think we've been deleted,so shall we put ourselves here in other subjects ?
Sleepless night fretting about T and loos and lunches at big school - how neurotic am I ?!

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/01/2009 17:06

oh lucky,lucky E !!!
is O interested in clothes ? T doesn't mind what he wears so I get to choose his stuff, though I do ask him about colours etc..he was given a really nice Fat Face hoody by my brother and SIL which looks good and he has new Boden pjs, a green striped rugby shirt and a nice light blue long sleeved top from Boden - all presents from my mum.Am thinking that soon he'll be label conscious and Boden won't cut it (am hoping he'll still like Gap and H&M)
Poor doggle hotcross - hope he is better soon - see, that is one of my worries about having our own hound. T's picked a mystery dog to sponsor through Dog Trust - £1 a week -so,stage one towards getting one of our own !

Funny you should say that about O. I fear the days of my choosing for him are over...

I had a sneaky peak at teh Boden spring preview adn selected a lovely brown t-shirt with a skittle pin on it, and some matching brown ticking-stripe shorts.
Showed them to him (was not going to order yet, just browsing) and he said they were too baby-ish.
I then went through the rest of the boden spring selection with him adn he disregarded anything with patterns or images. Shorts have to be a plain colour and either beige, brown or navy. Tops have to be plain or perhaps with a stripe, but no patterns or pictures. Sigh. He is becoming an old fart!!

Lucky E indeed. I fear I have spoilt her somewhat...
Having said that, most of those dresses adn teh anorak will be put away for next winter...

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/01/2009 17:15

yep, I've discounted patterns/pictures as too babyish for T !! stripes are fine but anything gimmicky seems to not be right... sigh ! the clothes I loved most of all were some H&M dungarees a friend sent him when he was tiny -the had cats on and were adorable...

OP posts:
hippipotami · 05/01/2009 17:47

I thought they would still be okay for O. Of course it depends on teh pattern/picture itself, but I thought a bowling pin was not exactly baby-ish. But alas, he has decided patterns and pictures are out.

O had the fabbest grey fleece dungarees with a beetle car on when he was a baby, and other faves were blue denim dungarees with a space ship on.... Soooo cute [sob]

At least with E I still get a bit of a say

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/01/2009 18:03

oh I think O would be fine with patterns and pictures at his age ! I suppose it depends on whether he thinks it's ok !!

OP posts:
hippipotami · 05/01/2009 20:57

I would have thought so too MAS, he is not even 9 and a half yet... Of course not fire-engines, trains and puppies, but like boden have mountain bike logos, bowling / skittle pin etc. I thought they would be fine...
But no, he wants to be a big boy already! Actually, I can see where he is coming from, he is tall and big for his age (all this clothes are age 11-12) and at school, at swimming and at drama club he is seeks out the older boys (okay not so much at school because he is Y5 now so he is almost the oldest, but both at swimming and at drama he enjoys the company of the 12+ aged kids.

I don't mind really. At least he is still happy with stripes!

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/01/2009 09:14

Hope all dcs happily back into the routine (and you too !)
I'm back to my usual routine of Sainsbury's today - sigh..
Took my parents into Basingstoke yesterday to show them how to get in and out with the least fuss !
Trying in vain to find short,or even long sleeved vests for T - none in M&S - only in little boys sizes - and nothing on any other website - I forgot to look in Bhs or Debenhams..but nothing on their websites either. Oh how I wish for Woollies

just got letter from Dogs Trust saying that T's sponsored dog is called Phil !! no idea what breed he is as T's letter is waiting for him to open with all the details - am very excited ! What do you think he sounds like / I'm thinking whippet/lurcher...

OP posts:
hippipotami · 08/01/2009 11:23

I love love love the idea of a dog named Phil!! That is one seriously cool dog

I ordered some fab long sleeved vests for O from teh M&S website. They are lovely, am very pleased!

All of E's lovely Boden sale items arrived yesterday. She skipped off to school this morning in her new blue dotty coat

I like all of it bar the pink pinni with the big flower on it. Next to the other dresses it is a bit plain and perhaps a bit baby-ish But that is the one dh likes best so I won't be sendign it back.

I am havign a very lazy morning, chatting with a friend and now mnting. REally must go and walk dillydog, but my toes are cold so I don't fancy trudging through the frozen mud.

Hope doggle is okay hotcross

hippipotami · 08/01/2009 11:24

Oh yes, the minute you said Phil I was picturing a lurcher, before I even read the rest of your post. Yes, creamy sandy coloured, slightly 'beardy' chin, brown eyes, that is how I am picturing Phil..
(or am I getting confused with Phil Collins??)

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/01/2009 11:36

ha ha ! will report back when T has opened the envelope ...I looked on M&S website at long sleeved vests but none in T's age group...

OP posts:
Hotcrossbunny · 08/01/2009 12:01

I love the name Phil for a dog I'm picturing a Heinz 57, prob black/tan cross with hUUUUUUUge doleful eyes, who needs lots of TLC. Can't wait to find out!

Am about the clothes, that was fast service. Is E happy?

I've just got back from a PTA meeting. It was in a new recruits house, and I've come home with vast amounts of house envy again... The cottage isn't vast, but was so light and airy, with cute wee fireplaces, and she's very well travelled, and there was lots of evidence of it! Lovely pictures, pottery etc. Even the mugs we used were handmade, matching pottery ones. Aaaaaaagh. Made me see how tired and grotty our house is Must get our acts together and sort it out....

Thanbks for asking about doggle. He's off to the specialist on Tuesday, potentially for an MRI, but does seem a bit better, so hopefully they might not need to do one. We'll see. He's getting frustarted at lead exercise, he's desperate to run free.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/01/2009 14:58

fingers crossed for doggle's recovery - poor thing xxx
House envy was in our first postings wasn't it ?!
Am sure your house is lovely hotcross. T home soon - am longing to see what Phil is like - have posted his name on my facebook page and my friend Phil said 'Hmmph ' !

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 08/01/2009 15:37

he's a collie cross and is 5 and he's lovely !! am sending you a picture

OP posts:
hippipotami · 08/01/2009 16:47

Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow, he is lovely And he looks a bit like a Phil too

hotcross, don't worry about house envy, I am sure your house is lovely too

I have come to the conclusion I will always have house envy, but my resolution for the new year is to be delighted with what I do have and not yearn for what I don't!
( let's see how long that lasts, shall we??)

Have just come in from teh school run, stood chatting to K whilst our children played, and suddenly it was dark!!
She has taken O home to play with her ds, and I have her dd here to play with E.
They are currently upstairs wrecking playing in Emily's room.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/01/2009 16:56

my best friend has just said that he looks scary - think he looks a little like my old dog Trixie who was a bit of a minx and as my granny said ' had a cold eye' - actually she was a great dog but wilfull !

OP posts:
Hotcrossbunny · 08/01/2009 17:10

Oh, he is lovely. I'm guessing Jack Russell, so probably a fiery chirpy wee thing. What does T think??? Do you know anything about him? How he came to be with the Dog's Trust etc? It makes me want to rescue the whole lot of them

hippipotami · 08/01/2009 17:10

I think it is perhaps not the most flattering picture of Phil, but I think he is cute. He looks like he has some Jack Russel in him too???

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/01/2009 17:24

yes, think so too - there's another picture on T's membership card of him in profile. Trixie was a Jack Russell of sorts.

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 08/01/2009 17:25

it says he's a collie cross and was born in 2003, he likes the sea and pork pies and has been at the Shoreham rescue centre since 2005

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 08/01/2009 17:28

oh and T is very pleased !

OP posts:
hippipotami · 08/01/2009 17:30

Brilliant

Well done T!

I think Phil is handsome, and you should be very proud

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/01/2009 18:01

Ahh thank you !

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 10/01/2009 18:28

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 10/01/2009 18:28
