i have two lovely children and i love beign a fulltime mum but i also love going out and having a laugh,im 35 but with a vey young attitude to life, the problem is none of my friends over here seem to want to go out for a girls night out, some are even younger than me,on the rare occasion that weve been out weve always had a great time but like i said is very rare they just seem to be quite happy sitting at home arguing with their husbands and fighting with the kids but i need to switch off and have fun,am i too old for all this?should i just buy myself a rocking chair and start knitting,i need to know im not the only one refusing to grow old too fast

Whymummy I'm having a girls night out on Friday, come and join us!!!

Nutjob · 30/04/2003 10:21

I'd be happy to join you on a night out!! I am 33 and it has been about a year since I've been on a girls night out. It's not for the want of trying, it just seems impossible to pinpoint a date where everyone can arrange babysitting etc. I love a bottle of Bud (or 6) and a boogie and if I get the chance I jump at it!!

grommit · 30/04/2003 10:21

Whymummy - not you are not too old!!! In fact my mother is in her 60s and still loves to go out on fun nights out. I think some of us get a bit boring when we have small kids and then as they start to grow up realise what we have been missing. Expect a much better social life in your 40's

whymummy · 30/04/2003 10:45

oh,thank you, thank you i`d love to go out with you but knowing my luck you all live miles away from me as i seem to be the only mumsnetter in middlesex am i??

If you're too old then I'm dead. I'm 34 (soon) and haven't been out for a solid drinking session in ages. It feels like I haven't let my hair down properly since I met my husband. It's all his fault obviously.

I'll come to Scotland and the 70's/80's pub as at least I'll know the music.

Vodka, soda and lime for me please.

whymummy · 30/04/2003 12:44

hi meanmum!!last time i went dancing in england was 1 1/2 years ago in a pub oposite richmond station,we only went in there for a drink on our way home and they started playing 80s music, well i drank 5 alcopops in 10 min. and that was it,my dh would have had to kill me to get me away from the dance floor!!

mum2toby · 30/04/2003 12:46

Girly · 30/04/2003 12:51

Whymummy I am in Middx, where are you then? was beginning to think i was the only one!

Girly · 30/04/2003 12:52

I used to go to school in Richmond, and have been to that pub you mentioned, it has a small dancefloor if i am not mistaken.... We might even know each other!!!!

mum2toby · 30/04/2003 12:55

Ooops! Dangerous ground Girly! What if you hated each other at school?? Or what if she's the person who stole your boyfriend (or something equally contemptious).

Sorry Whymummy - I'm not implying that you're that type of person. Equally - Girly could have been the bain of your life!

whymummy · 30/04/2003 12:55

The plot thickens. I work in Middlesex. This means we can definitely meet, deafen the neighbours, vomit in the rosebushes and generally be debaucherous.

Tonight Matthew I'm going to be a cat on a hot tin roof.

Even when I'm drunk I know I can't sing. Doesn't stop me though.

Girly · 30/04/2003 13:07

Have not chatted with SH for a few weeks now...have you?
