Just thought we should start a September thread

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone on UAN, hope it's good news and acceptance's all round

Yes, I agree with MelodyDaisy on the school thing. I would get them involved from the start, rather than leaving it until you need to tell them - that's what I did and they were great about it :D

Why not ring tem? I know I probably wouldn't be able to help myself, the suspense would kill me!!

DS1 is 'pencilled' for a corporate video next week so fingers crossed!

Iched-You heard on the recent castings you did? We didn't hear back from Monday's one my ds1 did.

Puffling, they are doing the names alphbetically - so if you are late in the alphabet, then hang by the phone. Good luck!

Puffling - I rang as not heard and was told DD accepted. Sarah very obliging so I would ring as know I couldn't hold myself back. I had to ring London office to get number for Newcastle office.

I was going to ask Sarah how many kids they were taking on as if they are taking on hundreds not sure whether to stay with agency with at present.

If anyone is waiting for UAN to phone and they speak to Sarah can they ask. Otherwise I will ring when forms come through.

just wandered how many they are taking on, have been desperate to get a yes from UAN, and am thrilled for everyone but it seems everyone who had a consultation has a contract, does anyone know if this is the case??

I have an appointment with Boss at the end of October i know quite a few others have mentioned having one, just wandered if anyone has cancelled theirs and how, lol?!

Steph - I have an appointment with Boss as well - haven't cancelled yet as was waiting to hear from UAN. Like you I am a bit sceptical as if they take on everyone there will be so much competition.

Not sure what to do!!!

UA are known to keep their numbers small, so i doubt you need to worry too much about that !
Congrats to all those who have been accepted.. esp Tinkerbellchelle's ds.. well done, great news !! hope the castings and jobs roll in soon !!

I would guess that they are bound to have to take on a lot as they are starting from scratch. They already have some clients in the North,which is why they are setting up.

Most of the London agencies have lots of existing models so can only take on a few each year. You can bet that it will be much more difficult to get into UAN next year!

Why did people apply to join UAN? Because they hold such a high reputation within the industry and only takes on models they think they'll get work for and don't take models with a similar look, so you shouldn't really have any concern's. The worry of not getting any work is the same in all agencies regardless but the fact UA ave said yes is great news so good luck and stop worrying

We have had a yes from UAN today! To be honest I'd not really put much thought in to it as have been preoccupied recently (my lovely mum has just undergone a course of chemo and had a bone marrow transplant yesterday ) so it was a nice surprise, I can't wait to tell her the news, I'm sure it will cheer her up.

Congrats to the others, there seems to be a few and good luck to those waiting

I read on another forum a mother of 3 girls said they were rejected by UAN

I do agree with hopelesshousewife that they obviously need to build a casting from scratch so they'll probably take on as many as they can but I'm sure they're only taking kids that they really believe will have work.

Steph - Are you still going to go to Boss - not sure if UAN are sole rep but if not as long as in different towns you may be able to join both.

Christabel - Sarah told me on the phone that UAN were a sole agency, so both wouldn't be possible. I feel a bit like after all the waiting i'd be a little crazy not to go with them!!
Really liked the look of Boss too but i have never heard so many positive comments about another agency as i have UA. What are you goingto do??
