Hope you all find me.

I'm a bit late, but good luck Oggs.

Binkle, we've all got personality disorders, otherwise we wouldn't be using Mumsnet in the first place

And you're all nearly selling me on the Cambridge Diet, but I'm trying Atkins like Lyra, until next payday to see how it goes. Oops, I've just bought a salami & cream cheese sarnie. Still, I guess I can rip out the guts of it and bin the bread.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/05/2008 11:54

Zeb, do you have the book? I recommend reading it before you start. it helps enormously.

OP posts:
Zebedeedoodah · 08/05/2008 12:11

Yes I do, I'll dig it out tonight! I'd forgotten about the keso-wotsit, so thanks for that.

But this weekend could be quite heavy on the alcohol front as me and my best mate get totally blitzed whilst trying to work out how to resolve our marriage problems... or not.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/05/2008 12:16

Spirits and low-cal mixers are Atkins friendly so you can still get blitzed.

Zebedeedoodah · 08/05/2008 12:18

Good point, but I'm not that good on spirits. I'm definitely more the wino type

BottlebinBerrie · 08/05/2008 12:22

I think I'm going to make a concerted effort to devise my own diet fro me and dh and see if we can stick to it...again...

BottlebinBerrie · 08/05/2008 12:23

With saturday night off though!

Zebedeedoodah · 08/05/2008 12:25

Natch.

BottlebinBerrie · 08/05/2008 12:25

I think that last night was the first time since we stopped drinking except for Saturday that I didn't really think about wanting a drink

BottlebinBerrie · 08/05/2008 12:26

Where can I take dh and family for his 40th in October?

Zebedeedoodah · 08/05/2008 12:49

Cornwall! Doh!

And I haven't had a fag or drink since Sunday. And haven't craved it either. I think cos DH isn't around.

BottlebinBerrie · 08/05/2008 12:52

Is it really that bad Zeb? With dh I mean?

Zebedeedoodah · 08/05/2008 13:06

Well it's not brilliant. It's not rowing or anything, just my all round general unhappiness with our circumstances and the fact that I've come to hate farming and that whole lifestyle, which boils down to us being chalk and cheese and wanting different things out of life. All very difficult. And it's an awful awful cliche, but it's me that's changed, not him. We talked about it last weekend (when I was VERY drunk), with a not very happy conclusion. It could possibly be summarised as we should stay together because of DS, as who wouldn't want to grow up in this enviable place, and most women would give their eye teeth for what I have. hmmm. As I've said, I'm not sure if it's my depression kicking in again, or if this really is something I have to face properly.

Sorry, let's change the subject and talk about something more cheerful.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/05/2008 13:09

Zeb, what about if you were the one working away in London and he stayed at home on the farm. Could that work?

OP posts:
BottlebinBerrie · 08/05/2008 13:13

Ah hope you and yur friend have a useful chat...

binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 13:15

I'm back!!

Lyra, thanks for backing me up -not checked the thread yet but its true some folk just want a row - but I'm the passive agressive one apparently

Zeb, sorry you're having a bit of a wonky time at the moment, I think dh and I are also chalk and cheese in a lot of ways and it does cause friction more often than I'd like - I think a big part of getting the salon and stuff is to do something just for myself that means something to me as I just cant care about stocks, mergers and all that stuff...and I know dh would say stocks and mergers pay the bills, its a bit of a vicious circle really...

Anyway, the sun is shining so we've got to see only the good in life for today

Berrie, what dh like doing?

Zebedeedoodah · 08/05/2008 13:19

Errm, I like stocks, mergers and all that stuff It's cows and pigs I hate.
Lyra, the London thing wouldn't work as he needs to be there to pay for what we do here and I know what my earning limitations are in London. There are also staff issues which means he needs to be there a lot more than he thought would be necessary.

I'm also realistic enough to know that whilst I hate living on a farm, I'd hate moving back to London to work even more in the medium to long term, although in the short term it would probably be great!

And don't worry, me and my mate have MORE than enough to talk about - she's got problems of her own. Gah! Serves us all right for thinking we were the 'having it all generation'.

Binkle, how did it go?

binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 13:26

and I love cows and pigs Zeb!!

...hang on......

LIFE SWAP!!!!!

BottlebinBerrie · 08/05/2008 13:29

Flying model aeroplanes...grrr

binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 13:30

you up for it Zeb?

He's clean and housetrained honest and you can talk to him all night about bears and bulls and all that bs and I could go milk moo-moos with yours

Would be great if it was so easy eh?

Zebedeedoodah · 08/05/2008 13:30

And I love schmoozing with political types
Sorted

Can I keep DS though? He is kinda cute. I've just offered him up for some child modeling here next week for a posh catalogue and am just waiting to hear if they want him.

binkleandflip · 08/05/2008 13:32

God you were made for my dh Zeb!! He went to IOD annual meet up last week and Gordon Brown was there apparently he was most impressed!

Yes, you can keep ds and I'll keep dd - what the hell I've grown quite fond of her

BottlebinBerrie · 08/05/2008 13:33

Enough of your dodgy swinging type talk!

Zebedeedoodah · 08/05/2008 13:33

I love finance even more, I just can't differentiate between Binkle and Lyra . OK, yes, I'm a sad human being. I get excited about politics and finance and realised a while back that I'm Margot not Barbara.

And my DH is kinda house trained in an alpha male kind of way, but I suspect you'd soon beat him into shape. He's also handy when you need to deliver a calf or milk a cow or need a rabbit for dinner

Zebedeedoodah · 08/05/2008 13:34

Oh yes, DH scrubs up quite presentably as well. Quite a handsome chap actually.
