Libel law protects individuals or organisations from unwarranted, mistaken or untruthful attacks on their reputation. A person is libelled if a publication:
* Exposes them to hatred, ridicule or contempt
* Causes them to be shunned or avoided
* Discredits them in their trade, business or profession
* Generally lowers them in the eyes of right thinking members of society

With that said, once again I'll remind people to ensure they have their facts correct when critising something. I've held my tongue through most of this bloody ordeal, but starting with the allegations that pie 'stole' MN's database back when all this started to just out right attacks on pie's character is getting too much for me to bear.

So, I'll say this again... If you would like to come over to MO, we'd love to have you. If you don't like it, that's fine... We know we don't accommodate everyone as everyone has different tastes. So, unless you are sure of what you saying, please stop making assumptions based on a select few opinions.

Cod you were never banned, you signed up on Feb 24th 2004, you did not post in 90 days. As part of our effort to keep the site, and people's posts, as secure as possible, we disable accounts of anyone who hasn't posted in 90 days. This limits the amount of lurkers we have on the site, and allows us a better record of who can see what incase something happens.

As requested your account was reactivated last week. We see that you have chosen not to post so your account will be deactivated later tonight.

Thank you.

So, you were not banned, you were deactivated due to inactivity. Hope this clears up some of the confusion.

They banned 4 MNers, Sabian said so, we wondered who the other 3 were (after Toothache) - now it's down to 2 - who else upset pie all those years ago? *
###############

For the record (again), I said that 4 people were banned........... in total, not just from MN. I did not say from MN, whoever thought that made an assumption based again on mis-information/etc. Toothache was one (and judging by her response to the news on the thread that was deleted 3 minutes later, was justified), the others had to do with inappropriate activity on MumsOnline and were not MN'ers.

So, again, I kindly request that this 'feud' be put to bed. I do not wish to continue to hear my wife's online venture, or her character, bad mouthed. When this all started last year, I 'buried the hatchet' and let things be... If you would have told me that 16+ month later I'd still be having the same argument, trying to put right what mis-information/rumour/lies put asunder, I would have said you were crazy. I'll attempt to do this again. If you like our site, fantastic, all are welcome and all are invited. If you do not like our site, that's great too... Stay where you are comfortable as that is what we wanted in the first place... To have a place where people feel comfortable and 'safe' (or as well as you can be online anyway)...

Thank you for time and see around (or maybe not)...

sabian

snafu · 14/05/2005 14:52

Oh god, who cares?

hunkermunker · 14/05/2005 14:53

Snaf, dammit! Again!

snafu · 14/05/2005 14:56

Are you scared yet, hunker?

hunkermunker · 14/05/2005 14:56

No, just heartened that I'm not alone in this crazy world

I have you and LGJ, even if you do fight

Trampy · 14/05/2005 14:57

Cod watch

lemonice · 14/05/2005 15:06

oo er scary mclary

WideWebWitch · 14/05/2005 17:39

Sabian, I thought you'd banned yourself from mumsnet? Maybe it's time to forget about it yourself and just not look, hmm?

zebraX · 14/05/2005 17:49

Gawd, who needs RL when MN has this soap opera.

SoupDragon · 14/05/2005 17:52

He can't keep away. Always popping back stirring things up and being threatening.

Maybe MN should ban him?

Hulababy · 14/05/2005 17:52

Please do not let this get into a MO bashing saga again. Cod was originally banned from MO at the start - due to her reaction towards Pie at the time. However, recently when she suggested she wanted to come and see MO she was reactivated and given the same rules as other posters - post within a certain time and continue, or deactivation. Saves unused names being kept open and not needed, etc. However Cod did not post in that time. She was sent a further e-mail to remind her that time was elapsing, bit she choose again not to post, therefore she was deactivated. Really really simple.

So, over this latest matter. Cod was NOT banned at all; that is simply untrue.

Sabian is simply posting to tell the truth - why is that a problem?????

SoupDragon · 14/05/2005 17:55

Oh he was threatening, HulaBaby. Very confrontational on a thread which was clearly by someone worse the wear for cocktails.

hunkermunker · 14/05/2005 17:56

I would like to make reference to Snafu's post of Saturday, 14 May, 2005 2:52:45 PM.

WideWebWitch · 14/05/2005 17:57

He was hula, read his post. Honestly!

Hulababy · 14/05/2005 17:57

Why so many excuses?????

Sabian has every right to feel afronted at blantent lies about his wife's site, and lies and insults against her. Why should he not post to put the truth out???

I am sorry, but this whole saga has me feeling very cross.

hunkermunker · 14/05/2005 17:58

I find the whole "my wife's venture" thing a bit odd really.

But I would like to make reference once again to Snafu's post of Saturday, 14 May, 2005 2:52:45 PM.

WideWebWitch · 14/05/2005 17:59

Sabian said he'd banned himself from mumsnet and quite frankly I think he should do so again. But actually, I'm with Snafu, who cares? I don't actually so won't post again!

WideWebWitch · 14/05/2005 17:59

Hey Hunker, I didn't just make reference, I QUOTED her!

dinosaur · 14/05/2005 18:00

I remember Sabian's posts at the time when MumsOnline was first set up, but Soupy, has he really posted many times since then?

SoupDragon · 14/05/2005 18:03

He came out all guns blazing recently when COd started an innocent thread asking how MO was doing these days. MO fans got all defensive, things turned nasty and he leapt in saying "I've banned MN on our PC but have come back blah ded blahe and now rebanning MN on our PC". And here he is again, behaving in a threatening manner.

Oh, and Hula, COd's ordered a kitchen.

SoupDragon · 14/05/2005 18:04

Hula, what "so many excuses" are you talking about??

Hulababy · 14/05/2005 18:04

I give up
