Rosa · 04/08/2009 14:58

Thx things better he has to have medication monitored closely but he is doing ok. He has had it before but this time he recognised the symptoms so could get to hosp quicker. Nothing like a 3.30 am start to bed at midnight.....I was finished !!!!!Very quiet round here.......

Penthesileia · 04/08/2009 16:31

Rosa! Poor you, and your poor dad! Really hope all's well now.

We've asked the nanny if she'll take our job, and she said yes, so we have a nanny!!!!!!! Hurrah! I feel so relieved, existentially. Didn't realise how much it was worrying me. I have a good feeling about her, and talking to her again on the phone today I was reminded of how warm she seemed. Her references were very fulsome too.

Thanks for all your advice!

Love to everyone!

McCloudsextoy · 04/08/2009 20:09

Hi, girls, sounds scary rosa, look after yourself!

Congrats Penthe, I want to hear all about your adventures with the nanny!

Reading a wonderful book The diary of Jane Somers by Doris Lessing, cannot wait to go back to it tonight!

gio71 · 05/08/2009 07:59

Am glad your Dad is ok Rosa, must have been very stressful!
Congrats Penthe on your Nanny, when does she start?
Back home in Rome now, was lovely in UK but must admit was nice to get away from the grey and drizzle! Count down to Saturday and Toscana now.

Sputnik · 05/08/2009 12:24

It has cooled down quite a bit since last week, luckily. At least up here.
Hope your Dad is feeling better Rosa.
Good news with the nanny Penthe, choosing who to leave your child with is quite a big deal.

McCloudsextoy · 05/08/2009 15:07

warm and sunny here today, phew!

where is pippi then?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 05/08/2009 18:03

I'm here. I've been away for a few days.

Been to Tate modern today and while I turned my head 2 seconds to look at something dd1 had wrote DD2 had disappeared ! She went in literally 2 seconds and was nowhere to be seen. we looked everywhere in a panic until a guy told me she had seen her go up the escalator and gone all the way to the top floor (to the Futurism exhibition non a caso ) where she was handed to the security who kept her occupied - in italian.

My mum almost had un infarto as she thought she was taken . I, knowing my 'polli', had the suspicion she had taken the esc but could have never imagined she physically could without killing or really hurting herself!

she is the devil reincarnated!

a part from that all ok. mum leaving tomorrow . McC will call to arrange much needed outing on our own. (If you can I think this weekend will be fine for me btw.)

Rosa I am sorry about your dad and I am glad he is okay and better now. What a scare for you I imagine.

Penthe good news about nanny. Keep us updated of course.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 05/08/2009 18:04

McC this is how I'll start dd2's notebook... it is so her no?
will go buy them at the weekend.

Sputnik · 05/08/2009 18:41

That sounds like something my DS would do. The other day we were all in a shop and I asked DH if he had any change. He let go of DS's hand long enough to look in his wallet and DS was out the door before we knew it! We had stupidly left DS's pushchair behind, won't do that again in a hurry!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 05/08/2009 18:59

yup. I must say now I know that the everybody stops tone of voice' does not exists for dd2. She just looks at you and laughs. Oh god what am I to do? Not another book to read re toddler taming pls...

Sputnik · 05/08/2009 19:36

Strap her in a pushchair for the next 3 years!

Rosa · 05/08/2009 19:37

Pippi that is scary .... I would have probably had a fit myself .. Glad its better weather wise in Italy now . Today we had lunch outside and if it doesn't rain tom we might even cut the grass !!!! DD1 went to the beach in the morning and she played in the sun senza giacca !!! The first time since we have been here !
Dh and I going out tom pm ...We should have been on at least a 3rd dinner date so far but it hasn't happened so we might get 2 in before he goes !
Gio have a good hol if don't post before you go ....

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 05/08/2009 19:50

houdini gets out of the strap in a sec.

McCloudsextoy · 06/08/2009 09:23

ds was the same and had pram with straps that were hard to undo , even for me. can you imagine if dd2 had been kidnapped at the Tate? I can see the deadlines in the paper, lol. I lost ds in the supermarket once, not so high brow, i was in tears...........And fancy doing the escalators by herself. I think she is going to be an artist!

McCloudsextoy · 06/08/2009 09:24

Pippi, i may have the kids both days this weekend , would you want to do something with them?

Gio, at Toscana...

McCloudsextoy · 06/08/2009 16:27

It is official i am manning the children both days this weekend, so if you want to meet up to do something, maybe CFields let me know..

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 06/08/2009 19:33

an artist? naaaaaa

will do. let me check with MrDamonBradley

McCloudsextoy · 06/08/2009 19:48

Surely MrDamon will jump at the chance of getting rid of Pippi and the little Bradleys?

McCloudsextoy · 06/08/2009 20:47

Actually we could go to Highbury Fields..

Penthesileia · 06/08/2009 22:24

Pippi @ DD2's escapology! That must have been terrifying, although it will make an excellent story in years to come...

What I want to know is, the man who watched her get onto the escalator and go up... What was he thinking? "Wow, they get younger everyday?"

DD loves going in and out of lifts... I'll need to keep an eye on that, obviously.

Have a nice time this weekend, ladies.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 08/08/2009 21:54

McC a thread especially for you !

Rosa · 09/08/2009 13:55
