Hi, Franca's DS
I am nosey too!

DD has some suspicious looking spots on her tummy and neck, can I shoot myself now?

javierbardem · 19/02/2009 20:16

ohhhhh, varicella for sputnik too!!

have been pissing myself laughing at the will self choosing private education thread. It starts discussing whether his choice is good or bad, and it ends up discussing whether he is shaggable or not! I love mumsnet.

PIPPPPIIII? Are you ill as well? Wondered if we gave you a virus, feeling headachy for last couple of days....and you mentioned being vomity.

Penthesileia · 19/02/2009 21:38

God - my eyeballs are bleeding just reading about Rosa's encounter with bureaucracy... Kafkaesque!

Bucharest: I hope it all works out for you.

Argh @ all the chickenpox!

franca - btw - I have not forgotten about Waitrose cards, etc., but - amazingly - I have not been grocery shopping for 2 weeks! DH went last weekend. I think we'll all go this weekend, and I'll pick them up for you!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 19/02/2009 22:08

Javier I'm all right actually. felt bad that night only.

franca already? good! no prob. I'll send some more. they were not great recipes but hey. waitrose were better no?

Rosa, I'd have screamed too! well done for not throttling (sp?) her though.

I'm a bit miserable so I'm off to bed.

Penthesileia · 19/02/2009 22:10

Sorry you're miserable, Pippi! I hope you feel better in the morning.

Notte!

francagoestohollywood · 20/02/2009 09:10

Pippi, sorry to hear you are feeling miserable, hope things look better this morning

Penthe, no worries . I'm just impressed you didn't go to supermarkets for 2 weeks. When the dc were tiny, going to the supermarket was an exciting distraction for me

Sputnik, is it chicken pox? Oh no!

I have a hang over. I went out with some friends yesterday night and drank 5 glasses of wine and this morning I'm shattered. Pathetic!

Penthesileia · 20/02/2009 09:51

Ouch, a hangover! Are you feeling any better now?

Pippi - how are you this morning? Hope you are ok today.

Bucharest · 20/02/2009 09:56

Bucharest, whistling innocently, quietly closes the door on the bf thread before she starts chucking pans at people, and settles down into the quiet haven of Little Italy.........ahhhhh, that's better.

Morning all! Pippi- have some firm but un-mumsnetty hugs from me too......

Gosh, is the whole of the north down with the pox????? Hope everyone gets better soon....

Just had another media on the phone wanting me......(hmmm, I like to think it's because I'm just so wonderful, but think it's more likely that I'm the only madrelingua applying for these things!) Just need now to find a babysitting solution within the next week...aaaaargh!

Brangelina · 20/02/2009 09:56

Franca, you lightweight. Mind you, I'm still suffereing from going out and drinking wine at the beginning of the week.

Pippi, has something happened or are you just feeling generally grotty?

Penthesileia · 20/02/2009 09:58

LOL @ Bucharest! I'm getting drawn in... I know I shouldn't!

Hey Brange - thanks for agreeing with me. Gives me a thrill!

Brangelina · 20/02/2009 10:01

I was going to post something eloquent, but then was on the phone and found you had posted something even more eloquent, thus saving me the effort.

I never normally get involved in those threads as I don't have the energy or desire to get my blood pressure up, but I saw Bucharest being contradicted and just had to stick my oar in.

francagoestohollywood · 20/02/2009 10:03

I drank and I smoked 2 cigarettes. How decadent was that? I need a coffee now.

Bucharest, I'm impressed!

I really don't feel militant at all about breastfeeding, apart from feeling great about not having to spend money on formula milk.

francagoestohollywood · 20/02/2009 10:05

. I think of all the people I know here in Milan only very few ffed their babies, and only after having given bf a try.

Brangelina · 20/02/2009 10:08

What, this morning? That is indeed decadent.

Penthesileia · 20/02/2009 10:10

LOL Brange!

Penthesileia · 20/02/2009 10:12

I feel militant about bf-ing not in the day-to-day sense: ie. I do not go up and greet other bf-ers with a raised fist salute, nor do I snatch the bottle away from ff mothers!

But I feel militant about it in a broader sense: it is linked to the militancy I feel about advanced market capitalism.

francagoestohollywood · 20/02/2009 10:13

No!!! Yesterday night! I only smoke when I can nick a cig to a friend. I'm not that decadent really

Brangelina · 20/02/2009 10:16

Lol, me too. I have a real bugbear about Kinder and similar, who market their products as being healthy ('cos there's milk in there somewhere...). I even had a go at a demonstrator or whatever they're called promoting a new Kinder product at the supermarket. DP was most embarrassed.

Brangelina · 20/02/2009 10:17

Lol! Are you sure? You can admit it to me you know

Bucharest · 20/02/2009 10:29

Rofling now- and soooo agree about Kinder and those wazzits- Pavesini- "they've only got butter and sugar in! All natural!" FFS.

I'm not really militant either, I just hate the whingey mentality in the UK (especially) and the "I didn't really fancy it" attitude. Well, I didn't really fancy getting a stonking great child out of my vagina, or changing shitty nappies, but y'know......

francagoestohollywood · 20/02/2009 10:33

Yes, I have a thing against advanced market capitalism too , but sometimes real life gets in the way . ANd I must confess that I find Kinder delice ahem delicious and - on that basis -I buy them.

I breast fed because the idea of sterilizing bottles as a sleep deprived human being scared me no end

Bucharest · 20/02/2009 10:36

(I like Kinder delice too. But fetta al latte tastes like cloth nappies)(I imagine)

Bucharest · 20/02/2009 10:37

(now a pan di stelle cake not the biscuits mind, but the buns....well, I'm anybody's for one of them)
