Although I did spend many a happy time in my formative years in the C branch of JL. I think it has all been refurbished since.

Penthesileia · 04/06/2009 22:00

There is indeed a JL here - all revamped and shiney.

What about a fascinator, franca? You could join the MN debate!

Now I'm chatting to myself!

Had a nice feeling this afternoon: even though we've bought a house we can't afford to renovate, and we'll probably never manage to do it all, and we'll still be living with the rising damp and scary carpets and shocking wallpaper years from now... it will all have been worth it for the lovely garden. DD was playing with her little house, and we've got a lovely teak table and chairs for dining al fresco - hopefully we'll get a nice summer this year and really be able to enjoy it.

We're having a party for DD on Saturday, but the weather forecast is showers. Booooo.

I remember the garden looked lovely in the pictures
We're having my DS's party this saturday too, and the forecast is showery here as well.

Penthesileia · 04/06/2009 22:22

Oh gosh, I'm so slow - was it your DS's birthday? Or is it on Saturday? Hope you have lots of fun!

OP posts:

No don't worry, it's on the 15th but we're having it early as DH will be away, and my sister is over.

Penthesileia · 04/06/2009 22:34

Phew. Well, fingers crossed for us both that the rain stays away at the right time.

francagoestohollywood · 04/06/2009 22:37

Oh no! Have I missed you?
I napped in front of the Tv, half watching an implausible movie with Jack Nicholson, diane keaton andkeanu reeves (still very fit)

Oh gosh I hope I'll have the time to do a spot of shopping in c. what is a fascinator?

francagoestohollywood · 04/06/2009 22:38

Oh yes, fingers crossed! Ds had an early birthday party today with another friend of his.

Penthesileia · 04/06/2009 22:57

Lots of birthday parties...! Are you still there? I was watching the news... Poor old Gordon Brown. Seems doomed now...

A fascinator, my dear lady, is one of those bonkers non-hats ribbony, frilly, mad twisty bit perched on your head. Think of the British Royal Family and you'll be getting close!

Cambridge shopping is much improved these past couple of years. It has been disastrous for my bank balance...

Ciao ragazze di ritorno dal profondo sud. Skimmed the thread, lol at patatona, mooncup stuck in back of beyond, frizzy hair near pool and the rest, especially l'asciugamano per il pisello di papa, really pmsl. Happy birthday to the 2 dds and to damon. Is a fascinator a hat then? lol what an odd name.

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 05/06/2009 12:58

oh, right like an isabelle blow thing perched on head...they do look beautiful on people with interesting feature(ex NOT the royal family)

Rosa · 05/06/2009 13:34

Well had my hair done and it was too poofy do have dampened it !!!Happy Birthdays to the dds and Happy Birthday to Pippi - I can remember last year you had lots of cupcakes.....
DH has gone to Bolzano for 3 days so flying solo and am about to see if a cugina can come and help me take both dd to a party - it is the biennale and the city is teaming with very hippy looking people ( lots of black linen , with jesus sandals this year) with bags from each pavillion and cameras - on the vap today I snooped at a leaflet / magazine they were looking at - it all looked upside down to me its no good I just don't understand the stuff !
Right the washing ironing awaits and I also need lunch !!

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 05/06/2009 14:10

lol at the jesus sandals!
hello rosa, by the way i remember you were wondering what to do with dd2 under ombrellone if not sitting up, i would not bother with the bumbo chair, with dd we dug a hole in the sand, put a towel on it and put her in it, so she was sitting up with the support of the sand, no funny looking chair to log around.

Penthesileia · 05/06/2009 15:18

Hello McCloud! Did you have a good time? Nice to see you again.

Rosa - did you at least feel relaxed having your hair done? Hope so.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUON COMPLEANNO, PIPPI! Hope you're having a lovely day and are being spoiled by your DH and DDs.

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 05/06/2009 16:06

yes we had a nice time, but goodness it is nice to be back inthe civilised world...

i have a vision of damon being given a massage by her dh whilst having a glass of wine, and tehn she will be wisked off to a restaurant and then a nightcap, all this wearing her dazzling new diamond ring and sexi chanel number...either that or she is doing the school run in the rain and cooking supper..

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 05/06/2009 16:59

yea right! A day like all others. hopefully tonight!

thanks.

Rosa · 05/06/2009 18:46

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 05/06/2009 21:30

francagoestohollywood · 05/06/2009 22:15

HAPPY BIRTHDAY darling PIPPI!!!

Hope you are having a lovely night

And welcome back Mccloud! I emailed you.

Have just spent 10 minutes writing an online petition to the assessore di Milano against applying the b*y Gelmini reform to the scuile materne comunali here in Milan... my message is now posted on the website... and I realized I made an errore grammaticale Oh the shame

Rosa, hope you enjoyed your hairdresser session. What is it with hairdressers and puffy hair? I hate it when they do it.

Btw, I must confess, that I'd love to go to the Biennale
