Hope you all find me.

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 05/05/2008 20:30

If nothing else it is showing me that I have got better self control than I ever credited myself with

That's a bit of a revelation as I've always thought of myself as someone with bloody none!!

oggsfrog · 05/05/2008 20:34

I think you'v done brilliantly.
How is dog? Did she have the op?

binkleandflip · 05/05/2008 20:51

She's not doing too bad thanks, had the op - she now has to go back tomorrow for an x-ray under sedation to make sure the plate is bedding in ok. Insurance still havent paid out - we are £2080 down until they decide whether to or not

LyraSilvertongue · 05/05/2008 21:02

£2k?

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 05/05/2008 21:08

Bloody hell .

binkleandflip · 06/05/2008 09:44

yeah, and more to pay yet...dont think a cat would put you back that much Lyra just cause she's a great big lump of a dog that needs specialist treatment!!

BottlebinBerrie · 06/05/2008 10:16

Binkle...you don't have 3 stone to lose!

binkleandflip · 06/05/2008 10:22

Morning Berrie - I totally do have 3 stone to lose!! My chubby cheeks must account for at least half a stone

I'm getting weighed again on thursday so I'm hoping to have lost 10lb altogether by then (since last monday) .

BottlebinBerrie · 06/05/2008 10:51

That would be great!
10lb's is a lot!
I was going to be good this week. I dropped dc off at playschool and stopped myself going to the Co-Op for a carrot cake. I was then in the petrol station and I was just about to grab a caramel bar when someone I knew came in and I didn't want them to think I was a fat piggy porker ( as if my fat arse said wasn't a bit of a givaway)
I came home and made lemon curd tarts instead as you do which I shall probably eat most of once they are cool enough.

binkleandflip · 06/05/2008 11:23

Lemon curd tarts.....

...that might possibly be the first thing I eat when I start eating again...one of my mums lemon curd tarts - yum!!

Zebedeedoodah · 06/05/2008 13:17

Binkle, that's amazing. I'm really impressed. Do you have a target dress to wear for your grand opening as incentive?

I think I must investigate, although I don't think I could afford it either.
Berrie, can I have one of your lemon curd tarts to cheer me up?!

binkleandflip · 06/05/2008 15:05

Aww whats up Zeb?

I havent got a target as such but I'd like to be a comfy size 12.

Zebedeedoodah · 06/05/2008 16:07

Hey Binkle. Just in a bit of a slump at the moment. Having decided last month I should come off the ADs because I was feeling good, I'm now actually got worse than I was and considering upping the dosage. This has been going on for around a month as well.
Still, I'm spending next weekend away with my BF and her kiddies and DS so we can put the world to rights and decide on Plan B when we decide it's finally time to leave our DHs.

But I'd also like to be a comfy 12 too - 10/12 rather than 12/14 though, or is that just wanting too much?

On a more cheerful note, can anyone who's watching the Nancies tell me why Ashley the ginger Scot is still in? She's dreadful. But I'm not 100% sure who I do want to win as I like quite a few of the rest.

oggsfrog · 06/05/2008 16:25

Hey Binkle... you've started something here. I've spent hours researching the cambridge diet and have even emailed the site to find nearest counsellor. I'm waiting for a response and then will have to make a decision.
Could only fit in one pair of trousers this morning and was very wary of sitting down .

Zebedeedoodah · 06/05/2008 16:30

I know Oggs - first day of the summer wardrobe
And let me know about how you go with the Cambridge people, although I guess it's just a bit pricey so maybe it's back to the old fashioned way

oggsfrog · 06/05/2008 16:42

Does seem pricey but when I add up what I spend when I'm low carbing (cream, cheese, steak, salmon, lamb chops, not forgetting the cost of alcohol and mixers) then it doesn't seem that bad.
I haven't mentioned it to dh yet and tbh am worried about dd's response (you can only come up with valid/believable reasons for missing meals), but am feeling I've come to the end of the road and need to do something drastic.

BottlebinBerrie · 06/05/2008 16:44

Oggs, could you not just design your self a 550 cal soup diet?

Zebedeedoodah · 06/05/2008 16:45

That's a very good point Oggs. And I guess if I stopped smoking & drinking as well as eating carbs, I'd probably have that to spend too. I just paid over £6 for a packet of fags in Smiths on Saturday. It's gotta stop.

oggsfrog · 06/05/2008 16:49

I could Berrie, but it's the fact that I don't have to even think about food (other than dd's and dh's, but I'm used to preparing them different food from me).
I'm very good with all or nothing, and to not have to even think about meals as such is very tempting.

BottlebinBerrie · 06/05/2008 18:26

Sorry about this Binkle but shhh...(whispers) do you not think that you'll put it all back on Oggs...your starving body will engineer itself to make best use of any calories it subsequently gets?

I researched Lighterlife (similar to Cambridge) after Lyra mentioned it the other week. In fact I started a thread on it. I was seriously thinking about it but lots of people came on saying they'd lost loads and put on more.

I suppose if you don't mind that just for the opportunity to be thinner for a bit...very tempting!

LyraSilvertongue · 06/05/2008 18:36

The three people I know who've done Lighter Life look amazing now and none has put any back on as far as I know.

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 06/05/2008 18:44

yes that's about my mentality I think - I might well put it all on again, but at least I'll get thinner quicker so can enjoy it sooner

TBH, I only know two people who have done Cambridge - one put it all back on and more and the other is keeping it off really well so far.

I have to say, already it has had a big effect on my capacity for food, I had chicken ceacsar salad for lunch and had to stop after only a few mouthfuls as I was too full.

It was a pretty great feeling to be full up of salad

oggsfrog · 06/05/2008 18:50

Binkle aren't you doing sole source?

binkleandflip · 06/05/2008 18:53

I am doing Sole Source 'B' which means you can have either a 200cal meal such as white meat/fish with green veg or 200ml skimmed milk for drinks. Counsellor said I can do this because I go running every night. (or so I told her - more like every other night )

So you have 3 sachets and one meal or not on the nights I dont go running (except I have been doing!!)

Zebedeedoodah · 07/05/2008 09:17

Morning all! The sun's still shining, I've dug out some summer clothes (the ones that still fit ) and we're being taken out to lunch today by a grateful client, which ain't so bad. Don't worry, I'll keep off the steak and chips and stick with salad.
No beer, wine or fags last night, and chicken salad so feeling vaguely virtuous.
