(her DH rang me tonight) and is feeling pretty low and fed up , so I was thinking it would be lovely if lots of people could send her cards and stuff to help cheer her up.

Well, all phones are supposed to be switched off in hosp, they can interfere with pacemakers and other electronic kit; last time I was in I was naughty and used mine in the bathroom, Bunglie has done the same thing in the past and they caught her so now they know!

They probably still have coinbox phones on wheels but a) who knows anyone's number without their mob and b) who has enough change?

This is probably the worst time of day to do this cos everybody's getting tea, putting to bed etc but just to let you know that this afternoon I sent off a batch of 5 cards (1 was a jiffy bag). I know I've sent my address to 9 people and I think 1 or 2 others had it before so I'm expecting some more tomorrow; and anybody who missed this thread before and would like to send something, please email me at

Did you put your name on the back, jd? 3 of the ones I sent on on Friday had names on but I can only remember definitely 2 of them now (v small brain you know) but if you sent it last Wed/Thu then one will have been yours, won't it?

YES, Kanga! Yours came today. (I wish now I'd suggested putting names on back!)

Last week they were from WWB, moo and one other (I think jodee, but may have been jd, you see my mental confusion!) - plus 2 more - but I can't even describe them now...I think there were 2 coloured envelopes (mauve & cream?) and 2 white ones, and one of the white ones was small, long and narrow. (The 5th was WWB's jiffybag.)
