy · 15/05/2005 18:51

tigermioth - the link directories is done mainly through link swaps. The way the directory now works, if I am thinking correctly, is where one site swaps links with another. As MO is not linked to via MN through such an agreement, then there is obviosuly no MN link from MO. Hope that makes sense.

Enid · 15/05/2005 19:04

isn't it as simple as they are clearly in competition with each other?

Hulababy · 15/05/2005 19:07

I don't think they are Enid. They just exist along side each other on the massive world wide web, along with Babyworld, Mumszone, Raising Kids, UK Parents, Netmums, and all the other parenting sites there are.

MO does have link swaps with some other parenting websites - as part of swap agreements. It is the way their web directory works.

But like others have siad, it really isn't that important is it??? Maybe best to let it drop I reckon.

tigermoth · 15/05/2005 19:07

I have just looked at the MO web directory 'how to add a link section'.

It says 'Please consider listing us on your site as well' . A polite request. I take it to mean the link swapping is optional, not compulsary.

I still can't understand why there is no mumsnet link now. On the home page, in the intro blurb it says the following 'Search through our links in one of the fastest growing parent and child related directories'

Enid · 15/05/2005 19:09

because they have got chippy

I think its a nice site btw before you all jump down my throat

Hulababy · 15/05/2005 19:09

Well tigermoth- not sure what Pie thinks, not asked her...but my thinking after this thread and tohers would be "Why the hell should she, when she and the site gets so much c**p from here????"

Byt that is me just getting cross, and only seaking from myself here, and not aimed at anyone in particular at all - just at the amount of anti-Pie, anti-Sabian and anti-MO threads appearing on MN recently.
