OP posts:
Fifiona291 · 01/03/2025 21:05

None

Dolambslikemintsauce · 01/03/2025 21:08

None... And only ever met 1 person with my first name!

Starlightstarbright4 · 01/03/2025 21:08

Absolutely loads but it’s a common surname.

Frontroomroomjungle · 01/03/2025 21:09

One. And they were a supply teacher at the school I was at, absolutely mortifying at the time.

Darkclothes · 01/03/2025 21:10

None.
Both my maiden name and married name seem very uncommon, despite both being British surnames. I've lived in 3 countries too.

EwwSprouts · 01/03/2025 21:11

None but there is a woman in the same city who has the same first name and her married surname is my maiden one. Sometimes my parents' friends will say oh we say your daughter in the photos of some event but it's her.

EducatingArti · 01/03/2025 21:12

None here either

Reugny · 01/03/2025 21:13

None.

Everyone with my last name is related to me.

It's said to be a misspelling of another name.

imnotwhoyouthinkiam · 01/03/2025 21:14

None. But I'm 99.99% certain that only 3 people in the world exist with my surname.

AcquadiP · 01/03/2025 21:14

None

pumpkinpotpie · 01/03/2025 21:14

None with my birth name.

Since I married I haven’t met anyone who wasn’t part of the family with my married name but I have heard of quite a few people (eg went to a stately home and the family who lived there had the surname) and in fact I went to school with a girl who had the surname I now have as my married name. Obviously it meant nothing to me at the time!

LostInAMist · 01/03/2025 21:15

Loads, both maiden and married surname are very common for my country!

DuesToTheDirt · 01/03/2025 21:15

No one ever. Though I did have someone email me years ago on the off-chance that I was a relative (I wasn't) and recently someone accidentally put my email address down as theirs to get a newsletter - mine is the basic one, i.e. mailto:JaneDoe@... JaneDoe@... and my namesake must be mailto:JaneXDoe@... JaneXDoe@... or something.

Mingenious · 01/03/2025 21:16

Never anyone with my maiden name, 2 or 3 with my married name.

Chasingsquirrels · 01/03/2025 21:17

1
Not an overly common surname.
The vet in the small village I moved to in an area I had no connection to.

LaPalmaLlama · 01/03/2025 21:17

Tonnes- think Smith, Brown, Baker though. Weirdly I don’t even register it if someone has the same surname as me.

Snozzlemaid · 01/03/2025 21:18

Lots and lots.
I've got a very common surname for where I live.

I've a common first name too and went to school with someone with same first and surname.

And, I worked for a large company and there was another person with both my names there as well. We often got each other's emails.

RedVelvetIcing · 01/03/2025 21:19

Only one.

NameChanges123 · 01/03/2025 21:19

None. My surname is unique so far as I know.

ExtraDecluttering · 01/03/2025 21:20

I have a friend with the same surname, so with her DH and DS that's 3. Can't think of any others but it's not that unusual a name, there are a few celebrities with it.

narcASD · 01/03/2025 21:20

My surname is a popular boys first name, not met any with my surname though, both married and maiden surnames

happytobee · 01/03/2025 21:20

My best friend / colleague shares my surname! We got a joint costco card by saying we were related and people at work assumed we were until they found out otherwise

thiswilloutme · 01/03/2025 21:21

one in 70yrs! and that was this year. Have now met their partner and DC and they had never met anyone with the name not related to them either.

wishuponaheart27 · 01/03/2025 21:21

0 with maiden or married name, that aren't related by blood or marriage. Have only met one person with the same first name as me.

MrsMoastyToasty · 01/03/2025 21:22

Loads with my maiden surname (it's in the top 10) , but only spoken to 2 people with my married surname on the phone (when doing call centre work).
