i have two lovely children and i love beign a fulltime mum but i also love going out and having a laugh,im 35 but with a vey young attitude to life, the problem is none of my friends over here seem to want to go out for a girls night out, some are even younger than me,on the rare occasion that weve been out weve always had a great time but like i said is very rare they just seem to be quite happy sitting at home arguing with their husbands and fighting with the kids but i need to switch off and have fun,am i too old for all this?should i just buy myself a rocking chair and start knitting,i need to know im not the only one refusing to grow old too fast

I am too chicken to sing, even when plastered, my voice is THAT bad!

Girly · 30/04/2003 13:17

whymummy, i'll just get my handbag so we can dance around it!

Meanmum · 30/04/2003 13:17

I really am that close. Actually not that close to Richmond but very close to Heathrow. Does that help in locating me. Mind you, I'm an expat and travelling to drink means nothing to me so I go wherever the booze flows.

Yes, I am cheap.

I assumed SH stood for something along the lines of vomiting into but can't figure out what just yet. You know, like driving the porcelain bus.

Girly · 30/04/2003 13:20

Same with my friends! Most of them believe that once you have children, your whole life is over! A few of them won't even come out if we organise a meal for Christmas/Birthdays etc!

So up until November I was getting a bit p*ed off that no-one wanted to go out EVER - then I started my job, and have met some fantastic people, single/married/children etc but still believe in going out! HURRAH!!

I may be a 32 yo mum of 3 - but I'm not quite ready for the cocoa/slippers routine just yet! (although it does take me twice as long to recover from hangover and I can't manage 2 nights out on a trot LOL).

mum2toby · 30/04/2003 13:25

looks like we may need some of those hangover pills, hope you have plenty!

Meanmum · 30/04/2003 13:30

To give us all enough time to mentally prepare (like we need it) how about 9 May. OK It's only a week away but what the hell let's just do it. Personally any day and time suits me so I don't care.

I have no idea of decent places to go to so will leave that up to someone else to suggest and I'll just show up.

I must read this flirting thread that everyone keeps talking about. I'll search for it tonight. Was it really offensive?

M2T - you can do a quick flight into Heathrow from sunny Scotland and I'll pick you up. You've got the offer of a bed. What more do you need. I feel a hens night coming on in London with a load of people you've never met but probably know more about than their partners do.

lou33 · 30/04/2003 13:30

I live in Surrey and am going to Colchester in Essex for my night out. Great 70's/80's night at their Arts Centre once a month, am getting excitied just thinking about it! Only 2 days to go!!!!!! Oh and I am 36 btw.

Meanmum · 30/04/2003 13:31
