MargaretMountford · 24/03/2009 15:44

hey - excellent news - my parents garden room has been granted planning permission - at last !!! the roof needs to be lowered but it can all go ahead !!!!!!!!!

hippipotamiHasLost14Pounds · 24/03/2009 16:02

OMG - those custard tarts look soooo nice!! Will try making them when I have lost a bit more weight (so I don't feel too guilty)

28th sounds fine by me - where shall we meet?

hippipotamiHasLost14Pounds · 24/03/2009 16:03

Argh, missed the other bit - great news about the garden room!! How much does the roof need to be lowered by? Is this because of the neighbours? (I ask because at some point we want to build a small room at the bottom of our garden)

MargaretMountford · 24/03/2009 16:06

yes, is to appease neighbours and because the height limit changed between dad asking and the building commencing.
Shall we meet at the place hotcross suggested ?

hippipotamiHasLost14Pounds · 24/03/2009 16:08

Ah, ok (re the building work)
I will have to scroll through the thread to find the place hotcross suggested. And does it have carparking?? [fret]

MargaretMountford · 24/03/2009 16:13

yes, I think so ! was it The Pack House ?

hippipotamiHasLost14Pounds · 24/03/2009 16:16

The Packhouse rings a bell

hippipotamiHasLost14Pounds · 24/03/2009 16:18

Have just googled it - yes it was, and yes it has parking so I am happy!

It will be lovely to see both of you again

MargaretMountford · 24/03/2009 16:39

will be fab - I was telling my friend M about you today - we were discussing internet and how it's so fab for keeping/staying in touch with people and even meeting people ( he has tried internet dating)...

MargaretMountford · 25/03/2009 18:17

hippipotamiHasLost14Pounds · 25/03/2009 19:14

We zullen dit voor hotcross moeten vertalen!

MargaretMountford · 25/03/2009 20:39

poor E !
ok,'fessing up - have used the google translator thing - T was horrified that I was trying to 'trick' you and told me off...
Did I get it right that E wasn't well ?

Hotcrossbunny · 25/03/2009 20:59

Think I understood most of it. Is E OK? Obviously Dutch is reasonably close to German, lots of the words sound/look similar.

MIL has arrived...

hippipotamiHasLost14Pounds · 25/03/2009 22:27

Well done hotcross for understanding, and wow I am impressed the translation thingymijig is sooo good!

You are right, E was not well. She was crying with pain from a headache at lunchtime so school asked me to collect her. You could tell she was in pain, her eyes had that scrunched up look that goes with a bad headache and she was grey. I gave her calpol and she slept for 5 hours or so. Woke up, had some toast and an apple and went back to sleep. Seemed a bit brighter though whilst eating and even did a bit of reading quietly. She said school was 'too noisy' and it gave her a headache.
O has developed a nasty cough, so I fear we are becoming 'the house of ill'.

Anyroad, I am off to bed! Speak to you tomorrow

hippipotamiHasLost14Pounds · 26/03/2009 08:40

Aaaargh, we are the house of ill!!
E had a soaring temperature throughout the night, O had a horrid cough all night.
This morning they both have a temprature, both have a headache and whilst E looks grey, O has bright red cheeks and glazed over eyes...

So no school for either of them today.

Oh joy.

MargaretMountford · 26/03/2009 10:00

oh hippi - poor you, poor children !

hippipotamiHasLost14Pounds · 26/03/2009 10:51

They both perked up after some toast and a hot chocolate.
The are now watching Cbbc snuggled up side by side on the sofa under a duvet (awww)
I am making the most of my unexpected 'house arrest' and have started painting the dining room. I can only do half of it, then dh needs to move teh computer desk etc at some point over the weekend so I can paint the other half. Never mind, at least by early next week it will be done!!
At the moment it is looking very patchy (am painting 'antique white' over a caramel type colour, so it will take a few coats to cover the caramel) and I'll be glad when it is done!

What are you up to today?

MargaretMountford · 26/03/2009 11:07

doing the laundry, then should go into town to get some cash but I really should be drawing ! can't summon up the inspiration though..am dying for my new supplies for necklaces to arrive (ebay and another place) so I can finish my samples and then see if anyone might stock them ! Will take pictures soon...
Hope E and O feel a lot better soon and that your decorating goes well. Have seen a perfect lampshade to hang in our hall when decorating is done - a big cylinder shaped one covered in a pale mocha coloured fabric with cream spots on - will take my paint sample to check it is as perfect as I think it is !

hippipotamiHasLost14Pounds · 26/03/2009 13:00

Wow, that lampshade sounds fab!! What shop was that in?
I am desperate for lampshades for this house but unable to find what I want...

E was crying with headache pain a little while ago, and her temp shot up too. So she has been dosed up and put to bed - she is fast asleep now.
O is feeling a bit brighter but still has a nasty cough.
Painting not going too bad. Have done two coats, must do at least another one.
And have only done 2 walls so the room looks a bit odd ow. But I like it - it looks much lighter and brighter in here already

MargaretMountford · 26/03/2009 15:19

it's a lovely shop called Ernest & Matilda - the girl who owns it designs her own fabrics - this light shade isn't one of hers, but I have a v small one on a table lamp...am sure you'd really like them ! Poor E

MargaretMountford · 26/03/2009 15:35
