Hope you all find me.

I've just been reading the thread about how disgusting the shakes and soups are and I've made up my mind to give Atkins one last try before trying Cambridge.
It seems crazy to spend £34 a week on something I won't enjoy eating, when I could spend it on tiger prawns and sirloin steaks instead.

Sorry, don't want to spoil your excitement Oggs. I'll probably be on it too in a week's time.

I'm very excited for you!!

My tips are to try the following:

All the sweet ones are nice

Vanilla - you can have this hot and mix half a sachet with hot water - add it to half a cup of black coffee = latte!! (Its yum)

Of course leaves you other half to have another later too

Choc Mint/Choc - very nice hot - just like hot chocolate options or similiarst

Best of the worst for the soups in my opinion is leek and potato - the others - yeuch!!

binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 09:23

lol Lyra, when you put it like that......

binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 09:25

just be careful where you get your steaks - I remember the 'cant believe the price of these steaks' thread debacle of yours - didnt you get pounced on?

LyraSilvertongue · 08/05/2008 09:25

I'll probably fail again. After my first Atkins success (lost a stone in 4 weeks) I haven't been able to stick to it again. I am a sugar addict.

binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 09:32

Ah well, if you go on CD, the sweet shakes are lurvely...

LyraSilvertongue · 08/05/2008 09:50

I won't be going back to that butcher. The steaks weren't even that much nicer than Sainsburys' bog standard.

BottlebinBerrie · 08/05/2008 09:58

I can't bear milk shakes...are they like those?

binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 09:59

yes and no berrie - in that there is no milk in them.

BottlebinBerrie · 08/05/2008 10:00

Can't decide whether I depseratly want to be thinner one more time in my life or it's a horrible unnatural, unhealthy thing to do to your body...

binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 10:01

bit of both I find...

LyraSilvertongue · 08/05/2008 10:09

Hmm, are the shakes anything like those bloody terrible high protein, low carb Atkins ones. They are utterly vile.

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 08/05/2008 10:11

I'm sitting at my desk eating beef jerky for breakfast instead of my usual porridge. They didn't have anything else carb-free at the corner shop apart from a tin of sardines. Must plan better next time.

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 10:18

Beef jerky ? lol - a great start Lyra

I think the shakes are quite nice however I say this 10 days in - ask me again in a month when I've had a hundred of them

LyraSilvertongue · 08/05/2008 10:22

I'll get prawns and salad or something for lunch. Something healthier than beef jerky. Although I am low on iron so the beef might help that.

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 10:23

Good luck with it - its just those first few days that are the hardest isnt it?

binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 10:26

lol - I have just been called passive agressive on another thread because I am using smileys!!

You cant be happy and cheerful cos the sun is shining on MN without being accused of having some kind of personality disorder. In fact, I think being a happy, open person is in itself viewed as a personality disorder on here sometimes

I feel like sending them over here to meet my friends who actually know what I am like. You'd stick up for me wouldnt you??

oggsfrog · 08/05/2008 10:30

Ooh. Ooh. Off to wash hair and get ready. Need to leave in 30mins. Wish me luck .

binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 10:31

Good Luck, tell us all about it later!!!

LyraSilvertongue · 08/05/2008 10:40

gOOD LUCK oGGS!

Binkle, I've sprung to your defence on the other thread.
MN seems to attract people who like a fight.
