lol sunflower. I missed it!

Rosa · 04/03/2009 13:41

Sorry missed it as in this house it is Tractor Tom at that time !! Well my turn to shout about Amazon I am missing 2 parcels with dd birthday presents in plus the party items ...ok the party items have another 2 days to arrive. I was on a high with Amazon as part of the order arrived within 2 days with UPS !!! Thats the bit from Nonna so Dh and I are tossing a coin as who is going to go to the Disney store to get something for dd from us so she can open it in the morning - DH says she will not mind as we only have a book at the mo I say I think she should have something she is too little to understand that the bloomin post has let us down ! Thing is that the grandparents are bring her present in April as its too hard to post so she only has 2 things so far to open !
Sunflower the only time I had a massive leak was when I was ill as well - wierd ! Now I only leak if am mega full and she starts crying but they sting like mad first ..strange !
Bags - only cross body hands free ones for me for teh next few years I think !

Rosa, is dd's birthday tomorrow already? I'd get a little something too, you are right, she's too young to understand that the post is late! AUGURONI to dd !

Have just set my eyes on the actual cost of the bag i like, looks like I'd have to save coins for the next 10 yrs

Sputnik · 04/03/2009 16:38

How much is one of those bags then?
Tbh I don't think they're all that. Mind you, those quilted chanel ones are hideous! I had a run in on S&B the other week over those. Or did you mean another chanel bag?

Bugger about the pressies Rosa.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 04/03/2009 16:45

Buon Compleanno Rosa'd DD then for tomorrow. I was due tomorrow, but was in a hurry I guess I'd get her s.tihng and maybe keep some of the post stuff for another occasion if you don't want to give her too many things

DD & DS are lying on the grass-rug watching cbeebes together.. so sweet.... time for dd's nap (all dealyed by her earlier refusal to sleep...)

francagoestohollywood · 04/03/2009 17:09

Sunflower, have you picked your present?

Sputnik, yes, I must admit I really like the quilted chanel bags . But they are so expensive I'm actually ashamed to type the price. I thought that the balenciaga bags were around 700 euros, but on that website it says they are 1.500 dollars. So, deffo no designers bags for me

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 04/03/2009 17:55

I think i'll go for the olive with green orchid... maybe... too late for my bday so can think a bit more

me and ds have decided we're having chinese tonight... b-day treat, can't be asked cooking... and then tiramisu'!!

dd's still up, she won't sleep, tried cot/sling/sofa, so she's back on the rug with ds and cbeebies

Sputnik · 04/03/2009 18:17

Really Franca they are hideous granny bags, and I have seen the price tag
I did suggest a fake one on the S&B thread where someone was drooling over them!
TBH the whole expensive bag thing leaves me cold.

Sputnik · 04/03/2009 18:17

Is your birthday today Sunny?
If so have a happy one!

francagoestohollywood · 04/03/2009 20:06

Yes, have a happy birthday sunflower . I do apologize to all of you for keeping forgetting dates, getting mixed up, forgetting dc's ages... where are my grey cells? boh!

Sputnik, yes, virtuous Franca is against expensive bags etc, but there is an evil side of me, the lato oscuro della forza, which makes me drool over fashionable things .

Sun, lol, a friend of mine swears on the beaches in Forte dei Marmi... having investigated, I found out that the fakes are sold for around 300 euros there . People are mad.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 04/03/2009 20:57

happy birthday sunny!

I am very pleased to see that another italian/foreigner has fallen for the 'can't be asked' thing. I have said it for years that way - cos it makes sense. when I was then told that it is in fact 'I cannot be arsed' therefore not so polite I was gutted as I really liked the expression and is so useful and perfect.

I like expensive stuff too but I am too righteous to buy them when I haven't got the money. when I do I tell myself that you pay for what you get and they last a long time. I'm not talking of 'that' kind of money though.

francagoestohollywood · 04/03/2009 21:03

Chi piu' spende meno spende, Pippi? It's my mantra

francagoestohollywood · 04/03/2009 21:04

Anyway, I'd like to state here that I don't have a single designer bag.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 04/03/2009 21:11

Yes that's the one. and sometimes it is true I'm afraid. still hard to justify the money. my friend once came to london, took me to harrods looking for a present for his girlfriend. in a minute he picked up a hermes bag (like we would with a pair of h&m socks) and shelled 700pounds lika that!!

I've got a diesel bag which I love (mainly because it has got a pics of dd on it - which needs updating obviously)

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 04/03/2009 21:11

that's all I've got I menat to say.

francagoestohollywood · 04/03/2009 21:14

. I thought Hermes bags were more expensive . Bloody hell . 700 pounds... to me they are still 2.100.000 lire

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 04/03/2009 21:17

well 700pounds 10 years ago though. In those days of waitressing and bedsits and nightbuses I could have lived months with 700pounds. but it was more the 'do you like it - okay' (I didn't but he doesn;t listen ) thing that got me.

francagoestohollywood · 04/03/2009 21:23

700 pounds 10 yrs ago were a lot . I remember being shocked at a gin and tonic costing 5 pounds then, and it was a tiny glass.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 04/03/2009 22:15

thanks for the b-day wishes, just having my tiramisu (I know, it's late, but DP was delayed, then s.one picked up our order at the chinese take away, so he had to wait another 30 mins, got home and half of it was wrong, and dd was complaining, and then all the phonecalls........ and so now I can breathe and have my cake in peace!

I lived off £600 for 3 months 11 years ago!!! and had a social life!!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 04/03/2009 22:16

franca, the secret is going at the end of the day, or better still at the end of the peak season, then they just want to get rid of stuff!

francagoestohollywood · 04/03/2009 22:19

Sunflower, you sound very "ferrata".. any secret you want to spill?

francagoestohollywood · 04/03/2009 22:19

tiramisu'

Penthesileia · 04/03/2009 22:20

Happy Birthday, Sunflower!!!!!!

Hope you finally managed to enjoy your takeaway!

franca - I'm the same. I know designer handbags are a shocking and frivolous waste of money, but I still can't help looking at them...

I have a Lulu Guinness bag - fun bag: silver, sparkly angel wings!
a Mandarina Duck bag - blue canvassy cross body bag, which I use as a changing bag and everyday bag at the moment
a The Bridge bag - brown leather classic bag from DH (boring! )

I have to tell myself every time I see a Mulberry bag, or whatever, that I don't need anymore bags...

francagoestohollywood · 04/03/2009 22:23

Mulberry bags! How could I forget of Mulberry bags? I love them.
Yes I do have a frivolous side. And at times it is very loud and difficult to ignore.

Penthesileia · 04/03/2009 22:27

Mulberry bags are particularly evil because some of their models (is that the right word? ), like the Bayswater, are so sensible looking, and seem as if they would hold everything, and be exactly the kind of bag that a precisely non-frivolous person should own... And thus I am very tempted... But they still have a frivolous price-tag!
