Welcome back Franca-when do you get blood test results back?
Sputnik-love the towels! Bookmarked the site
Camo hurrah on no Nonno and have you decided which mac? Both lovely.
Rosa hope weather is holding out for you. DS still a nightmare sleeping but decided to be resigned to it as can't make him sleepy.
Franca I love those old buildings d'epoca with the coutyards. And I hate soulless renovations - some things need to be left alone!. Still not got over fact the Hacienda club in Manchester was turned into luxury flats. Plain wrong!

Sputnik · 25/06/2009 11:13

Does he still have a nap in the afternoon Gio? I find my DS takes ages to sleep at night if he naps too long or too late.

francagoestohollywood · 25/06/2009 20:01

Hi Gio, I think i won't manage to go and get tested until next week (I'm working this week).
My ds was very difficult at bedtime for a very long time... so I feel your pain. We were all smug as we had managed to "tame" him for quite a long time, but since January (remember my long rants?) he's been a bit more difficult.

Is that still going on Franca?
I have actually just given up getting DS to sleep. He is watching Shaun the Sheep

francagoestohollywood · 25/06/2009 22:25

No, no, things have improved vastly. I spent more than a month lying beside him. Then, I started sitting in his room until he fell asleep. Then outside. Now we are trying to go back to the old times... not sure he's a hundred percent convinced (mostly because he is an abitudinario ). He is much more relaxed and falls asleep quite quickly now most of the times,. but he still have evenings when he gets upset because he can't fall asleep as quickly as he likes and gets a bit upset.

Oh Shaun the Ship, we like it! Btw, when ds was 2 he wouldn't fall asleep before 10.

francagoestohollywood · 25/06/2009 22:27

By old times I mean when he didn't need anyone around after good night kiss.

OP posts:
Sputnik · 25/06/2009 22:33

We still haven't got that far with DD. Shcking really!I keep meaning to help her over it with strategic bribery but we are just as abitudinari as her. She only takes 2 minutes to drop off though.

Shaun is massively popular in this household.

francagoestohollywood · 25/06/2009 22:46

2 minutes is fair enough! I think you feel the need to do it when/if you reach exhaustion. I remember when ds was little (say 2 yrs old) he was used to fall asleep holding my (or dh's hand). Only, it took him at least 45 minutes, and I remeber sitting there thinking... oh I should be doing this and that etc. and getting frustrated. So we decided we needed CHANGE

Off to bed, have you told dd you are moving yet? 'notte!

OP posts:
Sputnik · 25/06/2009 22:50

Oh yes, she has known for months.
Last day of school for her tomorrow, I am going to get all emotional!
Notte.

francagoestohollywood · 26/06/2009 08:25

Last day of school is very emotional.

Michael Jackson has died !

OP posts:
Sputnik · 26/06/2009 19:52

So my main emotion atm is embarassment as I've just realised the last day of school is actually tuesday! So having said goodbye and given pressie to teacher and everything do I turn up on monday?
On tuesday we have an impegno anyway. So maybe I should write monday off!

francagoestohollywood · 26/06/2009 21:55

lol!

OP posts:
Sputnik · 26/06/2009 21:59

Ah there you are. I thought you were out drinking and smoking again

francagoestohollywood · 26/06/2009 22:12

I was out actually . We had a pizza with the kids, my parents, my brother, sil and her parents.
The children were lovely but extremely lively.
So, it is just you and me on here. Are going to the uk for the summer or staying put, bracing yourself for the big move?

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 26/06/2009 22:26

And since it's just you and me we could get that boow swap thingy started...

I also wonder if Penthe has got too depressed by Sophie's choice...

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 26/06/2009 22:27

boow? book?
are you gone?

OP posts:
Sputnik · 26/06/2009 22:29

Yes staying put, painting and building flatpacks. Can't afford anything else!

Actually tell a lie, we are off for a long weekend at SILs house in Tuscany, they've just made half of it habitable. They have spent 5 years doing it up!

Sputnik · 26/06/2009 22:32

Yes, what have I got that you haven't read I wonder?

francagoestohollywood · 26/06/2009 22:38

Ah Tuscany's lovely! 5 yrs is not too bad, I heard even longer redoing stories...

I'm in a reading empasse. I don't know what to read. I need inspiration. I promise I won't suggest sophie's choice , even if i'd love to talk about it.

I need to go to bed now, ciao!

OP posts:
Sputnik · 26/06/2009 22:39

notte!

Sputnik · 26/06/2009 22:40

Well, they have by no means finished, there's still the other half, the garden, obviously they'll need a pool......

francagoestohollywood · 26/06/2009 22:43

Will they dig the pool themselves?

Really going now...

OP posts:
Sputnik · 26/06/2009 22:46

Boh!
They have 30 guests at the moment they impulsively invited not thinking they'd all say yes. If they each took a bucket....

Rosa · 27/06/2009 12:06
