starlover · 08/05/2005 17:23

hercules · 08/05/2005 17:26

Getting a bit desperate now. Southwards preferable.

Oops - sorry - not semi or detached, but can guarantee good neighbours at least on one side!! Think the others are nice too!

Aero · 08/05/2005 17:30

ps - if you find some, tell us!

Chandra · 08/05/2005 17:37

A house like that won't be less than 300k in the area where I live. Can't believe how unreasonable prices have become! My elderly neighbours just put their house in sale this week for 495,000; as much as I wish somebody paid that amount so they cold enjoy a relaxed retirement I doubt very much they could find a buyer...

sparklymieow · 08/05/2005 17:39

you might be able to get a 3 bed here for £170,000 but its hard to find anything below £180,000, I'm in Welwyn garden city in Herts

hercules · 08/05/2005 17:42

How is the area?

OP posts:
noddyholder · 08/05/2005 17:42

you can get an ex local authority house in brighton for 150-180 but nothing else

Gomez · 08/05/2005 17:43

No chance you want to move to Scotland then ?

moonunit · 08/05/2005 17:44

you can buy one for less than that in Lincolnshire, there's some 4 bedrooms houses for about £170.

hercules · 08/05/2005 17:45

How is Lincolnshire? School etc??

OP posts:
Janh · 08/05/2005 17:48

Excellent schools here, and you can get a semi for that, (or even a small detached ) but you won't be wanting Lancs, will you?

moonunit · 08/05/2005 17:53

I'm in Boston in Lincolnshire, it's not a bad little town and thier are some good schools and we still have the grammer and high schools.

RosiePosie · 08/05/2005 17:57

Isle of Wight . Okay, employment is an issue, but my dh commutes to the mainland daily ( an hour door to door )

WideWebWitch · 08/05/2005 18:24

You would get something in various areas of Bristol hercules but I don't know if that's too far away for you.

golds · 08/05/2005 18:28

Where I live, best part of town with excellent schools - Stafford, with the added bonus of having someone like me close by

hercules, hmb is in Lincolnshire and she's a fellow teacher, so I should bump this and ask her.
