I was just wondering where everyone comes from - I'm sitting here in Croydon (South London) having a chat with someone in Australia (or wherever) - it's great!

So what's your home town/country?

Mid Bedfordshire - sandwiched between Bedford & Cambridge. Cambridge is lovely, Bedford's not!

Marina · 11/05/2001 08:24

I am from Sarf East London, pearl of the home counties. Awright?
Lizzer, you LUCKY woman. My parents live in Cockermouth.

Tigermoth · 11/05/2001 08:43

Another SE Londoner, just inside the Royal Borough of Greenwich, if you don't mind! (covers a large area, most of which is as far away from royal as you can get).

Emmam, I grew up in lovely Cambridge. Feel a bit like Rip Van Winkle when I go back. Does your memory stretech as far back as: Waffles cafe, The Alley Boutique, Tigerlily, the Cambridge Tech, and the original Bun Shop?

Paula1 · 11/05/2001 09:44

Official mumsnet Essex girl!

Winnie · 11/05/2001 09:48

I am from Wiltshire, close to Avebury and a stones throw from Bath.

Slug · 11/05/2001 10:56

South East London, Lewisham-Blackheath-Greenwich border, though originally from New Zealand

Debster · 11/05/2001 10:58

Hello from the new city of Brighton and Hove.

I'm going to sit on the beach in my lunch hour!!

Tigermoth · 11/05/2001 11:05

Slug, I used to live just off Blackheath hill and still know lots of people in that area. Near you?

Marina · 11/05/2001 11:12

Slug, I am an SE3 exile (could not afford house on meagre public sector income, sigh). Now banished to cheap but uncharismatic New Eltham. We were at the "Royal" Standard previously and miss local shops, heath & park etc, very much.

Rhiannon · 11/05/2001 18:20

Twinsmum2,yes but just the other side of the M25. My small, intimate local restaurant happens to be the Little Chef and the only thing this area is useful for is Paradise? Park and the marvellous communications ie the M25 and the A10!

Jac · 11/05/2001 20:27

Hi from Hampshire

Midge · 11/05/2001 20:56

Hi from Worcestershire. The bit where the river Severn keeps flooding, but we live right on top of a big hill so we dont care - apart from when we cant park in town because of all of the flood rubberneckers.

Candy · 11/05/2001 21:08

Hello from sunny Brum - the most happening city in the midlands - oh, didn't I say that all that happens is building work?! Maybe it'll start happening soon.
