Hi.scottishAnnie..My 12 year dd got the burberry casting tomorrow as well .She had four casting with them in the last year and a half, you would think they would know what she looks like by now..

joflow · 23/10/2008 15:18

hi

Anyone with SW?

yummymummyno1 · 23/10/2008 15:44

Hi joflow - we are with SW.
Within 1 week of being on their website he got a straight job and then yesterday had a casting for a commercial. So I am quite happy with them as has only been a couple of weeks.

joflow · 23/10/2008 15:48

Hi yummymummy

How old is your lo?

Jayney69 · 23/10/2008 15:58

Hi. Have just been offered interview for daughter at Rascals in Woodford Green. No start up fees. Has anyone got any experience of them (am completely new to this). Thanks

yummymummyno1 · 23/10/2008 16:01

Joflow - he has just turned 7.
Are you with SW, or are just trying to find out a bit about them beforehand. Their start up costs are quite high which put me off slightly but am hoping it will pay off.

brooke77 · 23/10/2008 16:13

hi jayney.. we are with rascals.. they do have start up fees which are higher than some.. however they are a very well known and reputable agency and do get lots of work.. good luck !

joflow · 23/10/2008 16:20

Hi yummmymummy

I was with SW for 1 year had 3 jobs i big New look my son is currently in store on posters (only toddler boy) where they sell childrens clothing 0-10yrs.

They have offered to represent him again but thought i would try a few others he has been accepted by ES,BK,AK,KK and waiting for replies from MOT and U/A.

But i am thinking better the devil u know and i know SW have a big Baby r us going on and DS been put forward and other t.v ads.

I think maybe the 2 stage is hard and now DS entering the 3s may get better. Just dont know what to do for best.

ichef · 23/10/2008 17:08

DS2 got the job from the casting on Monday so we're off to London tomorrow with him and DD as she also has a casting.
I read once someone saying that only the parents can take children to casting, is this really true? back in the USA my nanny used to take them to casting and even jobs and wasn't a problem, I'm wondering what we'll do if DS2's job goes longer than we expect she might miss her casting if the nanny can't take her, dh not happy to take her, anyone can give me any advice?

Housemum · 23/10/2008 17:08

Hi, I just had a call about Burberry but can't be bothered - they've seen her twice before and DD has a party at the gym tomorrow that she's looking forward to.

liahgen · 23/10/2008 17:57

yeah me too for burberry. Haven't seen ds for over a year but got work for half 7 tomorrow night so can't be trecking into london.

marymay · 23/10/2008 18:04

They see so many kids then pick about three.
Not to say i wouldnt like dd to be one of them
They never seem to use her age group.

Totallyfloaty35 · 23/10/2008 18:20

ichef,i tend to send my kids to castings/jobs with the aupair if im busy,no-one says anything and at castings your there for such a short time and they dont know who is related to who,so dont worry about sending the nanny.

liahgen · 23/10/2008 18:22

anyone that you send with your child can chapperone. On commercials you may find they will need the name of the person. They tend to put parent, as i suppose it cuts down on

aunt/mum/dad/best mate/nanny etc.

ichef · 23/10/2008 18:58

DD is also going to Burberry, who else is going to be there? Would be lovely to meet (if I manage to go, of course!)

Thanks for the advice re chaperone, just in case we need I'll take nanny with us to ds' job and if needed she can drive dd to the casting, I'm hoping none of this will be needed, was really happy when we got the call re Burberry job but now reading this thread I'm slightly put off

ichef · 23/10/2008 19:12

I meant Burberry casting not job!

liahgen · 23/10/2008 19:39

ichef, someone has to get the job.

If you have other kids with you, they're normally happy to phograph them aswell, in fact they normally ask...Is dd/s here for shot, do you mind if we take a pic.

They wanted my dd last time we went there but i'd taken her out at the time as she was so unfriendly at that time.

my ds has done wok for burberry so it can be done. They tend to go for the unusual look, ie lots freckles, a traditional haircut for example.

Let us know how you get on.

Onthebeach · 23/10/2008 20:11

Hi, we are going to burberry tomorrow for ds 4yrs, wll be there about 12.30ish. Luckily already in London with baby ds for another job as not getting hopes up with burberry after reading thread!

joflow · 23/10/2008 20:29

Hi

Are Burbery seeing boys and girls which age group?

liahgen · 23/10/2008 20:29

my ds is 11 so quite a large age group.

marymay · 23/10/2008 20:33

They asked to take ds photo as well last time dd went for the burberry casting.
its football tomorrow so he definitely wont want to come
I think my dd got that sort traditional look ,But not been lucky enough to be choosen yet.
ive tried to put her picture on my profile dont think its worked

liahgen · 23/10/2008 20:35

can't see your profile mary. My kids are in mine

joflow · 23/10/2008 20:37

Hi

liahgen · 23/10/2008 20:37
