Bunglie is in hospital again.....

(her DH rang me tonight) and is feeling pretty low and fed up , so I was thinking it would be lovely if lots of people could send her cards and stuff to help cheer her up.

It will have to be via me so please will anyone who wants to send something email me at holden_ jan at hotmail dot com and I'll send you my address, then I can send her a nice bundle

She has a variety of medical probs, UL, and has a permanent catheter (supra-pubic or something?) which keeps getting infected.

Thank you, moo! I have had a lovely birthday, very lazy (best kind) and now enjoying an expensive bottle of wine (wahey, I can tell the difference!).

I had a superpubic for a couple of weeks once and my heart goes out to her if she has one full time. They are difficult to deal with. I don't normally post on mn, more of a lurker but felt I had to post that.

It's called a supra pubic catheter which is inserted under GA through the abdominal wall into the bladder. It has a flip valve on the end which is released to allow urine to pass through or you can have a collection bag attached to the side of your leg.

My dd had one of these for 2 years, having a new tube every 12 weeks mostly without using pain relief. Had to change it myself a few times for her when they fell out in the swimming pool.

I don't know Bunglie but would you pass on my best wishes to her JanH? Knowing what my dd felt like having one of these, my sympathy is with her.

For those that d0on't know her - Bunglie is a truely remarkable lady, and that is nothing to do with her physical problems.

She has suffered more in her life that anyone should have to yet bears it all with remarkable stoichism

If you search the archives you will find some of her threads. Be warned though, you will need a steady supply of tissues
