i have two lovely children and i love beign a fulltime mum but i also love going out and having a laugh,im 35 but with a vey young attitude to life, the problem is none of my friends over here seem to want to go out for a girls night out, some are even younger than me,on the rare occasion that weve been out weve always had a great time but like i said is very rare they just seem to be quite happy sitting at home arguing with their husbands and fighting with the kids but i need to switch off and have fun,am i too old for all this?should i just buy myself a rocking chair and start knitting,i need to know im not the only one refusing to grow old too fast

Ok, let's move it to later in the month as this weekend is no good for me. How about 16th. We could always do a Saturday mind you. SOmeone jump in with alternative dates. No venue is too far as far as I am concerned. If we make it on a Saturday night then Richmond is definitely fine for me.

There's three that I know of up for this.

whymummy · 30/04/2003 13:46

Meanmum - I didn't think the thread was offensive at all, just a bit of a giggle really. But our wrists were well and truly slapped! It may have been removed by Tech, but the 2nd part of it was called 'SH - Shameless Flirting thread'.....

mum2toby · 30/04/2003 13:48

I'm going to sunny Scouserland on the 16th!

whymummy · 30/04/2003 13:49

Which day is it to be then? Will have to dust off me glad rags!

Meanmum · 30/04/2003 14:29

Sorry, keep coming back into this thread when no one is looking over my shoulder.

Saturday 17 May at 7.00 pm. See you in the pub across the road from the Richmond train station. This is now in my diary in pen. I'll be there even if no one else shows. I'll be drinking a vodka, soda and lime or vodka and cranberry. Probably the latter so you can recognise me.

mum2toby · 30/04/2003 14:40

I'll be in Liverpool that whole weekend.

leander · 30/04/2003 15:06

M2T,we're having a meet in Liverpool on the 17th May ,why dont you try to join us?

mum2toby · 30/04/2003 15:08

REALLY????? Cooooooooooool!

Where?

I'm going to be in Bootle until the 19th.

leander · 30/04/2003 15:13

It is in the Life cafe on Bold st,look at Liverpool/North-west meet-up, It is a lunchtime meet but who knows we may get a drunken night out of it(hopefully)

willow2 · 30/04/2003 16:17

Richmond eh? Not a million miles from me (actually about two)

mum2toby · 30/04/2003 16:19

Leander.... excellent! I'll get dp to tell me exactly where it is and depending what the inlaws-to-be have planned for us I might just tag along if that's ok!!??

OP posts:
Girly · 30/04/2003 18:19

have written it on the calender so dh will not have any excuse for not knowing! he he! Now how are we to recognise each other? shall we wear badges?!!!

whymummy · 30/04/2003 18:30

i`m making myself a t-shirt!!
are you dressing all glamorous, can i wear my combats??

OP posts:
Meanmum · 30/04/2003 18:42

I'm not dressing up if that is OK. Comfortable is the word as far as I am concerned. I'm not out to pull just to have a bloody good night. I'll be the really large one at the bar with a red drink. I'll be on the vodka and cranberry's.

The more the merrier so any mumsnetters out there lurking and reading this please come and join us.

If we had our badges then it would be a cinch to recognise each other. Sorry for being off line so long had to get ds and do the general stuff you do when the nippers are running around. It is definitely in my diary. I'm definitely not pregnant. Did another test and even though I want to be at least I know I'll be able to drink 'til the cows come home without getting heartburn.

Whymummy - was it you commenting on my slovenly house the other day and saying you were putting a sign up in your window?
