Oh no, not at all Javier. I don't tend to think women are slags as a rule (all I can do is being a bit ... as I seriously didn't have that many boyfriends. I've always been unable to flirt, damn it!)
Notte!

Penthesileia · 01/03/2009 22:55

Notte everyone.

francagoestohollywood · 01/03/2009 22:56

Oh my goodness penthe

Penthesileia · 01/03/2009 22:57

My school was well hard.

I'm ok now.

Penthesileia · 01/03/2009 23:00

Sorry to leave you with that unpleasant image before you go to bed!

Definitely night-night now.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 01/03/2009 23:16

sorry missed you all, busy deciding on my b-day present , well deciding one possibility and then tell DP... which one would you get (none of the black ones as I already have this and this)... (I think I've shortlisted - left to right/top to bottom- these 4, 13, 14, 25, 26)

hi franca, glad to hear all well and that you had a good time!!!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 01/03/2009 23:27

and quite like this (theresa)

pippi, sorry, forgot to answer - DP will tell them next week that he'll leave now, we've actually started planning the summer (conservatory, business, house viewings, christening) feel so much better!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 01/03/2009 23:28

been talking a lot to myself lately... dp's fault for working!!

gio71 · 02/03/2009 07:36

Am a bit late to the conversation but just to add my two pennies worth I think dcs definitely need telling they are beautiful (as well as clever, funny etc). I don't know what you guys think but I have always thought (generalising hugely here) that it is one of the key differences between Italians and Brits- generally Italians seem to have more self confidence and self esteem than Brits and I am convinced this comes in part from being praised and told they are wonderful when little (Brits-again generalising- tend to be more reticent in handing out compliments of this kind). Many moons ago I used to teach Italian teenagers and I was always struck for example by how the plainer/larger teenagers in the group weren't any less rowdy/pains in the arses/confident and were in the thick of it with the goodlooking/thinner ones (very different on the whole to UK).

gio71 · 02/03/2009 07:43

Sunflower I like 26 and the last link you posted but they are all beautiful. Glad you have gone with that choice with DH and work, you obviously seem relieved with decision so must be the right one

Rosa · 02/03/2009 07:59

Sunflower just make sure it supports your back - when they are tiny IMO they are fine but when they get heavier the straps fold and dig in , they rub on your bra straps and irritate your wasitband if you don't get it right. Can I suggest that you go and try before you buy honestly ....... and if your dh is going to wear it as well get him to try it. We had a material one and then moved very swiftly onto a boring Baby bjorn . Whne dd1 went into a back carrier for walks in the hills / mountains etc we must have tried on 10 before we got one that would suit both of us !!!
Dh at home so am in pjmas on the computer !!! Better go and do something domestic have no excuse this morning !!!

sunflower those slings/wrap are beautiful. make me want to buy one even though I will never wear one - god knows why. I feel they put too much weight on my shoulder and back. but I love the teresa one. and the blue flowery one. when's your bthday btw?
I'm glad of how you feel about the decision. good.

dd stayed for 5 min in our bed then went back to her own with a hotwater bottle.

busy morning but lovely sunny day - spring is here yuppie!!!!!!!!!

spring is my bestest season ever

Penthesileia · 02/03/2009 09:09

Hii gio, hi Rosa.

When's your birthday? They all look lovely, Sunflower - I particularly like the Orchid Fantasy Jasmine with Olive Strap (25); and the Theresa is also v. nice.

I'm very tempted now too! I have 2 Moby wraps, which I love, as they spread the weight of DD (9.7kg) across my back really well - I can wear her for hours with the Moby; I find I can only wear the Baby Bjorn for an hour or so before it becomes uncomfortable on my shoulders.

But the Moby is difficult to wear on your back, unless you have someone to help you put it on... And I would like to start wearing DD on my back, and these look very easy to use!

Lovely and sunny here too!

Where is Bucharest?

And how many weeks is Tantik? She must be due soon. Hope she's ok.

javierbardem · 02/03/2009 09:49

Thank you for last night conversation girls. I swear that i can spell and i can do punctuation, last night i seem to have forgotten all the rules.

To be honest I like all the slings, unfortunately could never do sling with mine, i just felt very uncomfortable. But I like them all, tempted to get one too!

It's great making a decision about something and making plans!!!

I love all seasons. Quite chilly still.

Anyone watche Margaret with Lindsay Duncan, it was on the telly last week.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 02/03/2009 10:01

hi, thanks for your votes!

the normal carriers just hurt my shoulders/back too much, with the wraps instead I can carry DD for hours without even feeling her! but like Penthe I'd like to start carrying her on my back, and think an MT would be quicker to wear... DP can wear them on the plain side and we still have a normal carrier and a chicco backpack hooded thingy in case.

yes, I feel so relieved - well when DP gets the letter. I still get a bit anxious about going back to work, you know, that "will I fit in again" feeling, but at least not as I would be if DD was at nursery/CM, especially as the only one I liked round here, which DS attended, had to close (they were very good and the cheapest so couldn't be competitive anymore). but I've still got a few months!

I alwasy tell DS how pretty he is, and clever etc (and he tells me too ), though he says only girls are pretty, boys are cool . I wasn't very confident, especially as a teenager, but nothing to do with my parents, they were always supportive/complimentary, I was just very shy, til I came to London really, I guess having to fend for myself "woke" me up.

b-day is on wed... might get the tiramisu' out of the freezer....

gio71 · 02/03/2009 11:24

what was Margaret like Javier? I wanted to watch it but was back in Italy by then. My Dad was talking about it on the phone last night-it has reignited the hatred he has for her (not that it needed much to reignite it!)
Jealous of your sun! Me & DS just been to shops and got soaked! Gave us an opportunity to shelter in a bar and have cappuccino and cornetto however

javierbardem · 02/03/2009 11:36

Have not seen it yet, will try to catch it on iplayer, pity is not available in Italy. I like Lindsay Duncan very much. Quite curious to see what Maggie was like, she was an amazing woman, unfortunately only did awful things. Not sure if it is in episodes.

javierbardem · 02/03/2009 13:05

tantik baby must have arrived, ahhhh, the joys of a newborn.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 02/03/2009 13:43

hmm sumflower you are making me want to buy it. I've never tried them on my back, as by then I'd had enough. but sounds confortable and easy. let me see again... would you think it'll be easier on the plane?

yes tantik... maybe she's holding her bundle right now

I'm about to go for a walk in a cemetery..dd's wish.

javierbardem · 02/03/2009 13:46

javierbardem · 02/03/2009 13:47

ohh,i love cemeteries...i don't find them sad, especially the english ones, very full of life and beauty..

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 02/03/2009 13:54

I like them too. I love the one in my city as it's full of lovely memories of going with my mum and brothers. not sure what dd expects though.

ciao.

francagoestohollywood · 02/03/2009 14:06

Oooh I was obsessed with cemeteries when I was a small child. My paternal grandmother used to have a flat on Lago Maggiore, just round a corner from a lovely village cemetery, which I visited every time I went there. I loved it and wanted my grandmother to tell me the stories of those people. I wasn't aware of spoon river then . Luckily grandmother was a brilliant storyteller and would make up good stories for me .

Gio, do you really find that italians are good at praising their children? I find that we do praise them, but we (Italians I mean) also criticize our children more openly than the English do. Boh!

Sunflower I love those slings!

Shall I text Brange and see if everything's ok?
