God that sounds hideous.
Avocado suite are tomorrow's vintage retro, mark my words

francagoestohollywood · 23/06/2009 22:56

lol, yes, you deffo talked my out of an acid green bathroom.
Sputnik, have you looked at the bathroom gallery on the living etc website? I bet you already have

Pagella is like a report, with marks. Because our new and illuminata (not) Ministro dell'Istruzione has brought back marks even for primary students . The pagella was good, the teachers are happy, he is more able to concentrate etc, and just needs to work on his reading. I just hope we can keep the teacher of matematica for next yr(she is not "di ruolo") cause I like her.

lol, I really wonder if avocado suites can become tomorrow vintage. They might.

Camomilla · 23/06/2009 23:01

maybe that'll be nice with the off-grey tiles

Sputnik · 23/06/2009 23:02

Bravo your DS Franca.
Will be onto that site first thing Franca, though I'm not sure how much can be done with 50cm of wall and some artfully placed towels
It is tiny apart from anything else, there is room for a cabinet above the sink and that's it.

Sputnik · 23/06/2009 23:04

The tiles could be a lot worse in fact. The bathroom tiles in our present house were hideous. Maybe with the grouting cleaned it'll look better.

Sputnik · 23/06/2009 23:05

Actually, I'm probably just moaning cos I'm spoilt. Right, off to bed.

francagoestohollywood · 23/06/2009 23:08

I think a bit of bicarbonate and some carefully folded towels will do wonders (on youtube there's a video showing you how you can fold towels )...
I think we've agreed on a light blue. We want pics, you know that? good night ladies.

OP posts:
Camomilla · 23/06/2009 23:09

francagoestohollywood · 23/06/2009 23:10

Camomilla · 24/06/2009 13:51

oooooooo, I like those towels!

he's goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooone! but hasn't been too bad this time
nearly didn't go though, dropped them off at the station and the train to victoria had been cancelled! so rush to another tube stataion, with DP giving me directions and changing idea so it was like right, no left, no right with peak traffic... so I just went to the shops and got myself shorts and top on sale! tried lots on, couple of things I really like, handy for when I'm back at work in sept (can't decide between this and this... saw so many pretty things for DD and DS too (very tempted by this dress as I've just ordered this)

Sputnik · 24/06/2009 14:12

Yay Camo!
There's nothing like a bit of euphoria-induced retail therapy, is there
Get the red mac to go with your DD's dress ( and nappy wrap)

Rosa · 24/06/2009 14:29

francagoestohollywood · 24/06/2009 15:20

Brange has disappeared, I will text her.
Rosa, I hope the nasty bump is nothing serious, when is she due for the ct scan? Will keep my fingers crossed.
Camo I love the orange mac, go for it!!!
And Sputnik, yet another website to get addicted to??? How very dare you? . Love the towels!

Have spent all morning to the gp, who prescribed tons of blood tests, and told me the symptoms could be indeed related to gout!

I then went for a walk as the kids are at my mum's today... and discovered that one of my favourite palazzi in milan (a gorgeous run down 1600 building) will be soon renovated and flats will be sold! I got all excited, as it is gorgeous, but soon realize that all we could afford there is a bilocale ... plus I'm sure that it will be all infighettito, a place for the likes of Fabrizio Corona and fake models. Uffa!!!

OP posts:
Sputnik · 24/06/2009 16:14

Franca, hope they can get to the bottom of it, and it's nothing serious.
That site was American, but if you want a european version try this
I even found an Italian site for the towels here
Now all I need is some money!

francagoestohollywood · 24/06/2009 16:35

You evil, evil creature

If it's gout, it is not that serious, I gathered. Have to watch diet for a while (no meat, no alcohol -damn- no crostacei) and take some medication. Then you are slowly weaned off medication and can slowly start to eat those things again. If it's reumatismi it's just a pita, not sure there is much to do.

OP posts:
Camomilla · 24/06/2009 21:56

oh, sputnik, really nice stuff!!
brrrrrrr, read "fabrizio corona" and had shivers down my back! understand franca, it's like the old hospital in clapham south, such a gorgeous buiding, then they've demolished it, though re-built it the same, but it's now a big tesco Whilst looking for a house, I've seen soooooooooooooo many old big houses turned into flats, but I guess it's the demand.

hope you manage to sort out that foot soon!

fingers crossed for nonna uk, rosa, keep us posted

francagoestohollywood · 24/06/2009 22:18

Oh yes Camo, I think Corona is like the metaphor of the deriva morale of this country. Bleah.

This building I love is already divided in flats, which were rented. It is a 1600 building, with a gorgeous and very green courtyard (big aiuola with ortensie). It is very shabby and in need of TLC, but I find that part of its charm is the shabbiness. The building is under the control of the Belle Arti, but I fear that the renovation will turn it into a very fighetto building. Like they did to the gorgeous casa di ringhiera where my friend's dad used to live

OP posts:
Sputnik · 24/06/2009 22:27

Who is Fabrizio Corona?

francagoestohollywood · 24/06/2009 22:31

Oh he is a "photographer/paparazzo" who has also been convicted for having blackmailed some celebrities he took pics of. He is supposedly good looking (I find him ugly), you know, a tamarro, drives fast cars or suv, has girlfriends with boobs etc. Google him, I don't even dare doing it.

OP posts:
Sputnik · 24/06/2009 22:37

Oh yes sounds vaguely familiar.
