Saturday night cahllenge - Music to run to.. I'm revamping my iPod

MascaraOHara · 05/04/2008 19:00

So it's a lonely Saturday night and later this evening I plan to give my iPod a good shake up, get rid of some dead wood, load up some new tracks and create some new play lists...

I want to add a playlist for the gym & running... need suggestions as to what tunes should on my new 'running' playlist...

thought it might be fun to start a thread as well as hoping to get some tunes I've not heard of or thought about adding...

HELP, I need inspiration

no don't go, I have lots of idea but can never remember names. Will check ipod and post later (not that I run, only fast walking but I like quite pacey stuff to keep the tempo up...)

dinny · 05/04/2008 19:15

Mascara, watching this with interest as I took delivery of my new iPod Touch today am well excited!

do you have to pay for iTunes? yes, am totally ignorant of it all!

dinny · 05/04/2008 19:15

Kanye West is greta to run to

PuhPeng · 05/04/2008 19:28

Some of my fave running songs:

Gotta get thru this - Daniel Beddingfield (I know, I know, but it's a good running song!)
Baby Got Back - Sir Mixalot (cheering)
Don't Stop me Now - Queen

Minum · 05/04/2008 19:29

My current favourites are Buzzcocks(ever fallen in love), Jimmy Sommerville(Dont leave me this way), Sophie Ellis Bextor(murder on dance floor), Skids (Down in the valley), Sweet (Wig Wam Bam) Jam (Beat Surrender), Mud (Tiger Feet), Scouting for Girls (Shes so lovely) - 28 minutes running in total

Threadworm · 05/04/2008 19:31

Bit of a cliche but anything by Queen gets me stepping out.

Especially the bicycle song. Though I sppose strictly that should be for cycling.

littleboo · 05/04/2008 19:37

you can download nike plus from itunes which have songs already for running.
theres also a programme you can download that works out the "beats per minute of songs so you can put on ones that would be at the right sort of pace www.mixmeister.com.

I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor - Artcic Monkeys
You and Me Song - The wannadies
Maneater - Nelly Furtado (a bit of a slow beat but an angry song so you can use that aspect of it to keep going)
Comfortably Numb - Scissor Sisters
Monster - The Automatic
Worried About Ray - The Hoosiers
Bat Out Of Hell - Meatloaf

branflake81 · 07/04/2008 15:37
